The House Republican leadership is prepared to welcome Doug Hoffman into its ranks, National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) said Thursday, a sign that the GOP establishment is recalibrating its approach toward the contentious New York special election and the Conservative Party nominee whose candidacy has divided the party.
Now that would be cool, it could be a sign they're done with attacking their base and might actually (gasp!) start listening to them.

I have to admit, I didn't realize Michigan had any Republicans.
In 3 minutes 49 seconds this guy absolutely eviscerates Gov't run healthcare.
More please.

Stolen from Ace's sidebar, I noticed this article from Sen Coburn, MD. Kudos to him for pitching his case against Obamacare to a constituency in an educated and thoughtful matter on how a policy will directly impact the gay community without resortin to name calling and insults.
The federal government will spend $15 billion on AIDS treatment alone this year, yet due to the inefficiencies of the public-run program, thousands will not receive appropriate care. In recent years, two patients in West Virginia and five in Kentucky died while awaiting care on waiting lists for the RWCA AIDS Drug Assistance Program. Today there are 247 Americans on waiting lists for livesaving AIDS drugs in eight states. The number is expected to reach 500 by Christmas. Those on the ADAP waiting lists are disproportionately minorities and residents of rural areas.
Sadly, the waiting lists do not tell the whole story of how care is being rationed under this program. Many other ADAP patients, while receiving care, are being denied the best treatment. Fuzeon, the AIDS drug of last resort that has been successful in treating patients who no longer benefit from other drugs, for example, has been denied to ADAP patients in our nation’s capital.
Tell me again that socialism is compassionate. Tell me again that Democrats care for gay folks, even after election day. Tell me that Obamacare won't just let people die on the vine, especially those with ailments that really are untreatable and will ultimately kill a person sooner than normal. Tell me that, and I willl tell you to shove a microscopic disease up your wang, and fuck off.

Well, if opposing this slide is Anti-American, I guess I will join with these "un-American" types.
Oh, and if you think a weakened America is just groovy, go fuck yourself with the schwanz of a Syphilis soaked Centaur that has Equine Gonorrhea. I refuse to let my family, my country, and my world suffer through the destruction that a rise in thugs and dictators would bring just because Captain Awesome thinks he can wow the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, Iranians, and any other castoffs from the Star Wars Cantina with his teleprompter and bling bling. Your refusal to exert American power, which is the only force that can stop the thugs of the world, is dangerous and reckless.
So fuck off, lefties, and leave the world protecting to those of us who have a fucking clue what is going on while you sit there and read your Tiger Beat magazines.
