Brother Of St. Louis Guy Beaten Up By SEIU Thugs Fired From His County Government Job

Keith Gladney, the brother of Kenneth Gladney, the guy who was beaten up by SEIU thugs back in the summer outside of a townhall in St. Louis County, was fired from his job in the St. Louis County Animal Control Agency. And the best part of this story? He was fired on December 23.

Also, consider some of these facts about the St. Louis County Government and its working relationships with (guess who?)

Is it surprising to learn that the Department of Health (the department that oversees the operations of Keith’s agency) works very closely with SEIU Local 1 on County Health related issues and policies?

And why now?  Of all times?  If they really wanted to punish Keith for his statements in favor of his brother’s case, why wait until now?

Is it a coincidence that this happens hours after the Senate finally got Pres. Obama’s Health Care Scheme passed through the Senate cloture vote and on its way to final ratification?

Could it be that the power structure in the county was waiting for the cloture vote so as to act from a position of political safety with no potential negative repercussions?

By the way, this is the same St. Louis County whose Prosecutor (Bob McCullough) helped form a "Truth Squad" in 2008 to help Obama's campaign by threatening to arrest anybody who "misled" about The Messiah. The same McCullough who has been less than exuberant in prosecuting the beatings. The same McCullough who is one of the longest serving political hacks in the St. Louis area. Coincidence?

If this isn't the epitome of the "Chicago Way" of politics, nothing is.

Awww....Too Bad!

Ember the Excellent sent this BBC article along about the collapse of the Copenhagen Climate Manbearpig Fuck The Global Economy Up Forever Conference, and it is full of the standard issue Euroweenieism and whining one would expect from our betters across the pond. Now, that in and of itself would be par for the course and unremarkable, except for this bullet point:

2. THE US POLITICAL SYSTEM

Just about every other country involved in the UN talks has a single chain of command; when the president or prime minister speaks, he or she is able to make commitments for the entire government.

Not so the US. The president is not able to pledge anything that Congress will not support, and his inability to step up the US offer in Copenhagen was probably the single biggest impediment to other parties improving theirs.

Viewed internationally, the US effectively has two governments, each with power of veto over the other.

Doubtless the founding fathers had their reasons. But it makes the US a nation apart in these processes, often unable to state what its position is or to move that position - a nightmare for other countries' negotiators.

OK. My response

Shocka! An AGW Alarmist Who Stands To Profit From All Of This Nonsense

Surprisingly, Manbearpig is not the only fool who stands to profit from the steaming bag of jackholishness that is Cap & Trade and Carbon Offsets. This guy from the UN also stands to make a killing.

A story emerging out of Britain suggests "follow the money" may explain the enthusiasm of the United Nations to pursue caps on carbon emissions, despite doubts surfacing in the scientific community about the validity of the underlying global warming hypothesis.A Mumbai-based Indian multinational conglomerate with business ties to Rajendra K. Pachauri, the chairman since 2002 of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC, stands to make several hundred million dollars in European Union carbon credits simply by closing a steel production facility in Britain with the loss of 1,700 jobs.

----

The Tata Group headquartered in Mumbai anticipates receiving windfall profits of up to nearly $2 billion from closing the Corus Redcar steelmaking plant in Britain, with about half of the savings expected to result from cashing in on carbon credits granted the steelmaker by the European Union under the EU's emissions trading scheme…

Corus has accumulated 7.5 million European Union surplus carbon allowances, or EUAs, given the company free by the EU, after corporate officials lobbied EU officials aggressively in Brussels. The Corus-owned 7.5 million EUAs are estimated at up to $650 million; the company also anticipates "saving" 6 million tons of carbon dioxide by closing the plant and not producing the plant's capacity of 3 million tons of steel. The 6 million tons of carbon dioxide is worth an estimated $130 million at current rates and possibly as much as $325 million at expected market levels.

You know, I am starting to wonder if all of this "Green" stuff really is more about fucking the developed countries for the benefit of a few assfisters in charge of the reins of power. Fuck this shit. Fuck it with the swinging fuck bag of fuckity fuck.

But that's just me.

Obamacare May Not Make It Through By Christmas?

Thankfully, it appears as though attempts by Harry Reid, with some questionable help from Mitch McConnell and his "let them vote for it and stand to face the public next year" strategy, to jam the unpopular Obamacare through the Senate before Christmas may face some tough sledding.

Progress on the Senate floor ground to a halt this past week. Lawmakers did not vote on any healthcare amendments Wednesday, Thursday or Friday as Reid and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) wrestled with each other to a stalemate in behind-the-scenes procedural disagreements.

“For a lot of people it looks fairly dim,” said Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), when asked about the chances of finishing the healthcare bill in the Senate by Christmas. “I don’t know what process the leader is going to use to try to move this forward.

