The pettiness, it is strong with me

I have no plans to watch Obama's speech tonight, mainly because there are important things like US Open tennis to watch. But I noticed people commenting about how he doesn't plan on crediting the surge for working. No! You lie! Obama's not going to give credit to someone else? You. Lie.

Here's the part that interested me: "Gibbs said Obama plans to call Bush before the speech".

I hope Bush refuses the call.  Seriously, I hope he refuses to take it.  Why should he?  Why on earth should he speak to a man who has done nothing but insult and slur him?  I'm unaware of any law that requires a private citizen to speak to the President.  Of course, common courtesy would lead Bush to take the call but I'm of the strong opinion that one extends the same level of courtesy to another person as that person has shown.  Based on Obama's actions toward Bush, Bush is entitled to publicly insult Obama.

Now, he won't.  We all know that he won't.  He's a decent person and has an appreciation for the dignity that should be displayed by former Presidents.  Yes, I'm looking at you Clinton.  But still.  It's a nice little fantasy to imagine Obama getting a bit of comeuppance.

A Response To Arrogant Leftists

In the recent debate over everything involving America today, the cries of racism, bigotry, and everything else the left has remaining in their rhetorical bag of tricks after seeing their legislative plans crash and burn the economy are, as The Hammer puts it, representative of desperation. That alone would be bad enough, but this paragraph demonstrates why the left, and their RINO enablers, need to be tossed out in November:

But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.

Amen. And while Dr. Krauthammer can pen better words in his sleep than I ever can, please allow me to add a little something to the left:

WTF is wrong with Philly, part eleventy billion and two

If any of our PA bloggers weren't previously disincentivized to move to Philadelphia, they will be now.

After dutifully reporting even the smallest profits on their tax filings this year, a number — though no one knows exactly what that number is — of Philadelphia bloggers were dispatched letters informing them that they owe $300 for a privilege license, plus taxes on any profits they made.
Now if we can just find a 7-year-old to blog about her lemonade stand in Philly...

I agree with you, you lying sack of shit.

Sputter.
Now my opinion of NY pols is that they're all scum. Lying, corrupt, elitist scum with a gigantic sense of entitlement.
Further, I believe that they've managed to totally destroy one of the greatest economic engines this world has ever seen.
Quote
The history of Albany is littered with corruption and broken promises.

I'm with you on that. But here's where the wheels fall off.

For decades, Republicans conducted backroom deals for their own benefit and the benefit of the special interests fueling their campaigns.

While I agree, there were always Dems in those backrooms because you can't get shit done in NY without the Dem leadership.

All the while, New Yorkers shouldered the burden of sky-high tax rates, out-of-control spending, and fiscal gimmickry that hid the true costs of their irresponsibility.

Mario who? Good work NY Senate Dems dot com(pletely insane).
Okay, the sheer balls and  blatant sense that they think NY's electorate are fools and idiots is just unbelievable.

Of course, considering that no matter how often NY pols rub shit into their "constituents'" faces they still get re-elected, maybe I'm the idiot.
Eh, there's  a reason I left that shithole state.

Funniest part? I saw the ad at Ace's and assumed it was a joke.

In defense of hate

Yes, I am defending hate.  There are times when hate is the proper response.  There are beliefs and actions which are so vile that hate is not only an appropriate, but indeed, necessary response.  Thus, I pose the following questions:

Can someone explain to me why I'm not allowed to hate people who actually oppress and abuse those who convert to a different faith? Why am I not supposed to hate those who want to kill me?  Seriously, why not?  How are many, if not most, of the tenets of Wahhabi Islam not hateful to decent human beings?  Why am I not supposed to hate those who stone women (and men on occasion) for adultery?  Why should I not hate those who hang gays?  Why should I not hate those who blow up men and women and children?  Why not?  If that is not worthy of hate, then can anyone tell me what is?

The exception to the rule

I portray myself as a free speech absolutist. As with all rules, there is an exception to that. The Westboro Baptist freaks need to be told to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up. Too bad a federal judge disagrees and struck down the Missouri law against picketing at a funeral.

