Denver Public Schools, district of excellence

If there was any doubt in your mind that teachers have an agenda, let this school put it to rest.

Of the 10 new schools, nine are charters. The tenth, the Denver Green School, was created by Denver Public Schools teachers and principals and will use the environment and sustainability as its overall theme.
I'd like to take a moment to remind you of Denver Public Schools' stellar performance in meeting and exceeding our students' needs regarding the basic skills to make a living, attend college, and be accomplished enough to make something of themselves other than a welfare mom or street junkie.

In other words...

Are you fucking kidding me?! Denver Public Schools can't manage to educate its students in actual, necessary, required subjects, yet it wants to create a school where the emphasis is going to be on something that is only a necessary job skill if you're planning on running a community garden or sponsoring a commune. At best, we can hope that DPS continues its tradition of excellence in education and turns each and every student into a leave-every-light-on, gas-guzzling-SUV-driving, dump-your-motor-oil-into-the-drainage-ditch-on-the-way-to-your-job-managing-a-smog-belching-factory Republican.

Oh it's been broughten

I'm sure all y'all saw this over at Head Moron's but I would like to add my own demure commentary thereto.

Comments made by the California Speaker of the House, Karen Bass

Q: How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature's work?

A: The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: "You vote for revenue and your career is over." I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair.

Ms. Bass, I believe you are missing one minor, tiny, barely worth mentioning point.  You.  Work.  For.  The.  Citizens.  Of.  California.  Not the other way around.  There is nothing terroristic for a boss to tell an employee "Shape up or you're out of here".  You guess it's about free speech?  You GUESS?  I would humbly suggest, Ms. Bass, that you might want to take a refresher course in basic civics.

Epic profanity below the fold - if we weren't banned by Net Nanny before, we sure would be now.

I wouldn't hold your breath

You've already got the rainbows, but something tells me you're going to be waiting on the unicorns for quite a while...

President Barack Obama, under fire from the gay-rights community over slow action on its priorities, promised to deliver by the time he leaves office.
Well, that's some kind of timetable, huh? Is that contingent on whether or not he wins in 2012? Only Barack knows for sure. I seem to remember a phrase that some wingnut came up with about Obama's promises and expiration dates, though...
The president gave no new details about how he would advance these issues, but he made passionate remarks saluting the pioneers of the gay-rights movement and expressed solidarity with those working for equal rights.
No new details, huh? But, yeah, you can trust him. For reals.
"Welcome to your White House," the president said at a reception Monday to mark the 40th anniversary of the birth of the modern gay-rights movement. His remarks were greeted warmly by a cheering crowd of some 250 gay and lesbian activists and supporters.
Yeah. I hope you'll remember those cheers when I post this video again.
"It's not for me to tell you to be patient," he said, comparing the gay activists' struggle to that of African-Americans in the civil rights movement. "I expect and hope to be judged not by words...but by the promises that my administration keeps."

He added that by the time his presidency is over, "I think you guys will have pretty good feelings about the Obama administration."

He thinks so. Well, isn't that reassuring?

Look, I'm not expecting the GOP to pick up a large portion of the gay vote anytime in the near future, but how long do the Democrats figure they can keep pandering to minority voting blocs like this without delivering on their promises?

Oh. Nevermind.

A Big Dig in Philly? No, just no!

If you thought pork spending, political corruption, gross incompetence and mishandling of funds and resources were bad in Boston, Philly would make them look like a bunch of fucking pikers, of that most anyone in PA can assure you.

WOOOOOSH!

I don't know that I've ever seen the actual point of an issue fly so completely over the head of a blogger. I mean, this has to be a parody, right? Right?

Be sure to read the comments.

Good Point: It's funny because it's true...

How is it "guaranteed gov't health care" if you have to cross a border to get it? [...] Well, don't get used to it, Canada.
And by "funny," I mean deadly serious. Literally.

Thanks: To Russ from Bacon for linking at Moron Central.