“I know this is a situation where people are not anxious to hang around but there are folks who are threatening to delay it,” he added.

Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) said he is optimistic but “not overly optimistic because there’s a lot of nuance and the ball keeps moving.”

Senate Republican leaders have come under heavy pressure from conservative groups and pundits such as Rush Limbaugh to use every parliamentary tactic they can to slow down the bill.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who has frequently used procedural rules to slow down legislation this year, said he would force Democrats to file as many motions as possible to proceed to a final vote on the bill.

“I’ve heard calls from constituents and from around the country that Republicans should do everything they can to slow this down so I’m not going to give them any concessions on that,” he said.

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) estimates that it would take six or seven days to vote on a series of motions to end the GOP filibuster.

“There are three cloture votes and if [Republicans] make us walk us through all the lapsed time between the votes that’s what we’ll need,” he said.

It would take that much time to bring about a final vote on the bill because of its complex structure.

Good. Drag this fucker out and then kill it. And fuck anybody who either votes for it or doesn't help to kill it. Fuck them with a declining standard of living up their swordfish ravaged goatses for killing the innovation and improvements that come along when the dickgobblins in Government stay out of the way. Fuck them for trying to push through legislation that will deny treatments to the elderly or people with markers that would or could lead to cancer. And fuck them for trying to limit the pharmaceutical and medical companies, who come up with the new devices, procedures, treatments and medicines that save lives.

So fuck you, Senators. Fuck you for even trying to push this bill. And fuck you forever come next year.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism

Unless, of course, you happen to be the head of a group that is dissenting against Teh Won...

Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue is a wanted man -- at least according to the liberal activist group that's put a de facto bounty on his head.

A network of liberal groups known as Velvet Revolution started an ad campaign offering $200,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man whose trade organization has become a thorn in the side of the Obama administration and congressional Democrats.

The group is not leveling any specific charges of criminal behavior. Rather, it is casting a wide net, fishing for any whistleblowers from Donohue's past who might come forward with allegations of wrongdoing. The campaign against the Chamber was launched in response to the group's opposition to climate change legislation and health care reform, and its plan to spend $100 million lobbying against these and other initiatives.

Um, does anybody else remember this? (Link goes to the lefty site "Common Dreams.")

"A chill wind is blowing in this nation. A message is being sent through the White House and its allies in talk radio and Clear Channel and Cooperstown. 'If you oppose this Administration there can and will be ramifications.' Every day the airwaves are filled with warnings, veiled and unveiled threats, spewed invective and hatred directed at any voice of dissent. And the public ... sit in mute opposition and in fear."

Yeah, it sure was awful when the Baseball Hall of Fame put out a bounty on rescinded an invitation to Tim Robbins. And when the Bu$hitler White House declared war against various media outlets, using various degrees of, um, veildness.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Sure is cold out there.

"This $100 fine is rarely, if ever, going to be exercised unless you are blatantly violating the spirit or the letter of the law," the mayor said.
I'll be over here, in a part of the state where we don't provide subsidies for homeless people to live here, San Fran residents, laughing my ass off at you when that fine starts getting applied every week.

Too much ammo? The deuce!

This man was arrested and held for $500k in bail in the Soviet of Massachusetts for having too much ammo - 30,000 rounds in .38, .22, and 9mil calibers. He owns weapons in all three calibers. He bought the guns legally in New Hampshire, and was within the grace period in Massachusetts to obtain a firearms card.

Keni Garcia, a Dominican, had been scheduled to become a US Citizen.

Suspicious, yes. But a crime?

Garcia is charged with three counts of possession of a high-capacity firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and illegal storage of a firearm.

His lawyer insists no crime was committed, which I guess they all do, but the way this country is headed the only crime is not having enough ammo.

Comments on this page indicate Massachusetts does have extremely draconian gun laws, and the dude could be in some trouble.

The Deciders Have Decided On How To Handle The AGW Emails

Yup. Just as I would have imagined. The Wall Of Silence has gone up.

The documents appear to have been acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye, so they won’t be posted here.

Do I need to point out the irony of the NYT and WAPO breathlessly publishing anything and everything obtained through whatever legal or illegal means that would or could handicap anything a Republican would want to do?

Do I need to point out how the MSM used to hail leakers and hackers as heroes, so long as they helped undermine a policy or party with which they disagreed or helped advance an agenda they supported?

I could go on, but I think we all get the drift. This is a fucking joke. No wonder the NYT's stock price sucks ass.

Smoking voids your Mac warranty

Everybody knows smoking is cool, and owning a Mac is cool, but don't smoke around your Mac or you might void your warranty.

