I will be so glad when the primaries are over

I'm not sure which is worse - that Jane Norton tried to spin this in an email that Ken Buck said that he's sick of Tea Partiers, or that Ken Buck doesn't realize that the Tea Party is about as organized as Anonymous, and so it's about as useful to tell one of them to get control of their group as it is to herd cats.

On an audio tape obtained by The Denver Post, Buck was caught muttering "will you tell those dumba---s at the Tea Party to stop asking questions about birth certificates while I'm on the camera?" outside a June 11 event in Crowley.
This election cycle and the excuses made for some of the candidates have made me sick, and I've lost respect for some people (who shall remain nameless) that I really thought were moral and upstanding and believed in doing the right thing.

I almost forgot why I hate Mike Huckabee

Oh wait. No. I didn't forget. It's because of crap like this:

Yeah, that's a Sestak ad.

(Oh - McCain, Grahamnesty? I see what you did there.)

While I have occasionally found the Club's tactics and strategic sense wanting, its philosophy is pretty much right on. The Club is not for "the ultra rich". The Club is for free enterprise, which is distinct from saying it is "for business" or "big business" or "the rich", which might more aptly describe other groups like the pro-Obama-Stimulus Chamber of Commerce.

Small businesses often get screwed by the "pro business" lobby because the business lobby too often cares about building a government funded moat around their businesses and leeching off the system. Small Biz can't pull that off like Big Biz can. The best Small Biz can realistically hope for is a level playing field. The Club is for All Biz, not just big or small biz.

The Club for Growth was against the bailouts and the stimulus. Joe Sestak was for them. Who's really for "the rich"?

Bob Inglis and his ilk can get bent

I'll preface this rant by saying that yes, sometimes the Tea Partiers say silly things, and yes, sometimes they don't know what's good for them. That said...

Bob Inglis is the very definition of the problem with the Republican party. He's denouncing racist Tea Partiers, Palin, Beck for a whole host of sins, including "demagoguery", and blaming them for his pathetic failure in the Republican primary.  Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Daily Caller reports:

He cited a claim made famous by Palin that the Democratic health care bill would create “death panels” to decide whether elderly or sick people should get care.

“There were no death panels in the bill … and to encourage that kind of fear is just the lowest form of political leadership. It’s not leadership. It’s demagoguery,” said Inglis, one of three Republican incumbents who have lost their seats in Congress to primary and state party convention challengers this year.

Bob, the whole damn Obamacare mess is a giant death panel. Care will be rationed, and people will be denied care as a result. That's an undeniable truth. Is "death panel" great persuasive language for swing voters? No. But at it's core, it's essentially true.

Here's what really gets my dander up:

Inglis said he was shocked during the health care votes as he watched protesters jeering Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat who was beaten as a leading civil rights activist in the 1960s.

Inglis said he was too far away during the jeering incident to hear whether the protesters shouted racial epithets, as Lewis and other black lawmakers have claimed. But Inglis said the behavior was threatening and abusive.

“I caught him at the door and said, ‘John, I guess you’ve been here before,’” Inglis said

No, Bob. It didn't happen. That entire event was a fabrication. Countless cell phone videos showed nothing of the sort, and nobody has stepped up to claim Andrew Breitbart's sizable bounty.

Inglis, 50, who calls himself a Jack Kemp disciple because he has emphasized outreach to minorities as the late Republican congressman did, thinks racism is a part of the vitriol directed at President Barack Obama.

“I love the South. I’m a Southerner. But I can feel it,” he said.

Go to hell, Bob.

No, Ari. We need to Fire Pelosi

Ari Fleischer and some others on our side aren't necessarily rooting for a Republican House majority.  Fleischer wants Granny Rictus running the show with a one vote majority, reasoning that (1) Republicans aren't ready to take power and (2) we'll have a harder time beating Obumbles in 2012.

And while #1 is a definite concern, and #2 is a possibility, the nation can't afford another two days of Speaker Pelosi, let alone another two years.  Sure, with a very narrow majority Pelosi would have a hard time jamming through anything truly abominable, but she'd still control the agenda.  Sorry, Ari, but I'm not comfortable with that.

