Joe Biden, The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Ummm....Joe, you might want to reconsider this statement.

Seriously, Mr. Vice President, you just demonstrated why you and your ilk should be kept as far away from health care as possible.

“Do you trust the defenders of the status quo, the people who say you’d be better off if you left things just the way they are? Or would you rather hear from the folks who actually know something about what’s happening in our healthcare system because they work in it every day, doctors and nurses?”

I can't add anything to that. Thank you, Joe.

Just as an addendum, this poll came out today (I think). And remember: if Gallup polls "Adults Only" screen is this bad for the left, then the "Likely Voters" screen is even worse for them.

Hey 52%: How's FAIL Taste?

As polling gets worse and worse for those smug assholes who bragged about being part of the 52% that elected Barack Obama (link goes to a twitter page of a guy who links KOS), as people are starting to view private health care more positively, as more and more of the world mocks the guy, and even the Leg Tingler is starting to get tough on him, I have a message for the O-bots:

Meet Jacob Weisberg, parallel universe inhabitant

In what is likely the lamest thing you'll read all day, Jacob assures us that Barack Obama is having TEH AWESOMEST FURST YEAR EVAR!!!!! of any president since FDR.

No, really.

After lauding his various domestic accomplishments like the health care bill that has yet to pass and the Spendulus, which Weisberg assures us "prevented an economic depression," he gets into "this is a parody, right?" territory in discussing Barry's foreign policy triumphs. I suggest you swallow any liquids you may have in your mouth before reading any further...

When it comes to foreign policy, Obama's accomplishment has been less tangible but hardly less significant: He has put America on a new footing with the rest of the world. In a series of foreign trips and speeches, which critics deride as trips and speeches [um, what?], he replaced George W. Bush's unilateral, moralistic militarism with an approach that is multilateral, pragmatic, and conciliatory. Obama has already significantly reoriented policy toward Iran, China, Russia, Iraq, Israel, and the Islamic world. Next week, after a much-disparaged period of review, he will announce a new strategy in Afghanistan. No, the results do not yet merit his Nobel Peace Prize. But not since Reagan has a new president so swiftly and determinedly remodeled America's global role.
Well, I actually agree with that last point. It's taken less than a year for him to turn our country into a global laughingstock, what with all the bowing and scraping, misspelled "reset" buttons, abandonment of our allies, and sucking up to our enemies.

Keep fucking that chicken, Jacob. But you might want to put down the crack pipe, first.

Althouse: Crushed Teenage Fangirl

Seriously, "Professor" Althouse. I understand that you were, and probably still are, an Obama fangirl, especially because you believed he was smarter than anybody else. I understand that you were not a fan of Sarah Palin, for almost the exact obverse of your Obamacrush. I understand that you have had doubts about Teh One since he became President, but can't bear to go full bore into the "I was wrong" camp. But this is too much, especially considering how smart you want us to believe you are.

Where is the animal fire inside the clammily cool Prez? Maureen wants to know. Was it ever really there?
The animating spirit that electrified his political movement has sputtered out.
The animating spirit...

Whose animating spirit provided the electricity back then? Did it come from him, or did we generate it from within as we looked at him and fell in love?

You know, I think what Obama seems to have become, he always was. Shake him all you want, Maureen, but you're like some Star Trek extra (in tights and a tunic) trying to coax heat out of the body of Mr. Spock. I'm afraid these earnest efforts are futile.

"We generate"? "Fell in love"? What the fucking fuckity fuck with a corroded downspout soaked in years of rainwater is that? That is one of the most arrogantly foolish, immature, and self aggrandizing sentences I have ever read. Do you really want us to believe that a serious professor of the law is willing to put her name to an article admitting that she is nothing but a Tiger Beat fangirl who is crushed that her rockstar politician/dreamboat is found to be a fool? Do you really want us to believe that YOU and your ilk were responsible for the "electricity" Obama generated because of the "love" you expressed for him, and not the media and the Axelturf Camp? And do you really want us to believe that you only fucking now came to the conclusion that Obama is an empty suit, or are you so afraid to concede defeat to the Palin crowd who called Obama out at the RNC? Jesssusss titty banging in the backseat at the fairgrounds Christs, this is an embarrassment.

