Blind squirrel. Nut. Etc.

Whether or not he means it, Obama issued a statement today fully backing up South Korea's response to the ship sinking. This includes the following:

U.S. support for South Korea‚Äôs defense is unequivocal, and the President has directed his military commanders to coordinate closely with their Republic of Korea counterparts to ensure readiness and to deter future aggression.  We will build on an already strong foundation of excellent cooperation between our militaries and explore further enhancements to our joint posture on the Peninsula as part of our ongoing dialogue.

That's pretty harsh in diplospeak.  As one of the commentators put it, we're one illegal ship movement by North Korea from a nuclear war. (Business Insider I think)  Of course I think this will go nuclear, it's not like Kim Jong Il is sane.

Hey, I'll give Obama credit, he's at least saying the things that need to be said.  That's more than I thought would take place.  It's a bit terrifying to think why he'd be saying this.  There must be more intel out there that demonstrates the need for aggressive, public statements.

Things just got more endy than funny again.  Oh.  Yay.

(Random note - I saw the news articles on this, went to get the official WH link to the statement, didn't see it and the page updated with the statement just as I went to do a search.  That was a bit creepy)

And this is how the zombie apocalypse begins

Uh, just WTF is Alcor hoping to accomplish by cryogenically freezing a head that's been buried for two years?  Especially one with a brain that was already suffering from dementia.  I'm having visions of a lab accident where the head is accidentally thawed out and drags itself along the floor by its eyeballs until it reaches an unsuspecting janitor who gets bitten on the ankle before he bats the head under a table with his broom, to never be found until the sequel.

(Note: That's not Orville Richardson's actual head, but you can buy it here. There's a discount for bulk orders.  The fake head, I mean.  As far as I know, Alcor isn't selling Orville's head.  Maybe we should take up a collection and kill it with fire, though.)