And if we can't get a Republican House majority in 2010 with the shape the nation is in and with all the stupid crap the Obama/Pelosi/Reid triumvirate has inflicted upon us, then the GOP is in deep crap for 2012 anyway.

Bob Barker-esque freakshow Florida governor scrubs pro-life section of his campaign website

And the GOP leadership backed this Bob Barker-lookin' freakshow over Rubio.  You know, for a bunch of ignorant wingnut redneck racist teabaggers, we seem to be doing a hell of a lot better at this politics thing then you overpaid fucktards are.  Not only that, he offered up supporting ending the secret ballot for unionization votes.  Beating Charlie Crist needs to be defeated in Florida first, that's task number one, but after that, efforts need to be made to drive the establishment idiots out of power who supported Crist.

This is what happens when you completely destroy your own credibility within your own base, GOP leaders

I don't necessarily fault people who are going for more extreme candidates, and in some cases, candidates with a case of teh crazeepants.  This is exactly what happens when your party leadership destroys its own credibility.  The guy might be a full on crazypants like the state GOP leadership states he is, but people aren't going to take their word for it, because they've been lied to and burned one too many times by the Republican Party.

That said, we're going to have to see what happens, if either the leadership unfucks itself and starts making real efforts to regain the trust of the base (not seeing signs that this is happening), or if the base gets more active and more savvy as far as recruiting, funding and choosing candidates.

Things Trey Grayson wouldn't have done, pt. 1

Part 1 of a continuing series, to be sure.  Rand Paul has canceled his planned appearance on Meet the Press, something that usually gives a candidate who's actually a good candidate tons of free, positive exposure (see Rubio, Marco), because he's had a "long week."

Jackass. And I'd like to thank Erick Erickson, Sen. Jim DeMint, and all the other people who endorsed Paul over a perfectly qualified candidate, whose only sin was serving the people of Kentucky.

Why The British Coalition Government Is Doomed To Fail

David Brooks supports it, complete with the same set of buzzwords he uses when not polishing Obama's knob.

In so doing, he {PM Cameron} has changed the nature of his own party, and the nature of the Liberal Democrats, his coalition partner. If he had a small majority, he would have been hostage to his most ideological members. As it is, he has potentially weakened the strong partisans in both parties, empowered the pragmatists {sigh-ed} who are better-suited to coalition politics and created a less polarized political climate.

Matthew Parris, also of The Times of London, writes that watching Cameron and Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrats’ leader, “was like witnessing a coup. Millions of viewers will have shared my impression almost of watching two men staging a putsch against their own parties, against the entire British political system, and against the ingrained assumptions of more than a century of parliamentary government.” Parris sees the potential for a softening of the normal adversarial culture, a strengthening of the sort of leader who likes compromise and a weakening of the sort that detests it {and how much you wanna bet that the first time Cameron does something Clegg doesn't like, we see a Vote of No Confidence?-ed}.

Fuck consensus. Fuck compromise and ignoring the base of people who helped get you to where you are, only to embrace somebody who will stab you in the fucking back the first chance he gets. Just ask Bob Bennett what happens when you tell your people that they don't fucking matter and that "consensus" and "getting things done" matter more than winning or losing on a fucking set of fucking ideas. Yeah, we will lose from time to time, and we must (sometimes) be a little more flexible in who and where we support certain candidates, but having a core value means something. But the fucking geniuses in the RNC and the RINOs like Brooks try to scold us and tell us that they and their 1962 Metsesque string of failure and incompetence is the way to go.

But wait! Brooksie gets better.

Cameron has the opportunity to look less like a party leader and more like a national leader. Today’s coalition will compel the Tories to formulate policies in new ways, and lodge them closer to the center of the electorate {yeah. Because being a strident ideologue with the courage of convictions always fails against the backdrop of limpness. Just compare and contrast Thatcher to Major or Blair to Brown-ed}

It helps that the Conservative government has already moved to a more communitarian “Big Society” governing philosophy. No longer purely free market, the Tories emphasize rebuilding social bonds {oh fuck me with an alligator's tooth! The Free Market made the British Empire while the social welfare and social compact movement has ruined it-ed}. That means they speak less about slashing government as a matter of principle {and that is bad?-ed} and more about improving it and decentralizing power {but not getting rid of it. And where does this newly decentralized power now go? To the people/commerce, or to the traffic cameras in every town?-ed} This little platoons approach has left- and right-wing variants and has the potential to break down the old ideologies {somehow lost in all of this a freaking understanding of what has worked and what has failed. But an Ivy League Swell like Brooksie is too smart to catch that one-ed}.