"Professor", you claim to be smart. You claim to be worldly. You claim to be rational. And yet, when the clay feet of the Colossus that is the Cult of Teh Won start to crumble, you resort to the blogworld equivalent of a 13 year old girl vandalizing the poster on her wall when she realizes that guy really is a creep and a lowlife. You express shock and disappointment that your narcissistic projection of you and your greatness onto a politician falls flat. And you turn bitter at Teh Won by comparing him to an intelligent, but emotionless and ultimately incapable of being the true leader, character from a science fiction show (as an aside, I guess sci-fi portrayals of the Obamas are indeed acceptable. But I digress).  What the hell is that all about? Teenage angst and catty disappointment is fine in my niece, but not cool for a woman of letters.

Face it, Professor, you were wrong. You picked the "weak horse". You sided with the guy who, while victorious, has been a loser ever since, and is dragging everybody near him down with him. You sided with the guy who excited your girlish passions, and not your political senses. And I bet the worst one for you is that you were proven wrong by Sarah Palin, the person you call stupid every day and night before you cuddle up next to your Obama Photo. It must suck to be that emotionally attached to a person as ephemeral and vapid as a pop star, so much so that you look foolish when reality hits you in the face.

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Because all the cool kids are doing it

(See what I did there?)

I haven't had the chance to go through the AGW emails due to having to go to bed early last night to get up at ass o'clock to catch a plane this morning, but even my brief perusal reveals that there could be some major, major problems for those who wrote the emails.

It definitely appears that emails that were subject to FOIA disclosure were deleted.  The purposeful deletion of those emails may subject the one deleting to criminal penalties.  And it sure as hell looks like there was a discussion about getting rid of those emails.  In which case, helllllloooooo nurse, we have ourselves a good old fashioned conspiracy.

Frankly, the discussions about data manipulation don't surprise me.  That the data was being massaged has been apparent for years, even to a statistics idiot such as myself.  I am a bit surprised that those involved were idiotic enough to put it in writing but maybe I shouldn't be.  The tone of the emails makes clear that the choir was being preached to long and loud.

I'm interested to know if anyone is going to bother cross checking these emails against Congressional testimony to see if just maybe Hansen might have some 'splaining to do.  I'm not hopeful though that would fill me with glee.

"Do you want...tax exemptions to be supporting an organisation that coerces its followers into having abortions?"

Unfortunately, that's not some brave American conservative politician trying to take down Planned Parenthood.

Fuck You, Jodie Evans!

Seriously, I can add nothing to this, other than to wish Jodie Evans an eternity of having to face the souls of the brave servicemembers who have fallen while fighting the people with whom she met.

What makes this worse is that she is a major fundraiser for Obama, and is seen in this video presenting him with a petition regarding Afghanistan.

Ok. I stand corrected. I do have something to say:

A team of linguists have finally found the secret to Palin's accentNow we know...

President ObamaBean Set To Destroy The Airline Industry

Holy Fucking The Neighbor's Gardener With A Stingray! Team Obama wants to "save" the Airline Industry. And, of course, the usual band of dickfisting idiots arrives on the scene just in time to guarantee this will be a bigger clusterfuck than the time I tried to get out of the All You Can Eat Sushi Bar with my dignity and waistline intact.

{Transportation Secretary Ray}LaHood told reporters he has met twice with Lawrence Summers, the top White House economic adviser, about helping airlines equip planes for NextGen.

Implementing NextGen — which is expected to reduce airport congestion, fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions — is a priority for the White House, LaHood said. But he offered no clue whether aid might be forthcoming.

