Using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Judicial Watch uncovered thousands of pages of travel documents related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of military aircraft.
What hasn’t been revealed so far is that military aircraft are being
used to shuttle Pelosi’s kids and grandkids between DC and San
Francisco without any Congressional representatives even onboard! Put
simply, the United States Air Force is serving as a multi-billion
dollar chauffeur- and baby-sitting service for Nancy Pelosi’s kids and
grandkids — presumably because commercial travel is beneath the
families of the autocrats.
Honestly, while I am not surprised to discover that the Party of the Little People treats our military in such a fashion, I am still amazed into silence at the impunity with which they do what they do.

Reason Eleventy Bazillion And Twenty Eight Why The Government Should Not Be Allowed To Run A Car Company
Seems the concerns many people had about the Federal Government owning car companies because of anunfair advantage may have been correct.
However, as Caruso-Cabrera pointed out, it was the Obama
administration's Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood who determined
that Toyota had to recall these vehicles over reports of sticky acceleration pedals.
"Ray
LaHood is on the record saying that he told them they had to do this,"
Caruso-Cabrera said. "They had to stop selling. Are you looking into
whether or not that was absolutely necessary? Are you convinced this
was necessary?"
Sessions expressed his concern over that
possibility and noted the amount of money the federal government had
recently pumped into GMAC, the auto financing arm of General Motors.
"Well,
you know - we were in until late last night and I hadn't heard that,"
Sessions said. "I worry about those kind of things. I worry about Ford
working hard and having to compete against the federal government. With
an unlimited - they just gave $3 billion more to GMAC. The President's
got to be careful here. He can not be playing politics and union
politics or regional politics with the economy of this country."
Since Toyota (NYSE:TM) announced the recall, the shares of the auto manufacturer have dropped more than 15 percent in the last seven trading sessions, down $2.10 on Jan. 28 after a $7.01 slide the day before.
Not to be a conspiracy nut, but when the Government owns anything, they can do anything to the competition. Take heed, anybody involved in healthcare or insurance.

From what I heard, the problem is not with the accelerator pedal at all, but is caused by the floor mat slipping and getting lodged under the pedal. If they could hold the floor mat in place, the problem wouldn't have happened.
Posted by: Jeff M at January 30, 2010 03:34 PM (8P3+x)
5
If it's the floor mat, then why are only the models with gas pedals supplied by CTS (which is a UAW union shop) the problem? Why wouldn't the Camry Hybrid (built in Japan without a CTS gas pedal) be affected?
Posted by: steveegg at January 30, 2010 03:59 PM (UGOcx)
Update - Fox News is reporting a fix has reportedly been approved by the Feds. Short version - a shim in the spring area is the fix (which means it's not the floormat, or the shape of the gas pedal itself).

Maybe we're thinking of unrelated incidents. I was referring to this specifically (warning: car accident photos, no bodies, but it is pretty nasty), where it appeared that there was not enough clearance between the floormat and the bottom of the pedal. The floormat slipped and got stuck under the accelerator, which made it so the car couldn't stop.
A shim could theoretically fix that problem, holding the pedal a few centimeters higher, out of the way of the floormat. Or it could be the accelerator itself, I don't know.

