If so, I've made the Obamessiah proud.  By now, you've all heard that Sen. Obama wants The Children^tm to learn Spanish so that our betters in Europe will begin to speak more highly of us. 

If states that bordered yours spoke different languages, wouldn't you have picked up on that at some point?  If France was as large as the United States, and only one of their borders was shared with a nation that didn't speak French, my guess is that most French people would only speak one language as well.
