What McCain's new "Biden" ad really means

In case you missed it, here is McCain's new ad featuring Joe Biden's preference of McCain over an inexperienced Barack Obama:

As DrewM points out, this is exactly the type of ad you would expect to see "every time the VP choice is someone who was in the primaries."

This begs the question: Would McCain put out an ad like this if he too was choosing someone he fought against in the primaries?  Unless McCain has lost all good sense (big "if," I know) he won't pick someone who will allow Obama and the DNC to turn around and do the same thing to him.

Update:  Someone thinks that it will be Romney, now more than ever.  I'll give you three guesses...

Very good point.  New prediction:  McCain picks Queen Latifah as his running mate.  a plus-sized, black, lesbian woman -- talk about having it all!

Hey, in this age of identity politics, it's not as crazy as it sounds.

2 Confession:  I will watch any movie with Queen Latifah in it, and I think that would translate into me voting for any ticket with her on it.

3 IVD, did you ever see "Living out Loud" with QL and Holly Hunter? I'm debating whether to Netflix it.

4 I really liked Living Out Loud, though it is very much a I Am Woman Hear Me Roar movie

Oh and, as usual, K-Lo is a complete twit.  I love the fact that there are people who read the corner so I don't have to, as I can't stomach most of the blather there.

I suppose it could still be Romney, but there just doesn't seem much reason for it.  It's not like the people who want Romney are going to vote Dem (or even sit out) anyway, so why pick him?  McCain could pick Marvin the Martian and K-Lo would still gush over the brilliance of the choice.

My (somewhat) more serious prediction is Lieberman, just because Maverick loves to screw the base.

I hate to be really off-topic, but I don't see any open threads at the moment to post this. I have a special announcement at Conchrist that is going to affect my blogging for at least a couple of weeks.

I didn't see the Biden announcement until the next day, so at the moment I have no thoughts on the choice.

7 Alexthechick,

Thanks, I saw just the lesbian dance clip on youtube. I understand the rest of the movie isn't like that, per se. Still, I've got a crush on Holly Hunter and no objection to Queen Latifah.

The Corner pisses me off because it used to be great. Ever since the 04 elections, though, it has gone to shit.

And yeah, Mac will pick someone guaranteed to piss most of us off. I'd be happy with Romney, even with the inevitable attack ads from the Dems. He may be a little dull, but he sure as hell is no Biden.

8 I have a special announcement

Yep, posted.

9 You gotta love the power of Photoshop (on those pics at your link): I saw some film with Hollie Hunter in it the other night and, my God, Hollywood make-up artists can't hold a candle to (B)--she now looks like the creature from Wilson's Leather (and, yeah, I used to think she was quite the hottie but time is a cruel, uncaring, UV-heavy beast).

10 She was never conventionally hot. Her attitude and the way she carries herself make her hot.

I generally don't like small petite women. I like 'em tall with curves. But Holly does it for me. A few wrinkles aren't gonna change that.

11 Well there's wrinkles (no problems here with that) and then there's raisins--she was definitely looking more like something out of Fresno than a few too many sunny days in LA.

12 Well, ECM, come by my place Tuesday afternoon and I'll put up a chick that I'm sure you'll like better. Or go look at the other chicks I've put up.

As long as alexthechick thinks my picks are OK, I'm happy.

13 As long as alexthechick thinks my picks are OK, I'm happy.

I think in this case, that past performance is a guarantee of future results, so you shouldn't need to worry about that.  I agree that Holly Hunter is showing her age, but I still think she's insanely hot.  It's the voice and the attitude and the over all fantasticness.

14 I generally don't like small petite women.

Oh YEAH???  Well, maybe WE don't like YOU!

*runs off sobbing like a, er, little girl*