Be Careful For Which You Ask, Since You Just May Get It
For years, I have half jokingly told people in the media that their work on the air or in print should be registered and regulated by the FEC as an "in kind" contribution to the Democrats. I never really meant it, but it was fun to insult and annoy the arrogant assholes in the Fourth Estate.
Well, I am intrigued to see that the left has decided to weigh in on the matter. And, not surprisingly, they want to regulate and harass Fox News via amorphous (at best) election laws (warning: MediaMatters link) and force it to register as a campaign donor. Needless to say, this is part and parcel of the Soros crowd whining and lashing out after the Brown Victory last week, with Eric Boehlert leading the charge. And what is most disturbing is how many media hacks and other lefties read MediaMatters and look to it for advice and agenda setting :
The FEC made the correct, sensible decision in 2006 when it extended its media exemption to include bloggers, even though many of them broadcast a proud partisan voice online. There's nothing wrong with a strong editorial voice. What Fox News is doing today, however, goes so far beyond broadcasting an editorial voice, skating so close to GOP campaign management, that it should no longer enjoy the distinction of a media exemption.
Indeed, with its radical transformation into a purely political entity, Fox News has changed the rules governing politics and the press. It's time for the FEC to recognize that, look at Fox News with a fresh set of eyes, and act accordingly.
Heh. So that's how it's going to be, eh? Just be careful, asshole. Be careful, because if you do get your wish, and Fox News is muzzled and regulated, then don't fucking piss and moan if the next Republican President goes after MSNBC, PBS, or the New York Times. Don't fucking whine, because we can probably find an FEC expert who could make the case that the MSM as constituted today is a campaign tool for the Democrats and subject to future FEC regulations as well.
Sadly, the Republicans won't really do it. But I would love to see Katie Couric, Adam Nagourney, or Gwen Ifill forced to register their work with The Man and see how they like it then.
Gay V Teh Ghey
Holy Return Volley Batman! The other day a blog I don't really read too much had a link to a Hillbuzz post about being attacked for not being all Hopey Changey. Turned out, they're 2 gay guys, but they're obviously not teh ghey. As you will soon see. Coupla high points, but then you have to go read the whole thing. Seriously, you might as well just click and not read what I'm about to quote. But I'll quote anyway. Many thanks to everyone who has been helping to track down the
identities of the Leftist thugs who have been defaming, threatening,
harassing, and libeling us. It feels like we’re making real progress,
and are close to zeroing in on the IDs of these people. Expect a full
update soon, once we have time to pull everything together, and piece
together all the clues you’ve been uncovering....
Uh-oh. More Someone told us to be very careful with digging too deep into this,
because if our hunch is right and this does lead back to the DNC and
Organizing for America themselves, there are many people who will do us
physical harm to keep us from exposing them.
And that's not just rhetorical. Another reason this needs to be highly publicized. Cockroaches don't like the light. And my favorite part. Listen, we grew up gay in the Midwest, where we were abused,
threatened, maligned, harassed, and blackmailed before…by people much
more creative than the Hope and Change Gang…people who covered their
tracks better. What these Obama-supporting thugs don’t realize is that
when you launch Alinsky attacks against people who have been subjected
to Alinksy attacks their whole lives, like us, we aren’t going to just
turn tail and run.
Bring it on. I can't believe I'm giving money to Hillbuzz.
Seriously, it's kind of long and you'll feel a little gay dipping your balls into gay pudding, but just dip, Like a Viking!
Those fellers over at Hillbuzz are good people, and the vile thugs from the left want to hurt them. It seems to me that the thugs made a key mistake here, and that is interpreting goodness (and probably gayness, because lets face it, your typical leftist is the most hateful bigoted piece of trash around - just look at the projection if you want proof!) as weakness.
Cowards always make this mistake. They've made it with me before, too.* Kindness, patience, and goodness is not the same thing as weakness. I'm very interested to see how the Hillbuzz boys handle this, and also to see the leftists that get exposed to start whining about how scared they are of the big, bad righties and their threats (there's that projection again).
*I am a big man. 6'-4" tall, pushing 300 pounds, and can bench press way over my body weight. All of this adds up to me being a very nice, very gentle person, which gets interpeted as weakness all the time. Everybody seems to want to fight the "big guy" to prove their mettle, and so they choose me because I seem pretty harmless. Heh. I know where the Hillbuzz boys sit right now, and I know how they feel. I hope they win. i think they will.

Law and Order Los Angeles DVD did a complete overhaul, bumping up Alfred Molina and Terrence Howard, letting go of several cast members, including Skeet Ulrich, and bringing in Leverage DVD. But after a wide marketing campaign, the crime drama relaunched to ratings that were lower than the unimpressive numbers for its original run. The Closer DVD get a second chance at a complete reboot, something very few shows get. Its demise underscores the fact that, while dreaded and sometimes outrageously expensive, The Shield DVD a purpose. Fringe DVD was hastily picked up straight-to-series as NBC canceled the mothership Law & Order series last May. The show tried to make amends midstream, but The Wire DVD is hard to do that after a poor launch.