Airlines have suffered repeated shocks in recent years, including the 9/11 terror attacks, the SARS virus, volatile oil prices and the current economic downturn. They offered fewer seats to passengers, measured by available seats and distance traveled, in the first quarter of this year than any other first quarter in more than a decade. They have shed more than 158,000 full-time jobs since employment peaked in 2001 and lost an estimated $30 billion to $60 billion in recent years. Thirteen airlines have filed for bankruptcy in the past two years.

The deregulation of airlines in 1978 has helped lower air fares consumers, but other trends have raised concerns about whether airlines are offsetting low fares at the expense of safety. Most large airlines are outsourcing the majority of their major aircraft maintenance and repairs, including to overseas repair shops. They are also farming out domestic, short-haul trips to regional airlines that hire less experienced pilots at lower wages.

Ed Wytkind, president of the AFL-CIO's transportation trades department, said he doesn't expect the Obama administration to attempt a return to the kind of regulation that existed before 1978 where the government set fares and routes. But he said he'd like the government to tighten requirements for new, low-cost airlines seeking to enter the marketplace.

My message to those idiots who wish to "save" the airlines by ruining them:

I'm going to break my own rule here

I'm not all that comfortable with the slams on Michelle Obama's appearance.  I understand the point of it and I even agree about going after the press about the fawning worship and the desperate need to make her Jackie O.  But I'm not comfortable with it at all, there's a tenor to much of it that bothers me.

And then she shows up in public like this:

Epic Fail called and said "Dude, even I wouldn't do that!"

Who the hell is giving her fashion advice?  Seriously, her stylist must hate her with an utter fucking passion.  There is not a single damn thing that's right about that, from her hair (wtf) to the color (yellow is hard to pull off for anyone and it is not flattering for her) to the belt.  (What.  The.  Ever.  Loving.  Fuck.)

She might not be my favorite person but that's just fucking painful to see.

Never Mind The Subject Of My Column, Let's get Back To The Creased Pants!

Being a glutton for punishment, I decided to peruse the latest article from David Brooks, and it was an unremarkably workmanlike essay about Sen. Joh Thune (R-SD). All in all, it was a positive write up of the Junior Senator from South Dakota that would have passed me by, save this barely relevant pivot from a Thune essay to a Teen Beat praise of the Creased Pants Of Awesomeness.

Republican pros are attracted to Thune because he could rally the hard-core conservatives without scaring away the suburbanites. His weakness is that he’s never really worked outside of government, and he’s almost never shown a maverick side.

At the moment, Republicans are riding an emotional wave. Karl Rove had a piece in Thursday’s Wall Street Journal that captures the mood: Obama is being defined as a liberal. Independents are fleeing. The political tide is shifting.

That overstates things. Obama remains the most talented political figure of the age {so much so, he is helping the not Obama crowd swell like David Brooks's naughty parts when he sees Obama's pants-ed}. After health care passes {?-ed}, he will pivot and pick some fights with his own party over spending {yeah. Because he has fought tooth and nail with his own party so far-ed} He’ll solidify his standing with independents {how so? By his sheer awesomeness?-ed}, and if the economy recovers {wow. More optimism in Obama than the economy. Way to go, David!-ed}, he could go into his re-election with as much momentum as Ronald Reagan enjoyed in 1984 {or he could go into 2012 with the momentum of noted statesmen Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, and Herbert Hoover-ed}.

Republicans are still going to have to do root-and-branch renovation if they hope to provide compelling answers to issues like middle-class economic anxiety {oh tell us, wise one, what those answers are-ed}. But in the meantime, people like Thune offer Republicans a way to connect fiscal discipline with traditional small-town values, a way to tap into rising populism in a manner that is optimistic, uplifting and nice.

Sheesh. If Brooks had merely mentioned that Obama needed to do X,Y,  and Z, that would be one thing. But Brooksie is doing a lot of assuming and wishing about things over which he has no control over, and Obama has no clue how to handle. And if the temple of Obama crumbles, what will David do with himself?

