The senior monk told the BBC he was particularly concerned by effeminate activities among novices such as the wearing of make-up and tight robes.I suppose this isn't as surprising as, say, if a member of the Benedictine Order was pulling a Tinky-Winky. In Thailand, it's considered a dishonor to one's mother to not become a monk for at least a short period of time. When public service becomes compulsory, it's quite likely you're going to attract at least a few people who don't really fit what you're looking for.
...
He was especially concerned, he said, by the flamboyant behaviour of gay and transgender monks, who can often be seen wearing revealingly tight robes, carrying pink purses and having effeminately-shaped eyebrows.

It is at least worth watching for that aspect. Also, whenever I think about anything difficult in my life I'll try to remember how absolutely nightmarish it must be to live in Africa. "Happy savages" my asshole. I've decided the most racist thing you can say is that they're happier living like that. Bullshit.

Note: review is biased by the fact that someone brought their screaming four year old to the movie. And proceeded to sit three rows behind me. Where said child talked the whole movie.
No better birth control than other people's kids.
On to the review.

A tipster sent me this tidbit on the Specter switch and what it may mean down the road. I'm holding back giving out the tipster's name because I don't know her Moronosphere nickname.
Anyway, bounce this around, and thanks for tips.
I heard from a Patrick Murphy (I'm in his district) campaign worker that this Specter switch was ginned up for the benefit of Murphy. The idea goes that Specter turns "D", retires at some point in the near future due to health/age, and Rendell appoints Murphy to the seat. The woman who told me this thinks it's a swell idea, and upon reflection, it sounds kinda credible. Anyhoo, just thought I'd pass that along for your thoughts. Murphy is definitely ambitious, and on the payback track (threw Hillary under the bus for Obama).