Harrisburg NAACP demands Ed Rendell impose martial law on the city

In reaction to 12 shootings (I'd wager most are drug/gang related) in the city.

Joe Biden Is The Smartest Guy Evah!

Once again, I am so glad we dodged a bullet by keeping that snowbilly out of the VPOTUS slot.

Biden also praised Tim Kaine as the "great governor of New Jersey."
One problem: Tim Kaine's not governor of New Jersey.

Jon Corzine is governor of New Jersey (Remember, he didn't wear his seatbelt in the state patrol car for the big high-speed crash).

Tim Kaine is governor of another state, called Virginia.

He's also chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Biden is from Delaware.

He used a Teleprompter.

To steal JWF's line regarding the lady behind Biden in the photo at his site:

I assume she's either Secret Service or Joe's keeper from the sanitarium. And he's not running. He's just speedwalking to his next gaffe.

Irrelevant Windsurfer Tries To Get In The News Again

Hey! I have an idea! Why not make a joke about John Kerry windsurfing or gold digging and never coming back. Let's see how much the leftards will appreciate that.

U.S. Sen. John Kerry must have been channeling his inner Letterman yesterday.

The Bay State senator was telling a group of business and civic leaders in town at his invitation about the “bizarre’’ tale of how South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford had “disappeared for four days’’ and claimed to be hiking along the Appalachian Trail, but no one was really certain of his whereabouts.

“Too bad,’’ Kerry said, “if a governor had to go missing it couldn’t have been the governor of Alaska. You know, Sarah Palin.’’

Yeah, a fucking kneeslapper.

PA Dems May Not Be Completely Idiotic After All

Nice to see they are channeling most of us by saying, "Fuck you, Arlen Specter."

Specter's party switch, announced April 28, has hurt his job-performance ratings among Democrats as well as Republicans, according to a telephone survey of 498 registered voters, conducted last week by the Center for Opinion Research at Franklin & Marshall College.

Back in March, before the switch, roughly half the voters in each party said that Specter was doing an "excellent" or "good" job in the Senate.

Those numbers have plunged in the latest survey. Whereas 57 percent of Democrats gave him good or excellent ratings in March, only 46 percent rate him as highly now. Among Republicans, 49 percent rated his job performance as good or excellent in March, and only 18 percent gave him those ratings last week.

"Even more troubling for the senator is that the proportion of state residents who believe he deserves re-election has declined from 40 percent to 28 percent," said the poll's director, G. Terry Madonna.

"I think what he's got going is the worst of both worlds," Madonna said. "Republicans have fallen away from him because he left his party, and Democrats are unhappy with him for lots of different reasons. . . . Voters have a lot of uncertainty about what he is likely to do."

Soviet of California to issue IOUs to creditors

No, seriously, they're really going to issue IOUs.  California's bond ratings are likely to drop as a result of their inability to get their spending and debt under control.  And yet, Sacramento refuses to do anything to get CA's spending under control.

Hey, Warren Buffett!

Smooth move, ex-lax, you're the genius who used your fame and fortune to boost Obama and the Democrats, and now you're shocked that the Marxists you helped put in power are fucking up the capitalist system we once had in place?  Really?  Oracle of Omaha my ass.

Officer was blitzed, she refused to serve him any more drinks, he went around the bar and beat her badly.  No prison time, two years probation, anger management classes and community service.  What bullshit.

I hate to say it, but I think even the Moron-in-Chief's been bested here as far as Sully takedowns go.  It's a bit tl;dr, but seriously, stay with it.

Everything has an expiration date. Everything.

Oh, look there, Pres. Obama is finally telling the truth about mandating health insurance.  Well.  Maybe.  Who knows what the position is going to be tomorrow?

Obama in the debate with then Sen. Clinton:  Mr. Obama said "the only difference between Senator Clinton's health care plan and mine is that she thinks the problem for people without health care is that nobody has mandated -- forced -- them to get health care. That's not what I'm seeing around Nevada. What I see are people who would love to have health care. They -- they desperately want it. But the problem is they can't afford it."

