What is this? Dickensian England?

Nice to see that Madame Speaker thinks that we should reinstate debtor's prison.

Oh this will be spun as anything but that however that's the implication.  Can't afford to buy the $15,000 government mandated insurance?  Go to jail.  Actually, more chilling is the bit about if it's determined that the refusal to buy is "willful evasion".  Who decides what's willful?  What's the standard?  Yeah, that's not open for abuse.

DIAF, Madame Speaker, DIAF.

Rachel Maddow: Constitutional Scholar

Seriously, I thought that she was supposed to smart.

RACHEL MADDOW, HOST: Congressman Akin was not alone in stumbling over a little basic U.S. history. He had some good company in the top Republican in the House, Minority Leader John Boehner.

(VIDEOTAPE)

JOHN BOEHNER (R-OHIO.): This is my copy of the Constitution. And I'm gonna stand here with our Founding Fathers who wrote in the Preamble, "We hold these truths to be self-evident..."

(END VIDEOTAPE):

MADDOW (waving hands): Nnn, Constitution doesn't have a Preamble. Not. Nope. Stop it. That would be the Declaration of Independence. Ooh.

Yeah, that's the ticket

Markos Mouzzafava comes up with three reasons why Deeds and Corzine lost.  His conclusion? The candidates weren't liberal enough.

2010, here we come.

Umm...About Those "Jobs Created/Saved" Claims.....

A few days ago, Geoff called out some numbers about the Obama "Jobs Saved/Created" bit in all its chartastic goodness.

Well, it looks as though he may have been very prescient in asserting the dubious nature of these claims. First of all, certain ZIP Codes appear to be gaining more jobs than people. Then, "fuzzy math" from the White House makes a cameo appearance.

Oh well. Nice to see we have the "Best and the Brightest" working on our behalf, right?

Hey Democrats! Get A Mop!

And clean up the mess Obama made for you tonight!

Yeah, I am pissed that the NRCC and RNC fucked us over in NY 23, but two out of three is not bad. And seeing ACORN fail in NJ does help my cold evil heart feel better tonight.

****MEGA CRITICAL UPDATE!1!!1****

HERE IS A VIDEO DEPICTION OF THE MESSAGE WE NEED TO SEND TO THE NRCC/RNC

I voted!

AND I DID NOT GET AN I VOTED STICKER!  YES THIS IS CAPS WORTHY.  THE ENTIRE POINT OF VOTING BEFORE WORK IS TO GET AN I VOTED STICKER TO SHOW OFF HOW MUCH BETTER YOU ARE!

Ahem.  I'm fine.  Really.  Fine.

I was number 88 to vote at 8:10 this morning.  That's pretty damn good since I think there's about 2,000 people total in my town.

My local races are really interesting this year since the county below me has a huge, huge, huge judicial scandal going on.  I can't wait to see if the rest of the judges up for retention get thrown out as well.

It's almost as if they knew what they wuz doing

Bwahahaha.

He would have done it too if it weren't for that damn Constitution!

Yet a year after the November 4 election, the checks and balances the founding fathers built into the US political system to moderate the revolutionary zeal of its early settlers have worked, all too well, to blunt Obama's agenda.

And understand, she says that like it's a bad thing.
You see, that darn piece of paper that made America both the greatest nation and the greatest force for good this sorry world has ever seen is just getting in the way of Obama beginning his new era of peace, love, understanding and shutting up anyone who disagrees with Him.

Rename it The Twat Pack

So David Frum is abandoning his New Majority site for the new and, uh...improved, well...

Do keep in mind, the Twat is doing this on the recommendation of a branding expert.  I'd ask if this branding expert was wearing spurs and a hat, but I think we all know the average cowboy would have come up with something better.  Only an obscenely overpaid consultant could think this was a good plan.

Yes, I do read the blog

Yes, I know that Scozzafava endoring the Dem is mentioned just below but I have an additional point I would like to make.

I want that cunt (and yeah the c word is deserved) Newt Fucking Gingrich to be on Rush tomorrow groveling as hard as that goatrimming bastard can about this.  On.  His.  Fucking.  Knees.  Begging.  For.  Forgiveness.

And then I want Rush and the rest of the Republican wing of the Republican party to kick his teeth out the back of his head.  If this doesn't disqualify him from any further consideration for national office I don't know what will.  Good God Almighty.

Also, if Steele doesn't step in and tell the NY GOP that the national level is cutting off all funding until they get their house in order, he needs to go.

Don't give me any shit about that being a "purge" of the RINOs.  If the local GOP can't get it together enough to not, idk, nominate a fucking Sanger award winner who then supports the Dem, then they don't deserve support.

I would hope that we can all agree that the bare minimum to qualify as a Republican is not to help the Democrat win.  I know, I know, what a nutty idea.

If I didn't have some deadline stuff going on at work, I would totally go up to Watertown and campaign for Hoffman.  I want him to win so much I can taste it.
