I Love a Parade

Wait, why is the marching band eating the spectators?

Man, I wish I was in Chicago right now.

Well, sorta.  Utah is pretty damned great.  And dry.

1 Okay, that's pretty awesome.

2 Kind of related. Every Halloween in Lexington, they shut down Main St. and do a re-enactment of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. Zombies come out of the crowd and join him on the street for dancing. And, bonus, if you want, you can take classes to be one of the zombies.

3 Here is a YouTube of the event in 2006.

5 Hey, I'm in downtown Chicago right now. Looks like I have a half hour to find out where this shindig is going down.

6 If you find it and get pictures, let us know.  You used to have a blog, didn't you?  Maybe post em there if you get 'em, we'll link it.

7 If I'm still in Lexington this Halloween I'll do my best to get pics of the Michael Jackson thing.

8 That'll be fun too.  I wonder if Jeff found the zombie walk...

10 Well, I found the zombie shamble. Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I was trying to get some but my phone crapped out on me. Give a guy some warning next time!

Anyway, there were about 150-200 zombies meandering their way through downtown. Since they didn't have the exact starting location posted, I didn't find them until about 2:30. I don't know if they split up a larger group and sought brains throughout downtown or if I encountered the full force of the zombie invasion.

Most of them had pretty good makeup, although there were a few that looked like the "I like turtles" kid. They had the zombie walk down, most of them at least. They were apparently classical zombies, because there were lots of groans and screams for brains coming from the horde.

I'm pissed I didn't get any pics. There were several zombies taking pictures, so the website will probably have some up in the next few days.

And yes, I did have a website. I haven't posted anything since John McCain became the R nominee, because that just drove me around the bend. But I am working on a new site on the mee.nu servers, and it should be ready in the next few days.

11 Man, that would be fun to see.  Kinda late for me, though.

MP: Is Utah dry enough right now to not have any $*^&$(# mosquitoes?  Color me there.  Michigan is lousy with them.

12 Well, let me know when you have your site up, Jeff.
