A little midday funneh for ya

Seen this floating around various gunblogs and other sites, from an LA paper,

Authorities have noticed an increase in high-caliber weapons in Los Angeles. One of the most startling incidents was when a Fabrique National 57, an assault pistol used to kill big game, was found in a victim's car by detectives investigating a double-homicide last year in North Hollywood.

"You use it on large lions, tigers and bears," said LAPD Deputy Chief Michel Moore, commander of the Valley Bureau.

The Five-Seven shoots a small caliber .22 centerfire round that is somewhere between a .22 magnum, and a .22 Hornet on the power scale, both of which are commonly used to hunt small game like rabbits and squirrels, and to shoot small pest animals.  I love the Five-Seven and it's carbine counterpart, the PS-90, not because they're overpriced tacticool Euro popguns, but because they're something different, and bring out the best ignorant freakouts and crazy distortions from anti-2nd people.

The Collapse

Rasmussen is reporting that Obama's approval numbers have dropped below 50% for the first time.  The Democrats completely blew it, and my guess is unless the economy recovers miraculously, or some other politically fortuitous event, they're hosed in 2010 and probably 2012.  Don't get me wrong, they've done a lot of damage in six months, but the good news is that they're going to have to scale back what they're doing big time, which means less damage to the nation overall.

One Guy Really Doesn't Like Obamacare

Also, notice the ACORN shitstains in the crowd? Nice to see the red shirts give them away. Easier for me to aim my garden hose at if they come by my house.

52 to 40, with love: You lose, dickheads

Remember the 52 to 48 hipster fucktards?  I'm tempted right now to post my fat, ugly Yankee mug with my head tilted to the side and a sign saying "Dear 40, Sorry, we won't let you destroy the American medical system, you sniveling commie pukes, Love 52."

Dandified, Foppish NY Times House Conservative Never Fails To Drink From The Toilet Bowl Of FAIL

David Brooks must believe that if he just overwhelms us with wave after wave of stupidity, we'll just give up and walk away. I mean, how the fuck can you explain this prepackaged pile of shit (warning: NYT Link)?

We’re only in the early stages of the liberal suicide march, but there already have been three phases. First, there was the stimulus package. You would have thought that a stimulus package would be designed to fight unemployment and stimulate the economy during a recession {you would. If dumbfuck idiots like you and the rest of the Yachting Club Cocktail Partry Set were kept away from the levers of power-ed.} But Congressional Democrats used it as a pretext to pay for $787 billion worth of pet programs with borrowed money. Only 11 percent of the money will be spent by the end of the fiscal year — a triumph of ideology over pragmatism {and somebody who claims to be as smart as you do was/is surprised? I hereby revoke my daughter's application package to Yale-ed.}.

Then there is the budget. Instead of allaying moderate anxieties about the deficits, the budget is expected to increase the government debt by $11 trillion between 2009 and 2019 {with help from your beloved Moderate RINOs, I might add. But don't let details get in the way of your fantasy world-ed.}.

Finally, there is health care. Every cliché Ann Coulter throws at the Democrats is gloriously fulfilled by the Democratic health care bills {and that's a bad thing? You are upset that a woman who has more of a pair of balls than you do is willing to fight Obama? Color me shocked!-ed.}. The bills do almost nothing to control health care inflation. They are modeled on the Massachusetts health reform law that is currently coming apart at the seams precisely because it doesn’t control costs. They do little to reward efficient providers and reform inefficient ones {yaknow, maybe you should have researched the bill a little bit instead of relying upon soiled cocktail napkins for your talking points-ed.}.

The House bill adds $239 billion to the federal deficit during the first 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office. It would pummel small businesses with an 8 percent payroll penalty. It would jack America’s top tax rate above those in Italy and France. Top earners in New York and California would be giving more than 55 percent of earnings to one government entity or another {yeah. And us rubes out here in flyover country knew this all along, but did you "smart" people listen? Nooooo-ed}.

