The Left Never Wanted A Debate

I am usually lukewarm about dealing with Reason Magazine, but this story by Matt Welch regarding his encounter with a union fool leading a protest outside of Whole Foods was funny and telling.

After making my purchase with more enthusiasm than usual, I was handed another flyer from some peppy UFCW gals {wow. Union clowns involved in a pro-Obama protest. Who knew?-ed}, including the bold-italic question du jour: "Do you really want your shopping dollars going to executives who are undermining President Obama?" One of them asked me (quoting from memory), "Are you aware that Whole Foods CEO John Mackey recently wrote an op-ed attacking national health care?"

"Yes," I replied with a smile. "I read the whole thing." As I walked away one of the gals said, in genuine wonder and disappointment, "Wow...."

Yup. These fools never expected or wanted a debate. They thought they could ram Obamacare through, and everybody would just sit back and take it. They thought packing town halls with ACORN types, bringing in union thugs to beat up opponents, and an Enchanted Media still shilling for them would suffice.

They thought wrong. They didn't prepare for, or anticipate the passion behind, the protests to Obama and his Hopey Changey Astroglide Treatment. They didn't know what to do when a person with an IQ above that of rock salt would counter their bullshit. They didn't believe that the opposition would be as organized and passionate as we have been. And seeing them reduced to quivering piles of stupidity is fucking awesome.

Oh, and Team Socialism, try as you might, we won't fucking go away. Fuck you. Fuck you sideways with a sock in your mouth, with me pissing on you in joy.