Of course, it all could fail. The parties could reject the implant. In U.S. terms, it’s like a marriage between Marco Rubio (The Tory base) and the accumulated wisdom of the Ivy League (the Liberal Democrats) {what the fuck does Rubio have to do with this, given his free market views? That is, unless Brooks concedes that the bases of the conservative parties are at war with their "leaders". In that case, the Rubio/Crist, Bennett/UT GOP, Dede/Hoffman references do match. And what the fuck does the Ivy League have to do with this? Listening to Ivies like Brooks when we should be listening to the businessmen in Sheboygan is what fucked us all over the fuckbarrel the last few years-ed} But Cameron and Clegg are nothing if not flexible {whoa! So they can bend forward and suck their own wangs? That is impressive!-ed}. The entire political class understands what needs to be done {do they? Prove it, ovalfuck-ed}. The financial markets will insist on some serious budgetary restraint.

Without any planning but by sheer good luck, the British may have stumbled into an arrangement that will be a model for all the other countries in the same desperate straits {OK. So if the GOP cleans up this fall, are you going to urge them to be more Obama-like, or urge Obama to adapt to the GOP? So far, he has not been flexible, and our willingness to stand up to him and his policies have helped us gain with the voters. Maybe impasse, gridlock, al or nothing elections, and a clear difference, and not muddle, is what has helped us over the past 220 years or so-ed}.

Seriously, Brooksie, fuck you. Fuck you with a six nippled fucksheep's discharge. Fuck your desire to see consensus now that leftism is set to lose while you urged us to yield to the statists last year. Fuck you for telling us that giving in to "get things done" is better than standing firm, planting your sword in the ground like a Gurkha, and saying, "none shall pass", especially when the "get things done" mantra only applied to fucking up healthcare and the economy, while actually fucking doing something about a real threat (illegal immigration) was deemed awful by you and your Cocktail Party Circuit. Fuck you for telling us we need to reach across the aisle, when doing so leads to disaster for the country with shitty laws being passed. Fuck you for telling us that you and the candlefuckers you associate with are better suited to run things than some hick from the sticks, when all you have done is lead to systems, policies, and political calculations that have put us on the path to ruin. Fuck you for stating that the belief in the free market should give way to the gobbledygook you preach (while you worked for a time for the man who was one of the spiritual and intellectual leaders of the Reagan movement), when your gobbledyfuckinggook is what fails to get us out of trouble. And fuck you for being such a smarmy, arrogant, nasty jackass who can't admit your way is destined to fail and wouldn't know reality if it spit in your pate spread tonight.

You see, Brooksie. Right about now, your beloved coalition building in this country (namely, we give in to Obama) is about to face in November the same sort of trouble that Caffa faced when plague bloated corpses were catapulted at it. And the best part? You and your ilk have no idea it is coming. And when it does, any Not Obama who takes your inevitable advice of giving in for the greater good (after winning on a "Fuck Statism" platform) needs to get the trepanation of fuck and sent back to Fucksville.

So get fucked, flexible coalition style, Brooksie. And use a can of Spotted Dick for lube.

Sen. Dick Lugar (R - UT, apparently)

Sen. Bob Bennett shouldn't be having such trouble in the Utah GOP primary.  Why? Because Sen. Lugar says so, that's why!

Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) said, “I am deeply concerned that he faces opposition that I don’t believe is warranted."

How about this asshole: they people of Utah get to decide if it's warranted, not you.

Thank God for term(inator) limits

How do you say "Gee, thanks, you enormous fucking roid-addled douche" in German?

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist made headlines last week when he announced he was leaving the Republican Party and continuing his run for the U.S. Senate as an independent. Now, it appears Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was among those who encouraged Crist to make the move.
Any doubts I may have had about him being a piece of shit RINO asshole have now been erased. I'm ashamed to have ever voted for the stupid, squishy motherfucking unprincipled fuckface.

