The NEA booed Our Lord and Savior when he announced that he favored pay based on *gasp* actual merit in public schools.  Fred Thompson pretty much said it in the debates, and I'll say similar, the NEA is one of the most harmful and detrimental entities in our public school systems.  (h/t)
