I am ashamed to admit that I'm hoping that Sen. Byrd's resignation of his Senate committees chairmanship heralds his imminent demise.  I don't actually like wishing ill on people, all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.  But, while I will feel sorrow for his family, I can't bring myself to be upset about his departing this mortal coil.