Apple views the smoke residue as a biohazard and an OSHA violation, so they won't fix your computer.

I'm a PC.  (And a non-smoker, except for the occasional cigar.)

Mammogram Bait and Switch

So, preventive medicine, early detection, screening, blah blah blah...

...unless you want a mammogram under the age of 50. Turns out, coincidentally enough, that age 40 isn't a great time to start getting mammograms.

(Blatantly stolen from my co-blogger at PAWatercooler, Lisa Mossie)

So, Obamacare will promote prevention and screening, because that will save money. Except when it won't.  (Guess who decides when it won't.)

Welcome to the politicization of medicine, comrade.  The truthiness shall set you free.

FDA messes with Moron Lifestyle

So alcohol is ok.  Caffeine is ok.  And people have been mixing them for seemingly forever in Rum & Coke, Irish Coffee, and, more recently, Red Bull & Vodka.

But companies had better not add caffeine to their adult beverage products, or the FDA will be on them like white on rice.

Are Leftists Turning On Their Own?

Not even a week after the Stupak Amendment became part of the Pelosicare bill, the left really is in a froth against Christians. It has become so bad, the "enlightened" ones are blaming Christianity for the housing crisis.

Ironically, many mainline Protestant groups, as well as the Catholic Church, worked hand in glove with groups such as ACORN to help provide low incoming housing for people in need. And this is how they are repaid? I hate to laugh at people of faith, especially many people of my own denomination, but how do many of the "devout" feel now that their former associates have turned on them in the name of political expediency?

Sorry, folks. You were too naive to understand what cozying up to a bunch of snakes like the Democrat Party would result in. Now you see.

Jack Reed Opens His Mouth To Predictably Laughable Results

Recently, Sen. Jack Reed (Dipshit-RI) tried to justify the Obamacare Provision that requires enrollment or jailtime. I wish I had more time and energy to devote to this mindles drivel, but just savor this stupidity.

When asked where specifically the Constitution authorized Congress to mandate that individuals buy health insurance, Sen. Jack Reed (D.-R.I.) said that he “would have to check the specific sections” but said that it was like making people “sign up for the draft.”

“Specifically where in the Constitution does Congress get its authority to mandate that individuals purchase health insurance?” CNSNews.com asked Reed.

“Let me see,” said Reed. “I would have to check the specific sections, so I’ll have to get back to you on the specific section. But it is not unusual that the Congress has required individuals to do things, like sign up for the draft and do many other things too, which I don’t think are explicitly contained [in the Constitution].  It gives Congress a right to raise an army, but it doesn’t say you can take people and draft them. But since that was something necessary for the functioning of the government over the past several years, the practice on the books, it’s been recognized, the authority to do that.”

Sooo....Reed is equating Healthcare Conscription with the Draft? Wow. Wrap yourself around that one.

Tinpot Soviet Dictator Richard Daley blames American gun culture for jihadi attack

Says Comrade Daley,

“Unfortunately, America loves Guns. We love guns to a point where that uh we see devastation on a daily basis. You don’t blame a group.”

Video is here

Now, what I find amusing about this is that we have our little Commie dictator Daley bitching about American gun culture, yet this is the same guy who last year advocated for a brief amnesty period for people who forgot to register their long guns in the Soviet of Chicago.  Of course, he only did this once he found out that powerful city Alderman Richard Mell forgot to register his collection of firearms (who of course blamed his staffers for failing to register his personal firearm collection).

In Chicago, if you forget or otherwise fail to register your guns yearly with the police, your guns are unregistered, illegal to own, and can be confiscated, and you can be charged with illegal possession.  Mell actually helped write this legislature and pass it, oddly enough.  They apparently only granted amnesty to about 25 people, according to Wiki.  Bet they all were big donors to Daley or Mell or somehow connected to power players in Chicago.

Remember kids, if you're liberal enough, powerful enough, and have enough connections, you too can have constitutional rights in Chicago!

I don't get the same message

Here's a very sad story about a man who died far too young and the wife and children he left behind.  It's supposed to make you believe that we need national health care, but that's not what it pushes me too.

It pushes me the other way.

She believes, as does the writer apparently, that if only we had nationalized health care, records would easily follow patients, and diagnoses would be quick, and paperwork would be readily available, and nurses would feed patients even before they were formally admitted.

I see things the other way around:  it's very easy, under a heavily bureaucratic system, to kick the can uphill.  "Sorry, I can't do that because it's against regulations" is the easiest excuse in the book, and it's the one you'll get from 99% of all government workers.

Think of going to the DMV for your medical records.

It seems clear that there was poor handling of her husband.  But she believes that more government will make it better?

I don't believe it.  Not in a million jillion years.
