Excuse me for being juvenile...

...but some Spanish soccer team just paid $94million for Kaka. Doody, however, remains unsigned.

We were happier before

I never would have guessed this. </sarc>

The study by the US National Bureau of Economic Research found that while post-war era happiness surveys found women were noticeable happier than men, the difference had eroded to 'zero'.

Its authors, Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers of the University of Pennsylvania, found that in the U.S., women's happiness had fallen 'both absolutely and relatively to that of men'.
I'm sure that some people will interpret this as 'Men should be taking on more of the workload at home so that women can have their burdens lifted and therefore be more productive in their careers' instead of 'Women should acknowledge that they provide a unique and valuable service within a family structure, and will not be happy if they choose to have a family and then choose to not provide the best support they can for that family'.

Custom squirrels

So who falls in the wide-eyed "I'm horrified!!!" category, and who falls in the wide-eyed "Where do I buy one?!" category?

Just because

Hubby got us tickets to see Leonard Cohen in concert tonight at Red Rocks, and given that we have at least one co-blogger that despises 80s movies, I'm going to guess we have at least one reader or co-blogger who's never been lucky enough to hear his voice.

Babies ain't scared a nuthin

Some parent decided to potentially terrify their toddler by showing him the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are.

When my boy was three, we were watching Sin City on DVD while he took a nap.  We didn't realize he'd woken up until we heard him cracking up from the stairs at a decapitated head bouncing down the street.

The point I'm trying to make is, just because your kid thinks it's funny doesn't mean it's something he needs to be watching.

Quit destroying my childhood!

OK, not my childhood exactly - the original movie came out when I was 16.  But quit destroying it anyway!

If the younguns here haven't seen this, you're required to admit so in the comments so we can make fun of you.

MTV hates me.

MTV's Real World is beginning the next season of The Real World in Adams Morgan, DC soon.  I'm already dreading it.

Question for the pro-abortion* element of society...

I was perusing Google News and saw the picture associated with this story.

My question is this:  If I kick a woman who is 8-months pregnant down the stairs and kill her ... whatever it is you'd fucking call it**,  should I be simply charged with assault and send her a bill?

* - Being pro-choice is one thing, I suppose, but calling Tiller a hero is disgusting.  I think that woman should be forced to watch what he did for a living for a few months Clockwork Orange style.  That bitch is simply pro-abortion, a position that is morally indefensible.

** - I'll call it a baby because that's what it fucking is.  Sorry for the lack of nuance.