Nancy Pelosi has lower approval ratings than Dick Cheney and far lower approval ratings than Sarah Palin {but more plastic in her body that Liberace playing with a wiffle ball bat. But I digress-ed.}. And yet Democrats have allowed her policy values to carry the day — this in an era in which independents dominate the electoral landscape {Funny. When you elect a party that has as its leaders hard core socialists, shit like this happened. Who Knew?-ed}.

Who’s going to stop this leftward surge {I dunno. Is this multiple choice? What about Dick Cheney's Wang. I always like that as my first choice-ed}? Months ago, it seemed as if Obama would lead a center-left coalition. Instead, he has deferred to the Old Bulls on Capitol Hill on issue after issue {No. He is leading them, since they are in agreement on most issues-ed}.

Machiavelli said a leader should be feared as well as loved {oohh! You read "The Prince". So did I. What the fuck is your point? You going to quote Aristotle next?-ed.}. Obama is loved by the Democratic chairmen, but he is not feared {yes he is. By the taxpayers-ed.}. On health care, Obama has emphasized cost control {where? Prove it. And don't just regurgitate White House Talking Points-ed}. The chairmen flouted his priorities because they don’t fear him. On cap and trade, Obama campaigned against giving away pollution offsets. The chairmen wrote their bill to do precisely that because they don’t fear him. On taxes, Obama promised that top tax rates would not go above Clinton-era levels {And you believed him? Who's the imbecile?-ed}. The chairmen flouted that promise because they don’t fear him {no. These bills reflect his true beliefs. He even promised to raise our electricity bills. You must have been tag teaming at the Regatta with George WIll the day that was mentioned.-ed.}.

Gah! I can't take any more. You get the point. It appears as old "Brooksie" is all upset that a Socialist President and Socialist Speaker of the House are running the Democrat Party. And yet, these Democrat "Moderates" come from the Red States. Would Brooks be happier allowing Heath Shuler to run the DNC? I doubt it.

Hope! Change! More Of The Same!

Who knew Obama would behave just like the Evil Booosh?

President Obama has irked close allies in Congress by declaring he has the right to ignore legislation on constitutional grounds after having criticized George W. Bush for doing the same.

Four senior House Democrats on Tuesday said they were "surprised" and "chagrined" by Obama's declaration in June that he doesn't have to comply with provisions in a war spending bill that puts conditions on aid provided to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

In a signing statement accompanying the $106 billion bill, Obama said he wouldn't allow the legislation to interfere with his authority as president to conduct foreign policy and negotiate with other governments.

Earlier in his six-month-old administration, Obama issued a similar statement regarding provisions in a $410 billion omnibus spending bill. He also included qualifying remarks when signing legislation that established commissions to govern public lands in New York, investigate the financial crisis and celebrate Ronald Reagan's birthday.

Did she really fucking say that?!

I so wanna put Sonia Sotomayor and Ted Nugent in a boxing ring. She can fail to defend herself while he pummels the daylights out of her.

And no, you liberal fucking fascists, I'm not advocating domestic violence or battering women. I just want Sotomayor to live up to her very own wise Latina woman's brilliant legal retarditude.

In reply, Sotomayor said that, “I’m trying to think if I remember a case where the Supreme Court has addressed that particular question. Is there a constitutional right to self-defense? And I can’t think of one. I could be wrong, but I can’t think of one.” She then went on to explain that self-defense rights are usually defined by state law.”

Thank heavens for Tom Coburn, asking the questions that shouldn't be hard for any logical person with any Constitutional knowledge whatsoever. Too bad this isn't going to make any mainstream news outlets; they're all too busy doing their hard-hitting reporting on the cannabis iPhone app and a 600-pound turtle.

Once Again, I Am Proud Of My State's Junior Senator

Fuck you, Claire McCaskill. Fuck you. Nice to see you can handle a few middle-age hecklers.

Her statement:

I think we learned from Friday and will do better in the future. In return I hope those that are protesting refrain from banging on the windows and doors continuously. Thanks so much.

