You don't know how many times I prayed for just such an occurrence in the 70s.
Of course, I wanted it to happen during a Cowboys/Eagles, Monday Night game in the 70s.
I really wanted to sing, "Turn out the lights, the party's over" as the roof collapsed on Dandy Fucking Don and Howard and both of those teams.
Eh, it's still a good day.
(Title edited cuz I can't do math anymore)

Why is this marked Win then? Because I do believe that the Phelps Freaks will be greeted in the manner in which they so so richly deserve.
I would not provoke a West Virginia coal miner and/or his widow. You're safer dousing yourself in bbq sauce and then climbing into a polar bear cage.

I'm not sure if that counts as a warning or as a piece of friendly advice.

and
He is risen, Alleluia!
Behold, the bonds of Death and Despair have been forever broken on this night. The Light has broken the Darkness, as Jesus of Nazareth has risen from the Dead, fulfilled the prophecies of old, and granted to all of us the gift of Eternal Life.
I know the last year or so has been tough on a lot of us, including our little online community. But so long as we believe our Eternal Gift awaits us, Death and Sadness will never win.

A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care "elsewhere."
"I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."
The sign reads: "If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years."
Fuck yeah!
Oh, and fuck anybody who is upset. Fuck them with whatever a urologist uses. So long as the guy isn't discriminating based on race, gender, etc., he can do whatever the fuck he wants. And good for him.

NAIROBI, Kenya – Suspected Somali pirates fired on a U.S. Navy warship off East Africa early Thursday in what appeared to be a ransom-seeking attack on an American guided missile frigate, officials said. The USS Nicholas returned fire on the pirate skiff, sinking it and confiscating a nearby mothership. The Navy took five pirates into custody, said Navy Lt. Patrick Foughty, a spokesman.
Capt. Jack Sparrow was reached for comment and said, "Dude, seriously what were you thinking? Lay off the Khat and the ghanja for a couple hours before you decide who to attack"
A US Central Command spokesman when questioned about the incident replied, "They chose poorly"
(OK, I made the responses up but it's what they would have said I'm sure)

I admit that I'm a total font and layout geek. I've been known to fuss with the captions to our cases because the whitespace isn't right. That makes this even funnier.

A couple of thoughts after quick review - this is the approach that Levin's stated all along which I think is brilliant, what with it being my approach as well. Throwing in the comments about the line item veto is a great touch since it directly addresses the justicablity argument.
The point about reliance and the impact on *all* current insurance contracts are also well made and ones that I haven't seen addressed too much. Honestly, this will rewrite thousands upon thousands of currently existing contracts immediately. That gives everyone with insurance standing. This also is going to be an enormous cost on insurance companies.
This is also pretty aggressive language, believe it or not. The comments about the Court needing to step up to its co-equal role are both an appeal to the Court's vanity and a shot across the bow about this being the last attempt to constrain Congressional excess.
Hopefully it won't come to that, but if the Slaughter Rule is used and the bill is deemed passed, the briefing on the 12(b)(6) motion to dismiss is where the real fun will be.

I'm all excited, it's my second favorite blogiday*.
I always try to eat baby meat today, veal and lamb especially. Last year I made spagetti sauce with veal and lamb meatballs.
Tonight, for dinner I'm going to a great tapas place on King St in Old Town Alexandria. It's called Las Tapas (funnily enough) and it's fantastic. Tonight I'll have the lamb, veal, rabbit and quail. Too bad they don't have squab. Oh well.
Remember what the eminent philosopher and foot-up-yer-ass-er, Red Forman, says about non-meat "food" stuff: "That's not food, that's what food eats!"
EATAPETA! It makes baby hippies cry.
*My favorite blogiday, of course, is Buy A Gun day, it's coming up in only a few weeks on 4/15. It gets more and more fitting each year.
I'm getting an Uberti Lighting in .45 Colt to go with my Uberti top break in same that I got last year. I'm a big fan of rifle/pistol combos.
Any morons off those silly restraining orders who are participating should send me a pic of their acquisition(s) and I'll post them all on 4/15.
Send pics to veeshir at the hotmail labeled "BAG Day" and whatever you want to be called in the post.
Hopefully mine will be in by then and I'll be able to post the pic. Uberti either gets you the gun a couple days later or you wait for a long, long, time as they send to Italy.