I'm not going to get into the legalities of this because, really, I cannot possibly be objective when it comes to Fred Phelps (Democrat) and his merry band of jackals.  I will say, though, that I am very very tired of the legal blackmail in which the Phelps clan engages.  What do I mean by that?  Well, it's fairly simple.  Phelps et al engage in activities which cause normal, decent human beings to want to beat them until all they can do is bleed.  But if that takes place, then Phelps et al turns around and sues for the damages.  That leaves turning to the courts for assistance but the courts are continuing to rule against those trying to hold Phelps and his ilk to the standards of common decency.  Phelps wants the protection of civilization without abiding by the social contract to not be a fucking tool at a funeral.  That makes Alex something something.

I do not comprehend why Westboro's actions are not considered harassment.  I truly do not understand why those actions are not considered fighting words.  Truly, I don't.  These protests are nearly the Platonic ideal of provocative speech.  Provocation causes a response.  I say let them protest and then let those responding to the speech act in the appropriate manner.  Until that time comes, tell Westboro to shut up.

Transparency! I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Jerry Brown. The gift that keeps on giving. So. It seems that dear former and trying to be again Gov. Brown, who, iirc, was making noises about going after the Bell, CA paychecks, is receiving a secret pension.

Can someone explain to me how the hell it is that a public servant's pension is secret?  Seriously, how?  There was a stink here a few years back when some watchdog group filed suit to find out how much Joe Pa was getting paid.  You know what?  The group was right, he's a public employee, his salary should be public.  Same thing with pensions.  If the public's paying it, the public has a right to know how much it is.

Really? I Mean, Fucking Really?!?

Seriously. What the fuckity fucking the fuckramp with the flying fuckbeagle of fuck is this fuckwater?

Given that they {Muslims}are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat. Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm {Optics?!? What the fuck do you fucking call buildings falling from the fucking sky and 3000 people dying? Optics?!?-ed}. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell.  The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion {yeah, and so did seeing our nation attacked. But what the fuck do I fucking know?-ed}. While the loss of even a single life is to be condemned and the devastation these deaths caused the families of those killed, more than this number of teens are killed every year in car crashes {a bit tu quoque, but what about you guys mocking our assertions that more people were killed in Detroit on a given day than in Iraq or Afghanistan?-ed}. These are also tragic losses but we do not make the kind of high profile issue of it that the 9/11 attacks are.

No, Fuckdiggler McFucklick, we don't because, while horrible, a teenager killed on "Blood Alley Road" is not the fucking same as fucking seeing four of our fucking airplanes used as missiles against us. Johnny Varsity losing his life is not the fucking same as fucking seeing people jump 100 stories to their fucking deaths because that was preferable to being burned alive because of some of your fucking optics. And we make a fucking high profile issue out o f 9/11 because it was a fucking act of fucking war against the United States of Amerifuckingca by animals who wanted to kill and scare as many fucking people as they could. And striking back was and always fucking will be the fucking proper course of action when our homeland is attacked.

Seriously, fuck you, braindead fuckbuddy of the fuckplunger of fuck. Fuck your indifference and implicit mockery of how people felt and continue to feel about one of the deadliest attacks on American soil, an attack that went out of its way to kill civilians for the crime of being alive, in order to defend a political argument. Fuck you for trying to minimize and trivialize the fucking deaths of innocent humans because you think you can score political points by doing so. And fuck you for your refusal to acknowledge that the "optics" of a mosque close enough to the hole in the ground created by fucking followers of the Religion of Peace  may not be the best thing going right now.

Fuck you, Kos Kid. Fuck you for your douchebaggery. Fuck you for trying to embrace those who wish to kill and mock us in the name of "tolerance". Fuck you for being so fucking clueless on the 9/11 attacks that you seem to equate them with a smokebomb in your neighbor's mailbox. Fuck fucking fuckwaffles like yourself who fail to realize that we are at FUCKING WAR with the people who want to plant a victory flag too damn fucking fuckity fuck close to the ground where they attacked us. Fuck you for being so clueless about terrorism that you are scary. And double mega fuck you with the fuckmixer from the concrete of fuck for being part of the coalition of the fucking stupid and dangerously clueless that helped put into power those who think nothing of weakening and humiliating ourselves in the name of tolerance.