And yet, the ACORN thugs who helped you steal the 2006 election due to vote fraud love to protest in front of the private residences of AIG executives and cause trouble everywhere they go. The Union thugs who support you storm offices and attack Republican workers and slash the tires of the workers' vehicles and cause trouble everywhere they go. The Code Pink shiteheads who support you have vandalized military recruiting stations and cause trouble everywhere they go. But protests by your opponents at your offices? I guess you can't handle return fire.

There is no liberal media

Janeane "9/11 was an inside job" Garofalo is showing once again that her world view is...well..."reality based".

the media in the States is much more to the right. I mean there is almost no liberal outlet for news commentary or editorializing."
I suppose when you're to the left of...well, everyone, it might seem like you have no outlet. I'm starting to think this is just a ploy to keep her appearing somewhere, as she hasn't been funny enough to book appearances based on her comedy in a very long time.

Democrats are keeping Democrat-owned auto dealerships open

Surprise, Barney Frank is smack in the middle of this. OK, actually at 1:15, not at 2:20 which would be the actual middle.

Gangster government, indeed.  Listen to the whole thing, GM's behavior is atrocious.  And it's all government backed.

You may recall Rep. Bachmann from her astute observation: "If the Democrats can hose up a light bulb, don't trust them with the country."

Of course we're going to insure illegal immigrants

Despite assurances that illegal immigrants would be excluded from coverage under Obamacare, Democrats are unwilling to back their promises with actual law.

On Friday, Democrats moved one step closer to giving free health insurance to the nation’s estimated 12 million illegal aliens when they successfully defeated a Republican-backed amendment, offered by Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized health care under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and President Barack Obama.
If this comes as a surprise, take a gander at what Sen. Robert Menendez (D-DestroyingOurEconomente) purportedly said at a La Raza healthcare conference:
...Yes [they said they would get free health care for illegal aliens], these are my notes, Mark. They actually got up and said "Latino children need health care more than whites". And then they would say things like "you must go out into your communities, use words like 'streamline', use phrases like 'all workers' and 'all families'," because they said -- and I quote -- "If the American people find out that this bill is about giving health care to non-citizens, they will rise up against it."

...One of the quotes they said was, "We want to make sure we take care of barriers like verification, but we can streamline programs to the more affluent" and, quote, "Useless treatments for the elderly can be gone because we don't need to spend money for people who are going to die anyway."

That's a direct quote from that meeting. They also said, "We are very concerned there will be an effort to include" the illegal immigrants in this argument, so "we must make sure that we focus this" to the American people that it's looking like we want "health care for everyone".

And they also said that 75% of the children who will be picked up in this will be non-citizens and that 44% of the uninsured are non-citizens and they can't possibly allow the American people to know this."
Oh, and What. The. Fuck?!

Never mind the CBO, I'm guessing there's a multiplier that directly corresponds to the number of boxes on that diagram that will tell us how much Obamacare is going to cost in relation to current healthcare costs, and that multiplier is greater than one.

h/t Rep. Jason Chaffetz's twitterfeed for the big scary diagram.

So, Is Obama Going To Be Napoleon Or Wellington?

Seriously, pal, if you are going to start making these analogies to rally your troops, you better be prepared for what will happen next.

On Friday, on a "Conservatives for Patients Rights" conference call with conservative activists dealing with health care reform, Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said, as Ben Smith at Politico reported, "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him."

You should expect to hear that quote this week from the White House as they use it to rally their troops, a White House official tells ABC News.

A message to "the troops" Obama wants to rally, especially his most die hard supporters:

Support for Obamacare collapsing

It is now under 50%, according to WaPo, and actually, Obama's approval is under 60% for the first time as well.  Sweet.  I'm kinda thinking that Obama's popularity is going to collapse.  Obama promised rainbow farting unicorns, and delivered nothing.  Beyond that, the Porkulus has been a colossal waste of money and done nothing (which we all knew would be the case), and he's made so many blunders, both foreign and domestic that I think his support is going to crater in time.

Shocka! Another Liberal Caught Pulling Dirty Tricks On Teh Innertubes.