Bastids, farging bastids
Via cbulllitt we find a link to Nicky Goomba where we find that they're not done trying to shackle us. As Goomba said, google hr-45, the first link is to Thomas.loc.gov, they post bills online. This fine little bill is all about gun registration. Quote The term `qualifying firearm'- (A) means-`(i) any handgun; or
`(ii) any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device;
All handguns and it will turn out to be all semi-autos, somehow I figure they'll include clips in that "detachable ammunition feeding device" so a Garand is included.
And what do they do with these firearms? It shall be unlawful for any person other than a licensed importer,
licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to
possess a qualifying firearm on or after the applicable date, unless
that person has been issued a firearm license--
These bastards are just relentless, every fucking day there's another fucking outrage. They get your fingerprints and all your personal info and they give you a license. They record what guns you own (for when they go to confiscation) and you have to renew every 5 years (every 5 year anniversary of your birthdate), you have to pay to buy a gun. But wait, there's still more! Remember Probable Cause and Illegal Search and Seizure? Unnecessary In order to ascertain compliance with this Act, the amendments made by
this Act, and the regulations and orders issued under this Act, the
Attorney General may, during regular business hours, enter any place in
which firearms or firearm products are manufactured, stored, or held,
for distribution in commerce, and inspect those areas where the
products are so manufactured, stored, or held.
Words don't fail me, but they're all full of threats and whatnot so I'll won't say them I will comment on this `(ff) Failure To Provide Notice of Change of Address- It shall be
unlawful for any individual to whom a firearm license has been issued
under title I of Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act
of 2009 to fail to report to the Attorney General a change in the
address of that individual within 60 days of that change of address.'.
Nobody- not Pelosi, not Boxer, not Schumer has signed onto this bill. Bobby Rush could submit a bill to square the circle or bring back sexy if he wants- unless someone other than himself votes for it, it's just waste paper.
If memory serves, he's submitted some kind of asinine gun-registration bill every session he's been wasting the taxpayer's air in Congress. I personally remember this particular rumor running around a few years ago.
Democrats don't have the balls or the stupidity to put a gun-registration bill up for a vote. They know what would happen if they did (can you say, "Permanent Republican Majority", folks? Sure you can) because they saw what happened last time. I don't deny that the current administration and Congress would LOVE to attack gun ownership, but I expect it to happen either incrementally through bueraucratic fiat (e.g. the ATF completely stops issuing FFL's and starts revoking the ones still out there, or makes getting an FFL too onerous to manage) or through "unintended consequences" (e.g. as part of the Obamacare bill, where ownership of firearms is listed as 'voluntary risky behavior' and means you get a much higher premium and have to go to the back of the line for care).
It's not that there's no threat; it's just that this almost certainly isn't it.
Jeez, I wish people do a little thought before they hit the hysterics buton.

According to this, it's in committee as of 1/6/10.
These are just trial balloons, they need to be smacked upside the head each and every time they try this shit so they know to stop fucking trying it.
Healthcare is a right to these people and yet guns, which are specifically mentioned, are not. You see, the Constitution is designed to restrict what gov't can do, except for the 2nd amendment, that's to empower the gov't at the expense of the People.
That bill has so many anti-Constitutional things in it that it's fucking ridiculous, they need to be smacked in the head of even thinking about it.

Notice it was referred to the House Judiciary subcommittee on "Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security".
Fucking bastards just lumped me in with criminals and terrorists. Fuck them.
I know I'm paranoid about guns, but that's the most important amendment. As FrnakJ said once (I can't find the link so paraphrase), "Of the 1st and 2nd amendment, I'll take the 2nd because then I can say what I want because I'll have a gun."
Posted by: Veeshir at January 20, 2010 10:28 AM (k50Q0)
Part of a good self-defense posture is situational awareness, but part of situational awareness is the ability to analyze threats and to judge the difference between (say) a barking dog and one who's about to bite. Rush is antigun, we got that a long time ago; but we can't pry him out of his safe seat and we can't stop him from submitting crap like this. We CAN focus our attentions on the serious problems (the Chicago 2nd Amendment suits, say, or the efforts to treat ammunition makers as either explosives manufacturers or as biohazardous industries) and not distract ourselves worrying about threats that- while offensive- can't be taken seriously.
Hell, the best thing to do might be to do what the Republicans did to Charles Rangel when he proposed resurrecting The Draft: force the bill to a vote, and make the bastards either stand with it or disavow it...

