What Really Happened At Brennan's In NOLA?
Apparently, a member of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's staff and her male companion were beaten fairly severely outside of Brennan's in New Orleans.
This is some ugly stuff, and I hope the couple recovers as soon as possible, and the criminals, regardless of motivation, get sodomized sans lube by the flaming sword of justice.

If the attack was politically motivated (I actually tend STRONGLY to NOT) this is a MAJOR EFFING DEAL!
However, They were leaving a Fund Raiser, which tends to attract those with some wealth.
Since she is missing her purse, MIGHT (most likely, my short time in the french quarter consisted of me and a few friends of the moment standing tall, letting everyone know that they would at least pay a price) it might have been an attempt by some punks who knew that there was a lot of money there and tried to get what was left over.
It's not like NO has managed to fix their crime rate as yet.
But if the perpetrators ARE captured and they admit to political motivations, then this is a REALLY big deal.
Otherwise, it's a demonstration of shitty administration by the mayor and the police chief, and the individuals who's job it is to "protect" the peace.