Fuck you, Kos Kid. Fuck you and your flaming fuckabolic fuckbrain on fucking stupid for even being able to write what you wrote. May you get fuckkebabbed by the souls of the people killed on 9/11 for minimizing and dismissing their deaths.

WAH WAH! MY LIFE IS HARD!

Not as hard as the dick you're eating, you preening douchebag.

Christ, how can a president be this useless?  Watching him 'run' the country is like watching retards fuck.  I knew he was an incompetent, arrogant prick but I figured he'd at least be able to manage the political angle.  He's proven to be ridiculously inept at even that.  Seems that, more than any other flaw, him believing his own hype is the most damaging thing to him.  Not only did America believe that he could heal our wounds by just TRYING REALLY HARD but he did too.

Stupid.  Motherfucking.  Communist.  Shithead.

Thanks for a. the lawlessness and b. getting me beaten Your Honor!

No, I haven't read the Prop. 8 decision.  No, I don't intend to do so.  That's not going to stop me from giving my thoughts. Uninformed opinion, it's what's for dinner!

Marriage is a religious matter, not a civil matter.  If the State is going to inject itself into recognition of marriage, then the State can define the terms of what will and will not be recognized on a civil basis.  If the citizens of the State cannot make their voices heard, then there will be, and should be, utter contempt for the judiciary.  If judges are determined to overrule any and all attempts by the citizenry to state what the laws of that state will be, then this is judicial tyranny.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Attempts to equate sexuality with race are repugnant.  I'm not going to get into whether sexuality is innate or learned (no freaking clue I think it's some of both).  However, the expression of sexuality is within the individual's control.  Sexuality is not race.  Race is not sexuality.  Treating different groups of people differently may be discriminatory in the sense of treating things differently.  That does not mean that it is discriminatory in the sense of prejudice against that group.  There is nothing wrong with treating different groups differently.  There is nothing unconstitutional about that.  It is far past time that any attempts to differentiate between groups are thrown out as "discriminatory".

I cannot see any logical rationale against polygamy or first cousin marriage now.  Seriously, I can't.  Child marriage and beastiality are covered by the lack of capacity of the other party to provide consent.  Sibling marriage can be covered by concerns about genetic anomalies.  Of course, what about my situation where my brother and I are adopted and have different biological parents?  Someone explain to me the logical reasons, upon the terms of this ruling, as to why we can't marry.  Good luck with that.

I know the shrieking will begin that those examples are taking this decision to the extreme but here's the thing.  Precedents expand.  It is very rare that precedents contract.  There will be challenges to laws against polygamy and cousin marriage.  Those challenges will cite this decision.  If the traditional reasons for restricting marriage to man and woman are rejected, then there are no grounds for those restrictions either.  This opens the floodgates and anyone who claims otherwise is stunningly naive.

No wonder people freaking hate me.  Hell, I'd hate me too if I didn't know that I don't agree with those who claim to speak for me.  How am I supposed to claim there's not some type of gay conspiracy against traditional values when all the evidence points otherwise.

Look, I do not care about gay marriage.  I don't care about marriage at all.  I believe that the State should only recognize marriage on a contract basis.  If a group of 12 male first cousins want to get married for a three year period?  Mazel tov but I'm only buying one collective gift.  But I do believe, strongly, that such a change must through legislative means.  Doing otherwise solidifies the belief that the average citizen has no voice in the rule of this country.

Just a thought...

When libs blame all of Obama's failure's on Bush, all they are saying is "The President I voted for and love is completely ineffectual and inconsequential." I mean, if you can't ascribe any responsibility to a President, you can't ascribe success to him either, right?  Right?