We Have Found Our Savior!

Recently, Jimme Bise mentioned that everything Obama seems to try to help turns out to get worse after he touches it: Afghanistan, The Economy, The Democrat Party, you name it. In fact, things are so fucked up, it appears as though Mr. Bean is running the country.

So, when the world needs help and rescuing, we all turn to one man:

And Up Next, I Will Provide A Lecture On Dieting, Temperance, And Refraining From Profanity

Take a look at who Harvard wants to come and lecture people about ethics.

Hooker-loving ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer is scheduled to deliver a lecture Thursday at - of all places - a center for ethics at Harvard University.

And the Madam who supplied Eliot with high-priced escorts said she can't imagine a less qualified lecturer.

"I am greatly intrigued as to what Mr. Spitzer could contribute to an ethical discussion when as Chief Executive Law Enforcement Officer of NY he broke numerous laws for which he has yet to be punished," Kristin Davis wrote in a protest letter to Professor Lawrence Lessig at The Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics.

"As Attorney General he went around arresting and making examples out of the same escort agencies he was frequenting."

Yeah, this should end well.

Dumb liberal CEO tricks

Citadel (formerly ABC Radio) took two major hits, the first being the passing of Paul Harvey, and the second being their hostile behavior to Hannity, which drove him to rival network Clear Channel.  The CEO of Citadel is a lefty who appears to be driving out conservative broadcasters in the network, while taking on Imus and replacing successful conservative talk radio shows with unsuccessful no-name liberals and old windbags.

The executive board made it very clear to Hannity that they didn't like him, one of the execs even went so far as to refuse to board a plane with him.  So, how are they doing?  Well, they're now looking at Chapter 11.  Yeah, liberals are so fucking stupid they'll bankrupt their own large corporations before having to tolerate hearing a conservative viewpoint.

I'm not a big Hannity fan, the guy is far, far too willing to fellate anything with an -R next to it, and is not much of a thinker or debater, but it's still amazing that he'd be treated like that by the executive board for his political views, particularly when he's raking in millions, probably tens of millions for them.

If this is true, then I don't even know what to say

I'm sure everyone say this over at the Head Moron's but I must vent my rage. First, the supposed quote:

Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, “Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit” Democratic voters “and it will encourage the extremists.”

If, in fact, the President of the United States used the term teabag, then I'm done.  All the done.  President Obama must not be my President since it's clear that he does not believe that he is.  Don't try to tell me that he's not aware of the connotations and meaning of that term.  Do.  Not.  Even.  If he's not, then someone should have told him this.

You know what?  The Presidency of the United States of America is not Xbox Live.  The President of the United States should not slang and terminology that has its greatest parlance amongst 13 year old boys playing Halo.  This is not a game.  This is not a joke.  This is the Presidency of the greatest country on this planet.  If nothing else, the office is deserving of respect.  This?  This is indicative of a level of classlessness to which not even Bill Clinton would sink.

It's pathetic.  It's reprehensible.  And if the President did not say this but it is the paraphrase of Rep. Blumenauer, then Rep. Blumenauer owes by the President and the public a massive apology.  If not?  Then President Obama needs to be asked, preferably by Jake Tapper, if he used that term and, if so, to provide a credible explanation for referring to his opponents using a gutter level sexual slur.

Oh.  Look.  Jake Tapper just tweeted that he will not ask any questions using the word "teabag".  Well, so much for speaking truth to power there Mr. Tapper.  Yes, it's relevant.  Yes, it's important.  It is demonstrative of the manner in which the President of the entire United States views a substantial minority of the citizens.

The President visits Ft. Hood victims

Well, a president paid them a visit, anyway...

Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent "considerable time" consoling those who were wounded in Thursday's shooting spree, Fox News has learned.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

Meanwhile...

Yeah.
