A while ago, somebody (and I forget who at this point. How's that for awesome fucking research?) said that gay conservatives are tougher and more manly than straight liberals. Well, given what happened today at CPAC with GOProud, and their refusal to give in to the shitheels and fuckheads who wouldn't know tolerance and acceptance if it came up and skullfucked them with the cactus of doom, I would say so.

As a result, I award GOProud the Dick Cheney Commemorative King Kong Sized Brass Balls of Awesomeness and Asskicking Award in the Field of Fucking Up The Other Guys' Shit And Being Fucking Awesome. I also give a second place award {insert award title here} to the people who booed that fucktickling fuckbaffler of fuckingly fucked up fuckheadedness and fucking fuckfluffering off the stage.

Brafuckingvo, folks! And yet again, when shitheels are stood up to, it gets noticed, and our enemies become rattled and disoriented because their playbook has been scrambled. And little by little, the meme the left has created of "Oh Noes! Teh Bigotz And Wingnutz!' loses credibility and becomes more ridiculous, and those who throw that smear around become even bigger fools than usual. That is what was and is so fucking awesome about what happened.

Another piece of WIN! for this incident is how it appears to have rattled some on the left. I will not link to the site, but as Gabe mentioned over at Moron Central,   when prominent and influential gay bloggers write the following:

To the White House, the DNC, and our leadership in Congress: You are messing with people's lives, and we know it. And the day that an anti-gay bigot gets booed at CPAC, you all better start being very afraid.

I'm totally claiming it was me (even though I don't think it was).  Like I've said too many times to count, it's easier being queer and a conservative than conservative and queer but that doesn't mean it's easy.  I'm not joking when I say that I have to fight to have my very existence recognized.  Between much of the gay community refusing to believe that bisexuality exists and some in the conservative community believing that it is inherently impossible to be both queer and conservative, it's tiring to have to keep pointing out the incredibly inconvenient truth that I'm standing right here breathing and such. 

Good on GOProud and good on those who made their displeasure known.

5 When a certain husky ponytialed washed up jazz guitarist blogger switched over the the left, one of the approved talking points on his site was that the GOP and Conservatism is no longer the party of Goldwater and his ideals. Well, after last night, I wonder if that still holds true.

Especially in light of this quote.

6 I'm still trying to understand why CPAC gave Ryan Sorba a podium to speak from.  He's weapons-grade crazy, and toxically controversial (and not in a good way).  It would have been less controversial to put a Birther onstage than someone who runs around lecturing on the "Born Gay Hoax".
