I can't help but wonder...
...if this guy had participated in an ad for the other side, would there be any "outrage" or even "controversy"?
Just kidding. There's no reason to wonder about it at all. Nobody (well, nobody who matters, anyway) would have said a thing.

Boston College Professor's Appearance in Pro-Gay Marriage Ad Sparks Outrage
Talk about the headline and the article saying two completely different things. It took me a solid minute of reading and rereading to figure out that he is in fact against same-sex marriage. If he was in a pro-SSM ad, he probably would have gotten an award for 'courage'.

Good catch, Jeff. I didn't notice that.

Yeah, I read the headline several times wondering what the problem was. He was campaigning for pro gay marriage, and there is nobody in the university lifestyle that would have a problem with that. It's not until you get to the article itself that you find out he was against gay marriage. But also note, it wasn't because he was a biggotted anti gay republican. It was against it because of the LEGAL issues it entails. Like sueing a minister who will not perform said gay marriage. Totally wierd.