Cornyn: Hmm, I'm noticing a sharp pain all of a sudden, as if I've been kicked in the balls repeatedly by my own political base

Odd that.  Cornyn says the Rubio/Crist primary was a learning lesson for him, and offers this,

"In this political environment," Cornyn said, "it's not necessarily helpful for candidates running in the states to have the national party chairman" endorse them.

Oh, I'm not so sure of that, it's more that the NRSC under Cornyn's leadership has demonstrated such profound tone-deafness and ignorance in their endorsement choices and statements, that they've provoked a nasty reaction from their own political base, who have decided the assorted GOP leaders are too incompetent to be trusted with doing this task anymore.

Cornyn has this too,

"More than any time than I've seen in the recent past," Cornyn added, "instead of a Contract for America [voters] want a Contract from America."

Cornyn said that voters don't want to "have their choices made" for them by the political elite. They want those in Washington to hear their voices.

See, he's got this wrong...which is of course typical, as he's a Republican in a leadership position, after all.  Also, this is partially wrong,

The more complicated truth, say top GOP officials from both wings of the party, is that an ornery conservative base is expressing its disgust for Republicans who have both flagrantly defied the party and represent a distrusted political establishment.

It’s not just that Crist has veered from party orthodoxy, though that’s part of it. Rather, he and his fellow endangered GOP centrists have been tagged as insiders at a time when voters are disgusted by Washington specifically and incumbents generally.

Yeah, we're damned pissed at the GOP leadership for their laziness and defying even the most basic principles of the Republican Party, but that's an oversimplification of what is happening here.  The base isn't simply pissed at centrists, or we'd be railing against Scott Brown, and we're not doing that.  Rather, we resent like hell the fact that, in essence, we elected/hired you, the GOP leadership, to do a job, and you're doing a fucking wretched one.

Conservatives as a whole aren't exactly enthused by the thought of getting deeply involved in government, as it's a dirty, filthy, corrupt and corrupting force, whereas liberals view government as a religion and pseudo-god, so they're happy to wallow in the mud.  Conservatives are more than happy to vote, occasionally donate, maybe even volunteer a bit for the cause, but unlike leftists, who again, worship government power, they'd much rather be working and advancing in our careers/entrepreneurial endeavors, raising families and pursuing interests than have lives revolve around government and the party.  Conservatives resent like hell that not only did the GOP not do a job that conservatives hired them to do, not only were they impotent in resisting the left, but also complicit in helping create this leviathan.  The GOP has proven so fucking unreliable that conservatives are forced to take time away from their own lives to fix the disaster.  And they aren't happy about it.

Reason 7,192,982,300,923,828 Why I No Longer Give Money To The RNC

Fuck you, Newt. Stay on that couch with Pelosi.

Gingrich, who figures prominently in speculation about the 2012 presidential race {how? As a popcorn salesman at the Convention?-ed}, tells NBC's "Today" show Steele "is capable of taking us through the midterm elections {so is my daughter's doll collection. Maybe you should send the $$ to her. At least she won't waste it at bondage clubs-ed}." But he also suggests the embattled party chairman appoint an outsider to bring the party's finances under control.

Newt, it's fuckbaskets like you, Steele, the people who thought Dede of NY-23 was a wise choice, and the supporters of Crist who have brought us to this point. Or, are you too stupid to realize that?

Thanks

Unhelpful

Foxnews, in their campaign to bring the worst of the right wing to power, tries their amateurish hand at propaganda over the tea parties.

Notice that they "debunk" "myths" that are actually just humdrum, ordinary facts.
For instance, their number one 'false attack'
1) Calling them “racist”

Well, the tea partiers are, by definition, racist.
They are opposing the policies of our wise, perhaps too intellecual, but most importantly, African-American president.
They are therefore,QED, racist.

The Republican Party needs to distance themselves from these "people" or they shall surely not be invited to all the best parties and might face ostracism from all the right people.