Scary: Army seeks input from RAND on national police force
And RAND Corporation thinks it's just a brilliant idea, it would be a dual purpose organization, acting as a foreign policing force in nationbuilding operations, but maintaining this sort of force would only be cost effective if they served as a national domestic police force too. And look at this little bonus,
In particular, for the MP option to be as cost-effective as
possible, relief from the Posse Comitatus Act [which forbids the US
Army from being used in law enforcement in the United States] would be
required to permit its members to perform domestic law enforcement
functions.

Where I Send Message To The Ladies At Code Pink In A Chivalrous And Gentlemanly Manner
FUCK YOU, Code fucking traitor Pink. Fuck you and your sweaty, hairy pitted trust funded shebitch sidekicks of dickshriveling shittiness with Benedict Arnold's rusty dueling pistol loaded with those spiders that like to lay sarcoma soaked eggs inside humanoid nether regions.
This isn't fucking with recruiters, taunting wounded warriors, heckling congresscritters at hearings, or acting as human shields in a war zone. THIS IS FUCKING TREASON AND SUPPORT OF FUCKING TERRORISM AND TERRORIST GROUPS. Do I fucking make myself fucking clear, blubbering bitches of beastial beauty? You are fucking helping, supporting, and expressing solidarity with 7th Century savages who want to kill anybody who isn't them. You are fucking helping savages who want to wipe the United States, Israel, and every other fucking civilized nation off the face of the earth. And you are fucking helping savages who support honor rapes and honor killings of "wayward" women, killing and torturing gay people, and killing just about anybody who doesn't agree that beating women, killing innocents, and fucking goatses are good ideas.
Oh, and the last time I checked, the Muslim Brotherhood was where Khalid Sheihkh (fuck it if my spelling is off. Stupid donkey fucker should get a better name) Mohammed made his bones in the terrorist world. You know who Khalid is, don't you? He is the fucking mastermind of the 9-11 murders. So, in that regard, the blood of over threefuckingthousand innocent people is on your fucking hands. And I sure the fuck hope you get called to account for any funds that come from the banner ad you placed with the Brotherhood.
And for what? What fucking goal do you wish to accomplish by supporting terrorists? What fucking good will this accomplish? Do you really fucking want radical Islamists emboldened with your support? Have you fucking thought through what your support means to the world? Have you fucking thought through your belief that supporting terrorists is a good idea for peace (ask the Oslo accords how that sort of shit works out)? Have you fucking thought through what your actions and support mean in this country? And, last but not least, do you seriously fucking think that the terrorists will spare you down the road? Seriously. I mean, fucking seriously. Cut through the bong water haze, put down daddy's checkbook for a moment, and think this shit through.
I would love to think that you are just naive dupes who think that your actions will help foster peace. I would love to think so, but I know you sick fucks. I know that you disgraceful people want to help terrorists for whatever sick reasons you have. I know you have a long track record of going out of your way to undermine the country that gave you the freedom to protest. I know you, and that is why I hate you. I hate you because your support of terrorists today is as bad as Jane Fonda in Hanoi. It is as bad as Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally. And it is as bad as the Fifth Column. And for that reason, I hope the worst possible fate befalls you. I hope you get into such a pinch that Daddy or Hubby can't write a check for you to bail your asses out. And I sure the fuck hope you wind up in a situation where you need American or Israeli assistance to extract your ungrateful asses out of your problem, so that you can see the decency of our side and the savagery of the other side.
So fuck off, Code Pink. Fuck off with a rectal suicide vest that only partially works.

In The UK, Who Is The More Dangerous Terrorist?
Seriously, I love mocking the British Nanny State as much as the next guy, but this is some scary shit. Apparently, some folks in the UK are treating Climategate as a "Domestic Terror" attack.
Norfolk Constabulary continues its investigations into criminal
offences in relation to a data breach at the University of East
Anglia. During the enquiry officers have been working in liaison with
the Office of the Information Commissioner and with officers from the
National Domestic Extremism Team. The UEA continues to co-operate with
the enquiry however major investigations of this nature are of
necessity very detailed and as a consequence can take time to reach a
conclusion. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.
Holy fucking shit! If my reading of this is correct, the Brits view Climategate to be on par with car bombings in Belfast or the attacks from a few years ago on the London Tube. If that is so, how fucking scary is that? And how long before this sort of thinking becomes mainstream in the world of Janet "The System Worked" Napolitano?