Yeah, I know. Color me surprised, especially since one of the characters from the original "Netroots" days is in the middle of this.

First, that no matter how long my association with the blogging community in fact because of that long association - it is even more important that I disclose any professional relationship with any candidate or issue I blog about or comment on.

I have failed to do that - I apologize for not doing it.  And it will not happen again.

This failure was mine completely - how I didn't see it or in my own words how I didn't "get it" is beyond me - but I do now - and I will not fail in disclosing my professional relationships with candidates or the causes I believe in or work for in the future.

Second and just as important to me personally is the recent disrespect shown by sockpuppeting.  And I take full responsibility and apologize completely for this as well.  It is no excuse that I knew nothing about it - I promise you I did not. And yes it took bringing it to my attention before I looked into it.

But once I did it became clear to me that interns and a few staff who are my responsibility did create seven DailyKos accounts - two of which were never used but five of which were used to comment and post diaries here for the same candidates I was working for, sockpuppeting the same things I was saying here and elsewhere.  This is so unacceptable that I cannot believe it happened - but it did.

Glenn Greenwald/Wilson/Thomas Ellers is unimpressed.

If The Post Office Is What We Have To Look Forward To When It Comes To Obamacare, Count Me Out

Especially when they can't make payroll.

The presidents of the American Postal Workers Union, National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, National Association of Letter Carriers and National Postal Mailhandlers Union co-signed the Tuesday letter to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina, warning that the U.S. Postal Service is at risk of defaulting on a $5.4 billion payment to prefund retiree health benefits at the end of September.

The letter alleges that USPS “may not be able to make payroll in October and will be forced to issue IOUs instead.”

Yvonne Yoerger, a spokeswoman for USPS, confirmed that the unions wrote the letter but disputed the claim that payroll deadlines will be missed.

“That’s not something that’s been discussed at all,” she said. “We are committed to making payroll.”

Yeah, and I am committed to drinking a gallon of val-u-rite vodka. So what's your point?

But, seriously, how fucking stupid is it when the Post Office. The Fucking Post Office, cannot make payroll?

Sorry, But My Give A Flying Fuck Meter Is Running Empty Today

Honestly, I could give a shit about Obama using his lackey groups to attack wavering Democrats. Let them fight it out withing their own ranks once in a while.

he Democratic National Committee's Organizing for America Arm -- criticized by Harry Reid yesterday for an ad pressuring Senate Democrats on health care -- has launched a similar effort in the House.

A version of the same ad, in which citizens recount their families' health care woes and declare that "it's time" for reform, will be running in 15 media markets around the country.

The ad doesn't say this, but a look at the media markets indicates that the White House political operation hasn't backed off targeting Democrats -- and indeed, has stepped up that program. The ad will appear in 15 markets, all of them within districts of members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the key body for a health care bill. All 15 are occupied by members seen as swing voters inside the committee, and 12 of those 15 members are Democrats.

It's Official: Detroit Now Is More Of A Failed State Than Most Third World Countries

Somalia just called and said, "Damn. You Guys are fucked up!"

Low-priority crimes like breaking and entering {what do these fuckwits consider "high priority"?-ed.}might not be prosecuted and the conviction rates will continue to decline if the proposed budget for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is approved, Prosecutor Kym Worthy told commissioners this morning.

“We can’t even cover our courtrooms anymore,” Worthy said in vehemently disagreeing with the $28-million general fund budget proposed for the prosecutor’s office by Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano. “At some point, if the budget continues to be cut, we’re going to have to start making decisions about what crimes we prosecute.”

Oh. This should be fucking awesome. I sense an entrepreneurial opportunity here. Why not bring Robogeisha, Alex's Boots, MP's Facecocking, and the arsenal of Russ from Winterset up to Michigan, and create our own version of the A-Team before Snake, Chef From South Park, and Adrienne Barbeau's hooters show up? If the shitrags in Detroit are basically admitting that Anarchy Rulz, why not get in on the action?
