More Proof The Left Is Unhinged Over Palin

To piggyback on Sean's post about the Kossacks being worried over Palin, they are now accusing her of faking her recent pregnancy in order to cover for her teenage daughter.

Next concernedamerican posted a slam on Palin's commitment to her baby. "She decided not to take maternity leave with this pregnancy!!!! What's up with that? With a special needs baby?" And then went on to accept the claims without proof saying, "Kind of hypocritical to push abstinence programs in schools and then cover up your own teenage daughter's pregnancy with a lie that you had the baby yourself, dontcha think?"

Not4bushwa also assumed it was all true merely because it was posted on DailyKos, saying: "If Palin had come clean about her daughter or if McCain had vetted her more carefully and not chosen her, this would not be a story. But she didn't and he didn't. Tough luck, poor judgment, another right-wing hypocrite scandal." And later wrote, "This is a big lie. Why the excessive secrecy? So much shame for a fairly common predicament--teenage pregnancy? I wonder: Who's the father?"

Obviously, since a Kos diarist posted this garbage story, many Kossacks will simply believe it is true despite that there is no proof at all for even a single word of the accusations.

Poster sailmaker finds Motherhood so disgusting that he can't imagine a vice president doing it, posting that his "mind boggles at the idea of a lactating VP." That's classy, isn't it?

Poster Subversive really went for the gutter with, "The only thing missing from this story is that the baby wasn't Black."

Folks, they don't know how to handle her. And the fact that as a mother of five, she is still more manly (though -ILFish to 11) than any male Kossack would ever be. And the fact her husband could rip their eyeballs out just by farting on them scares the shit out of them as well.

Taking a swipe at Palin for inexperience in foreign affairs.  Really Barack, you're gonna go there?  I guess I can see how you'd think that she's inexperienced in foreign matters, given she hasn't done a few trips to Africa and a two week tour of Europe and the Middle East.  Hell, she hasn't even failed to keep a promise of aid to a poor African school yet!  What does she know about foreign affairs, silly woman...

Some Democrats (who obviously don't read the Moronosphere blogs that have been skewering the event for quite some time) are apparently beginning to worry about what kind of message Obama's appearance at a stadium full of 80,000 screaming fans is going to send:

From the elaborate stagecraft to the teeming crowd of 80,000 cheering partisans, the vagaries of the weather to the unpredictable audience reaction, the optics surrounding the stadium event have heightened worries that the Obama campaign is engaging in a high-risk endeavor in an uncontrollable environment.

A common concern: that the stadium appearance plays against Obama’s convention goal of lowering his star wattage and connecting with average Americans and that it gives Republicans a chance to drive home their message that the Democratic nominee is a narcissistic celebrity candidate.

No, really? That could happen? Next thing, you'll tell me that the McCain campaign is hungrily waiting to turn clips from the event into a new series of commercials lampooning Obama's, uh, narcissism and celebrity status.

Another senior Obama aide noted Tuesday there were only two options for what the campaign wanted to accomplish — either do it in the convention hall, in front of the delegates, or somewhere else. “A diner’s not an option,” the aide said.

Yeah, see, nobody's suggesting that. What we've been talking about is the idea that your guy feels the need to do something in front of a cheering crowd of tens of thousands of fans, some of whom may very well be using hand salutes to greet him, where most candidates have felt comfortable accepting their party's nomination in the not-unfriendly confines of the convention hall.  Maybe you should ask yourself why that just wasn't good enough for Obama, though you might not like the rather obvious answer.

The Washington Times Convention blog has a press release from the McCain campaign detailing appropriate attire for Obama's coronation acceptance speech on Thursday night. I like their parting shot:

At the Temple of Obama, reporters are expected to observe a level of decency and decorum demanded by the import of the moment and the presence of The One. No "Animal House” behavior permitted. Specifically, no “Toga” chants.

Like the man says: Heh. Indeed. Read the whole thing.

Oh, and it goes without saying that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated as a reaction to Will.I.Am's "song":

Nancy speaks Idiocy to Truth

Speaker Nancy Pelosi encountered some of the proletariat at the DNC Convention in Denver who demanded action on energy.  It didn't exactly go well:

House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of “Drill here! Drill now!”

Pelosi paused and asked the group, “Right here?”

Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: “Can we drill your brains?”

She went on to refer to the protestors, who continued to chant sporadically, as “handmaidens of Big Oil.” Arguing that increased offshore drilling would only reduce gas prices two cents in 10 years, she referred to the demonstrators as the “two-cents-in-ten-years-crowd.”

I laughed when I heard that she said she was from the streets, but I have been proven wrong, my friends.  I imagine Ice-T in his day would have reacted in a similar fashion.

Son of Smarm to take Delaware Senate seat?

It could happen if Obama wins in November, Senator Smarm would be forced to vacate his Senate seat. Looks like there's a RINO that could pose a challenge if he were to run for the seat, so it could be interesting.

Incidentally, I don't mind that a RINO might grab that seat, liberal places like Delaware are where we should try and get RINOs elected.  RINO>Democrat for the most part, until you become an unbearable liberal smacktard with an R by your name like Chaffee (who no longer has an R next to his name) was, then you've got to go.  The problem isn't RINOs per se, rather the fact that they manage to lock themselves into conservative districts where we should have solid conservatives holding seats.

Is the Biden veep pick news a Hillary headfake?

A bunch of the commenters over at Moron Central seem to think so. Some of them back that up with speculation from Patterico's blog.  But, no.  Probably not.  Why do I say that?

Well, the nutroots seem to be convinced, even before the text message goes out, and (Surprise!) they're in the mood to forgive the campaign's ineptitude in getting the message out:

Attention readers: when the cable news networks broke the story on Obama's VP pick, several newscasters stated it somehow means Obama broke word to text us with the news. That's right folks, they criticized him for their own reporting. I'm dumbfounded. That is all.

And if you click on the button that lets you skip a donation, you end up here, on the main Obama page, where Biden is expressly noted as the veep pick.

Shocker: Stupid hippies plan stupid stunt

Look, I think the Democratic National Convention is a stupid waste of time, too, but you won't see me engaging in this kind of dumbass hippie bullshit:

Organizers of Recreate 68, which is affiliated with at least a dozen protest groups mobilizing for the DNC later this month, are planning to attempt a levitation of the U.S. Mint as a statement against the money being spent on the convention which activists feel would better be spent on the poor.

On the other hand, this makes the lefties look pretty ridiculous, so go ahead and try to levitate that building! Flower Power!

Oh, and as for the guiding principles behind this protest?

"It's time to redistribute the wealth," reads a statement at the Recreate68.org Web site.

"Between security and corporate payoffs, the DNC will cost over 100 million dollars for a party. We think the people deserve that money."

The statement goes on to say, "Join us as we encircle the Denver Mint...and use our collective power to raise the Mint building in the air and shake the money out of it for the people."

Hippie nonsense coupled with Commie rhetoric at the Democrat convention...who could have seen that coming?

This is going to be a fun convention.