He underlined again during the debate: "I don't think that the problem with the American people is that they are not being forced to get health care."

Pres. Obama now:

The president said that "any program that we put in place, I think there will be some phase-in period.  So that we can calibrate and adjust to make sure that there really is affordability there before we start trying to penalize people.  But I think my thinking on the issue of mandates has evolved.  And I think that that is typical of most people who study this problem deeper."

Yes, yes, I headlined this that everything Pres. Obama says has an expiration date.  But this time I don't think that's the case.  I think that he was flat out lying in the Nevada debate.  He knew damn well there would have to be mandates but he wanted to score some cheap easy points.  See, it's either that or he is point blank admitting that he and his advisors did not deeply study this problem during his interminable Presidential campaign.  Then there is option three which is the everything has an expiration date theory.  None of these are particularly flattering to the Obama Administration.

You know, one of the reasons I detested former Pres. Clinton so much was because he had no core values.  However, he at least appeared to know about the issues he was attempting to triangulate.  Pres. Obama?  The constant and immediate position shifts are bordering on the pathological.
I mean, who can say that this position is now going to be the true one?  It's been a few hours, it probably something else now.

Mandates are coming though, of that I have no doubt. I, for one, can't wait until I am able to claim with a straight face that my being fat is a political statement of resistance towards the concept that the government has a right to tell me what to do with my body.  Chocolate cake as speaking truth to power ftw!

And what exactly is wrong with Rubio's statement?

Via Ed at Hotair, we've got this, some twat named Josh Kraushaar on Politico whining about this statement from Marco Rubio, (and of course using the worst picture of Rubio he could find, like some hack putting together a pamphlet for election season)

I have a feeling the situation in Iran would be a little different if they had a 2nd amendment like ours.

...and acting like this is some shocking, bizarre statement.  Uh, no jackass, it isn't, and if the Iranians had a concept in their society equivalent to a Second Amendment, and were able to keep and bear arms as we are, my guess is that the current regime wouldn't be nearly so bold about engaging in egregious human rights abuses and brutal to dissenters...assuming the leadership of the Iranian regime hadn't been overthrown already.  I'd also guess the Basij and the rest of the regime's enforcers would be a hell of a lot less bold about randomly shooting into crowds, too.

There are usually a few reasons guys like this twat freak out when someone notes what the Second is for, particularly a politician.  They don't like hearing what the Second is for.  They're liberal statists, they don't want you to be able to reject state power.  Because of that, they've been trying to redefine the Second Amendment as the Hunting Amendment for years now, and have failed miserably.

Unlike the GOP, gun nuts and the NRA don't cave to bullshit like this, and as a result gun nuts are winning the debate and the culture, and even now to an extent defining the terms of the debate, which is why the media and certain Democrats are screeching so loud about guns lately, they're losing, badly.  Gun nuts don't roll over, and liberals don't like that.

They don't want to admit that sometimes force is needed to preserve human rights (not that they particularly care about human rights to begin with).  Liberals can't or won't differentiate between protective violence and malicious or oppressive violence.  This is why you'll hear some liberals whine, "Oh, great, more violence, yaaay!" when stories of people defending themselves with lethal force in the news are published.  Ace's post here catches this mindset perfectly.

There's hubris and then there's this

Privately, Obama advisors are crediting his Cairo speech for inspiring the protestors.

I am beginning to have some sympathy for my more sane Lefty friends for how they were acting by the end of the Bush Administration as right now any sight/mention/reference to Pres. Obama makes me want to lie on the floor and throw a tantrum a two year old would envy.

I am desperately attempting to remind myself what the gods do to those who show such hubris.  It's not particularly helping.

Moron Central linked this post on the sidebar, but I think it is so hilariously illustrative of how bug fuck stupid the left in this country really is that it deserves the loving affection I believe I can give it.

Warning! The outpouring of profanity and crude sexual references may cause NetNanny's heart to go a twitter.