Great Video - If only I could believe that they believed it

Let''s face it, as the lesser of two evils, as the only viable option to the destructive policies of the Dems, and as the only (at least semi) conservative option that isn't filled with batshit crazy types who secretly long for a theocracy,  a return to the glory days of the antebellum south, or just want to be able to buy heroin from street corner vending machine, you have to go with the GOP.  That said I would like to echo a Tea Partier from last summer, "Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining".  (If only the Tea Party would a) get rid of that stupid ass name, b) get a little more organized, and c) publish a national platform)  Seriously Republican Governors, you can sit there with a straight face after the fiascoes of Ah-nuld and Romney-care, with Newt (I have sold my soul) Gingrich as one of the first shots in your commercial and talk about leading America to new days of glory?

Really?

Really Really?

Excuse me I have to go vomit now.

Not gonna happen now

So, Newt is apparently visiting Iowa.  Yeah, it's not gonna happen for ya Newt, people who don't follow politics hate you because the media tells them to, the ones who do follow politics and would have potentially supported a Newt run now hate you for being a sellout.  Newt has abandoned conservatism or Republicanism and embraced "getting things done" as his core philosophy, and political environment is not one that will friendly to those guided by "getting things done."

The GOP Senators Not Named Coburn or DeMint Once Again Prove Their Wicked Awesome Smarts

What. The. Fuck? Seriously, you guys can't be this stupid, can you? Oh wait, this is the Senate GOP we are talking about, so this idiocy is par for the course.

These are the same geniuses who are trying to tell us Mitch McConnell is leadership material, Charlie Crist and Carly Of Demonsheep Fame are the future, and that Pat Toomey was a bad choice over Arlen Specter. And then they call us names when we tell them to get fucked with a box of pushpins if we *gasp* dare ask them to fight the left instead of trying to appease them.

But all is not lost. Kay Bay will be out of the Senate soon, and (hopefully) Rick Perry will do all he can to help put Michael Williams in her seat. Joe mentioned that this Williams guy has potential to be a kick assingly ass kicker, and I hope he can help change the Culture of Stupid in the Not Obama crowd.

So take heart, folks. Help may be on the way. Too bad the Senate GOP is too stupid to realize it.

Leave It To Newt Gingrich To Snatch Defeat From The Jaws Of Not Defeat

Good fucking grief! What the fuck are you doing, Mister Speaker? What teh fuck fuck fuckity fucking with the gavel fuck are you doing? Work with these fucking assholes? Seriously?

Sadly, I think you are serious.

The Republicans should not be afraid to walk in with a series of positive ideas and to work with Democrats on legislation in a genuinely bipartisan fashion. Some GOP partisans so deeply distrust Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate majority leader Harry Reid that they assume even meeting with them is an act of betrayal. But Republicans should have confidence that they can always say no to bad ideas. Indeed, they should be open to the possibility of finding supportable measures that would be good for the country and totally compatible with their values.

Which would mean saying "no" to anything Obama offers.

Look, why should I listen to a guy who walked into budget negotiations with Bill Clinton, only to be surprised that he would roll him? Why should I listen to a guy who urges bi-partisanship when the voting public is saying "hell no" to the current Obamacare proposals? Why should I listen to a guy who tried to play nice with the media and Democrat establishment (the Mediacrats) that openly mocked and refused to return the favor? And why the fuck should I listen to a guy urging bipartisanship when telling the Democrats and their plans to fuck off with the brush they use in curling worked in NJ, VA, and MA?

Mister Speaker, Obama is wither going to push his piece of shit legislation through via parliamentary tricks, or he won't, regardless of what we do; the fact that he hasn't done so already suggests he is having trouble, so why help him? Why help him ruin the country, especially when the country is ready to punish him and his party later this year? Adn why help piss off a good part of your own party's base over something your party doesn't want?

Mister Speaker, I loved what you did in 1994, so please learn your own lessons from that time and realize that this is a different time, with different rules, problems, and solutions. Helping this crowd, especially since they told us just last year that "shut up" and "I won" were reasonable debate points, negates any reward for bipartisanship and makes efforts toward such self defeating and foolish. And helping them off the ropes only will piss off and alienate those of us who are ready to vote the party you used to lead back into power.

I wish you well, Mister Speaker. But please stop sitting next to Nancy Pelosi. Her botox is seeping into your brain, and the results are not pretty.
