"I say that Foer's ethical charge against animal eating is brave because not only is it unpopular, it has also been characterized as unmanly, inconsiderate, and juvenile. But he reminds us that being a man, and a human, takes more thought than just "This is tasty, and that's why I do it." He posits that consideration, as promoted by Michael Pollan in The Omnivore's Dilemma, which has more to do with being polite to your tablemates than sticking to your own ideals, would be absurd if applied to any other belief (e.g., I don't believe in rape, but if it's what it takes to please my dinner hosts, then so be it).
Thanks to Alice.
Sigh. Now I need a pick me up.

With votes for Cap & Tax and Obamacare looming, I have to wonder which GOP Senators will sell us out to help push through these shit sandwiches. Of course, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are your clubhouse leaders, but what other RINO "Moderates" will stab us in the back? My choice is, not surprisingly, Lindsey Graham ("Republican"-SC), who looks ready to win Dickfisting Bullblaster of The Year Award with this statement.
Fuck you, Senator Graham.Fuck you with a broken jar full of pushpins and thumbtacks. You want to fuck this country up the chute, just so you can be loved by the DC Beltway? If so, why don't I offer a visual depiction of what I think of you and your vote?

“Let me emphasize something very strongly as we begin this discussion,†Kerry said. “The United States has already this year alone achieved a 6% reduction in emissions simply because of the downturn in the economy, so we are effectively saying we need to go another 14%.
Via IHateTheMedia, who takes some almost-too-easy potshots at John Kerry and his methods of rescuing his personal economy.
Oh, and by the way...good morning global warmening! We usually don't get our first sticking snow until Halloween.
