I am pretty damn sure it's real, and it makes me mad. Like, "I probably shouldn't be blogging right now because I'm so mad" mad.
And also, I'm sick and fucking tired of disclaimers like this accompanying every story of Obama cultist violence:
I agree with people in the comments who say that the beating and maiming were political, and obviously so. Ashley wouldn’t have that wound on her face otherwise. What I am saying is that it’s unfair to generalize about Obama supporters based on the actions of one nut.
You know what, Ed is right. But this isn't "one nut." This is constant political violence aimed at McCain-Palin supporters across the nation. These people (the ones who carve up peoples faces, destroy vans, deface Norm Coleman's garage, beat McCain volunteers in NYC with their own signs) are fucking savages, and they're getting away with it because they know we'll roll over and not make any attempt to showcase the narrative of the angry left without fucking disclaimers.
So you know what? I think it did happen, and I am going to lay the blame right at Barack Obama's feet. Why? Here's Dear Leader on September 17:
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face."
"Get in their faces" they did, Obama.
I blame you. I blame you for saying that without qualification. I blame you for doing nothing to try to stop this cult of personality that has built around you. I blame you for the scars on this woman's face.
It's. All. Your. Fault.

But remember, Barack was only eight years old when this happened, so no harm, no, foul.

[James] Carville, who served as a senior political adviser to former President Bill Clinton, said that many Democrats would be very angry if Obama loses. He noted that many Democrats were upset by Sen. John Kerry’s (D-Mass.) loss to President Bush in the 2004 election, when some Democrats made allegations of vote manipulation in Ohio, the state that ultimately decided the race.If you don't want to have to deal with that "angst and anger" (nudge nudge, wink wink) it's simple. Just vote for Obama.Experts estimated that thousands of voters did not vote in Ohio because of poor preparation and long lines. Carville said Democratic anger in 2004 “would be very small to what would happen in 2008†if the same problems arose.
Carville said earlier this month that “it would be very, very, very dramatic out there†if Obama lost, a statement some commentators interpreted as predicting riots. In an interview Tuesday, however, Carville said he did not explicitly predict rioting.
“A lot of Democrats would have a great deal of angst and anger,†said Carville, who predicted that on Election Day “the voting system all around the country is going to be very stressed because there’s going to be enormous turnout.â€
(And yes, this post is racist.)

But hey, it's McCain, Palin and us conservatives that are the ugly campaigners, right Kathleen?

Vandals made a political statement in a Southwest Allen County neighborhood this week.Several major national media outlets immediately flew investigative journalists to Indiana to dig into Ms. Davis' tax records and employment history.Every McCain/Palin campaign sign was destroyed. The Obama/Biden signs however were left intact.
One neighbor, Nancy Davis, told NewsChannel 15, her sign was only up for about 24 hours.
She responded by posting a sign on the original campaign sign, stating "This vandalism will not change my vote."

Can we act like a bunch of lawless thugs? Yes We Can!
At some point during the wee hours of the morning, supporters of opponent Barack Obama attacked a private home in Prince George’s County, Md., defacing the house, an RV, a truck cover, and a two foot by eight foot yard sign. Apparently, the home owner was a registered Democrat and the local Obama fans were none to pleased with his decision to back McCain. The Obama campaign immedeiately responded by calling Harris' remarks racist. (Well, no, not really, but you can totally see that happening, right?)“I understand that in every election there are incidents where campaign signs on both sides are removed, torn down and defaced,†said Mykel Harris, Republican Central Committee Chair for Prince George’s County in a statement to the media. “But rarely do the perpetrators proceed to deface your home and personal property in your yard.â€
Harris called on elected officials, law enforcement, and appointed election officials take matters like these seriously and demanded that “persons found violating the civil rights of others via sign vandalism, voter registration fraud, or political intimidation pay a terrible price.â€
