Chris Matthews: Fool, Hack, And Astroturing Bad Parent?

No wonder Chris Matthews gets a crowd that parrots his talking points for his audiences. It doesn't hurt that his own daughter is one of his "random" guests spouting talking points.

On Friday's "Hardball," Chris Matthews interviewed a number of student members of the group Concerned Youth of America.

One of those students -- Caroline -- is his daughter, a student at the University of Pennsylvania. Did Matthews disclose that fact as he interviewed her?

Not so much.

One tipster tells FishbowlDC that "Matthews, at the asking of his daughter, instructed the producers not to name her."

Honestly, Mathhews must believe that he has to keep up his end of the retard quotient to stay on par with the rest of the fools at MSNBC.

Chris Matthews Beclowns Himself Yet Again

Look, I have no doubt Chriss Matthews, or most cable TV hosts, really know much about the sponsors for their shows. But, the fact that a man who has been pimping the bailout and championing ACORN is sponsored by a loanshark company with Gary Coleman as its pitchman is a bit ironic.

From the ad:

"The APR for a typical loan of $2,600 is 99.25% with 42 monthly payments of $216.55 with a $75.00 origination fee." That amounts to a total of $9,170.10 in principal, interest and fees on a loan of $2,600.  "Be sure you can afford the monthly payments,"

I guess being an Obama-Bot means never having to have a clue.

Thanks to Newsbusters.

Senator McCain just doesn't get it

This video can't be posted enough or seen enough

I don't understand why McCain hasn't used this in a commercial yet.

Oh wait.  I do know why he hasn't used it.  That would require competence.

Philly's gun control measures rejected by courts

Awesome.  Basically, the Soviet of Philly tried to pass a bunch of gun control laws and an spooky lookin' weapons ban, even though they knew and pretty much acknowledged they were in direct violation of PA gun laws, which Philly has to abide by.  The courts unceremoniously smacked Philly down.  Apparently this isn't the first time the Soviet of Philly has tried this.

Something I've also wondered is if one of the "reasonable" gun control measures the Democrats are thinking of is a federal measure that would allow cities to set their own policies.  This would mean the federal law would override the state laws and give places like Philly the go-ahead to undermine Constitutional rights.

The (oh so subtle) playing of the race card

Gee, I wonder where this analysis of the debate came from. Was it from the Weekly Standard? Or maybe, was it from National Review? It must have come from one of those Reichwing RAAAACIIIIISSSTT!!!!one1!!1!! publications, right?

On the merits, the debate was more of a draw, so that doesn't explain the results. I wonder if there was something else at play. It was like people WANTED to like the black guy but weren't sure.

And tonight reassured them, given his calm poise and wry humor, that Barack Obama was more like Will Smith than Wesley Snipes.

Oops, sorry. It was issued by Markos himself.

How Poorly Did The Messiah Fare Tonight?

So poorly, Chris Matthews' Leg is upset at him.

MATTHEWS: By the way, you go back to the Kennedy-Nixon debate of 1960, the first televised debate.  Seven or eight times Richard Nixon said "I agree completely in the spirit in which Senator Kennedy addressed that issue."  Over and over again.  For some reason Barack Obama repeated those words as if he were channeling Richard Nixon tonight!

Expect a call from Kos and MediaMatters to attend "reeducation camps" tomorrow. Come Monday, I expect Matthews to have a giant bandage on the frontal lobe area of his head.

Thanks to Newsbusters.

How did we get here?

The following video is a pretty good summary of how this whole economic clusterfuck got rolling:

Just a little reminder

Factcheck.org is funded largely by the Annenberg Foundation, which gave $50,000 to the Brady Campaign for Rank Fascism last year.  Surely Factcheck can be trusted to objectively analyze Second Amendment issues.

Obama campaign to NRA

We'll take away your First for defending the Second.

I've been thinking about this, and if nothing else, it shows how damned effective the NRA and pro-2nd organizations have been.  The Obama campaign is scared badly enough by the NRA to feel the need to try and suppress them in this sort of belligerent manner.  Here's to hoping it backfires and loses him support in swing states.

Some Wednesday Night FAIL from David Letterman

Ol' Dave is a little pissed that McCain has canceled his appearance on Letterman's show to return to the Senate for the bailout debate:

Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his metamucil."

"He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara (sic) Palin. Where is she?"

"What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

Yeah, what could be more unpresidential than leaving a talk show to deal with a financial meltdown.

Yeah, like they want breasts anywhere near them...

PETA continues to test the theory that you catch more flies with honey craziness than vinegar:

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman.

"PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the statement says.

PETA officials say a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health.
I would question whether farming out women to nursemaid up some Cherry Garcia would be just as painful to them as it would be to the cows, but we all know that humans aren't as important as our bovine betters.

No, Biden didn't just lose Western Pennsylvania

While Joe Biden saying that there's no way he and Obama would support any clean coal production is one of his best gaffes ever, I disagree that this will lose Western Pennsylvania for the Democratic ticket.

Why?  No offense to DPUD or anyone else, but Pennsylvania's just one of those fickle states that always acts huffy toward any Democratic insults, but always shows up on election day to dutifully vote for the Democratic ticket.

I'd like to dedicate the following to Naomi Wolf, who's apparently been stricken with one of the most acute cases of Palin Derangement Syndrome that's been diagnosed so far:
