TARP Money Going To ACORN? I'm Shocked! Shocked I Tell You!

In news as surprising as discovering that college football is corrupt, TARP Money may be tied to ACORN. Yeah, I know. Knock me over with a feather..

And in a move even less surprising, the Chicago Way is involved, in the name of Jamie Dimon. I found this nugget interesting.

Dimon, of course, is no white-shoe East Coast banker. He’s a Chicago Democrat, deeply plugged in to Obama’s machine — he was said to be Obama’s choice for secretary of the Treasury until advisers convinced the president to go with Tim Geithner — and so it’s no surprise to find his company shunting money ACORN’s way. And where there are Chicago Democrats and a whiff of corruption, can the name Daley be far away? Bill Daley, brother of Chicago mayor Richard Daley and son of Boss Daley, runs JPMorgan Chase’s charitable foundation and also is in charge of the bank’s “corporate social responsibility” office. While it would be unfair to visit the sins of the father (and the brother, and the rest of the Chicago machine) upon the son, Daley is not the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of “social responsibility.” Even leaving aside his family connections, Mr. Daley represents precisely the overlap of Wall Street, Democratic machine politics, and ACORN that ought to give sober observers pause.

Well, if it's sober observers you want, stay away from Congress. But I digress. These two groups are more incestuous than European royalty, and their innerworkings, including the relation another Chicago hack with ties to the banking industry need to be exposed.

What business is it of yours? Oh, it's not.

Looks like the exchange of ideas between Deval Patrick and his good buddy, Barack Obama, is a two-way street...

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick said Wednesday he has instructed state employees to stop doing business with Hyatt hotels until it rehires 100 housekeepers it fired last month.

Hyatt Hotel Corp., citing declining revenues, laid off the Boston-area housekeepers and replaced them with lower-paid workers from a Georgia company.
Now, there are some details in the article that make it sound like Hyatt fired these workers in a pretty dickish manner, but it doesn't sound to me (and, granted, I'm not a law-talkin' guy) like they did anything illegal. That said, since when does an elected official get to push around a private business over its own internal personnel decisions?

Oh, right. Since sometime around January 20th of this year.

When Jim Webb Isn't Writing Bizzare Pron-Like Stories, He Is Busy Coddling Dictators.

In a move that will surprise no one, Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) is tight with the murderous junta leaders over in Burma (yeah, I'm calling it that. If you don't like it, you know how I feel). Sayeth Goldfarb, with a juicy update:

Look to Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) for the answer to those questions.

On September 15 I reported on a closed-door meeting between Senator Webb and Secretary Clinton. Burma watchers raised eyebrows and speculated that Webb was making a last-ditch attempt at influencing the Burma policy review that State Department officials say should be released tomorrow by Clinton in New York City. Webb has been in the forefront of pressing the administration to engage with the regime and drop U.S. sanctions as part of a bizarre effort to check Chinese influence in that shattered country. Sources tell THE WEEKLY STANDARD that Webb enlisted Clinton's help in obtaining a visa for Nyan Win during their meeting last week.

The carefully worded State disclaimer that Nyan Win "did not meet with any government official," would not apply to Webb. In fact, Nyan Win had barely dropped his bags at the Burmese embassy when Webb was banging on the door to meet over the weekend. Webb spent considerable time with Nyan Win during his August tour of Burma -- a visit that will be most remembered for the blunt criticism it prompted from those fighting for freedom in Burma.

Webb has now handed the junta yet another diplomatic victory and delivered a blow to that country's democratic opposition by facilitating Nyan Win's trip to Washington. With the regime's horrific record of abuse and military cooperation with North Korea that could very well involve missile and nuclear proliferation--what is driving Webb to provide moral and political support to the vicious thugs running Burma? Why his highhanded treatment of a democracy movement that continues a battle that should be an inspiration for everyone living in freedom?

One final thought: the Obama administration is issuing visas for members of the Burmese junta while revoking visas for members of the democratic government in Honduras. I challenge any Democrat to defend that double standard.

Now, in light of that, thus sayeth Mr. Von Bear to those on the left who implicitly support this shit by voting for these cocknogglers:

Well, I Guess You Might As Well Give Me My White Sheet

I wonder if Rosetta realized how prescient he was during the last days of the 2008 election and the fact anybody who opposed Obama would be called a racist, justified or not.

Well, we all know how Team Obama has handled any criticism of The One since he took the oath in January, so I won't beat that dead horse with a gazillion links, other than to urge you to look at the flow chart at Missourah.com.

In that case, get me my fucking white sheet and robe, and let's be done with it. But since I now am an official racist, let me get one last blast in to the O-bots who have thrown this charge around:

Say "Hi" to the good guys

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn209/doubleplusundeadnu/HondurasFlag.jpg

Yesterday was Honduras's Independence Day.  We should have marked it, but it didn't get much notice in the MSM.

I'm going to be calling my Congressman today to ask him to recognize Honduran independence.  I hope you'll do the same.

Oh, and fuck all of you: Chavez, the Castro Bros., Ortega, Morales, and Obama. People who believe in the rule of law and democracy are none too happy with any of you, to say the least.

The fact that I had to include the name of my president shames me to no end.

Pete Stark (D-CA) Must Really Love His Constituents

As butt fuckingly stupid, arrogant, and rude Pete Stark was and is, I really have no desire to waste a profanity and dick/rape joke cocktail over a guy who will probably win re-election in his safe district even if he really did piss all over a constituent. So, I will merely present to Pete Stark, D-CA, addressing his constituents, and let you decide for your lonesome.

“I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.”

Thank you, Congressman. Thank you.

You know what?

Fuck you, Jimmah, that's what.  Fuck you with a board studded with rusty nails.  Fuck you with an industrial diamond drillbit.  Fuck you with a bolt of lightning straight from the sky and into your ass.  Fuck you with every goddamn thing that has ever afflicted mankind with pain and suffering since the dawn of time.  Just for good measure, fuck you with the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs before that.

You wanna call me a racist?  Just because I don't like where Obama is taking this country?  You know what that makes you?  That makes you a fucking coward.  You're hiding behind an argument that you can't prove just because you think that will make people like me shut up.  Well, guess what, motherfucker?  That card has been played so many times that it's lost its meaning.

Are there people who hate Obama just because he's black?  You bet your ass that there are.  But you know what?  I would no sooner associate with them than I would kiss your withered, disgraceful ass.  The people on this blog and the vast majority of people who oppose Obama shun ignorant assholes like that.  I couldn't give a good goddamn about the man's skin color, but I think he's leading us down the path to ruin.  Sound familiar?

They say of the presidency that if you can't respect the man, you should at least respect the office, and I agree.  But when you turned that office into a bad, cowardly joke, well, that makes the latter harder.  But thanks for paving the way for your successor, who knew how to deal with our enemies.  Hopefully, someone similar will arise from the ashes of what we've got right now.

Stick to building houses for the downtrodden from now on, because it's the only decent thing you've done in my lifetime.  And do us all a favor and shut the fuck up while you're at it.

I Would Assume Jayden Capewell Would Have Had A Differing Opinion

Whenever politicians want to push an agenda, they bring out human props to demonstrate why or why not a law needs to be enacted or overturned. I understand that, since politics is usually a less virtuous and more fucked up version of theater of the absurd. And the recent Health Care Reform Clusterfuck is no exception. Human props from all sides are being trotted out to defend, support, or oppose Obamacare. Too bad Jayden Capewell will never be allowed to tell his story either in support or opposition to America's attempt to enact a British style NHS. And in his story, the horrors of Socialized Medicine, British Style, are revealed.

Who is Jayden Capewell? Unfortunately, he is becoming a symbol of the cruelty of rationed care. You see, Jayden Capewell had the misfortune to be born massively premature in the United Kingdom. Sadly, Jayden passed away shortly after being born. Unfortunately, that happens every day around the world.

Oh, wait. Did I say shortly after? I should have said "Two Fucking Hours Later". And I guess I should have presented this nugget from his short life story, courtesy of his mother.

Miss Capewell, 23, said doctors refused to even see her son Jayden, who lived for almost two hours without any medical support. She said he was breathing unaided, had a strong heartbeat and was even moving his arms and legs, but medics refused to admit him to a special care baby unit. Miss Capewell is now fighting for a review of the medical guidelines.

Medics allegedly told her that they would have tried to save the baby if he had been born two days later, at 22 weeks. In fact, the medical guidelines for Health Service hospitals state that babies should not be given intensive care if they are born at less than 23 weeks. The guidance, drawn up by the Nuffield Council, is not compulsory but advises doctors that medical intervention for very premature children is not in the best interests of the baby, and is not ’standard practice’. James Paget Hospital in Norfolk refused to comment on the case but said it was not responsible for setting the guidelines relating to premature births. A trust spokesman said: ‘Like other acute hospitals, we follow national guidance from the British Association of Perinatal Medicine regarding premature births.’ Miss Capewell, who has had five miscarriages, said the guidelines had robbed her son of a chance of life.

She said: ‘When he was born, he put out his arms and legs and pushed himself over. A midwife said he was breathing and had a strong heartbeat, and described him as a “little fighter”. I kept asking for the doctors but the midwife said, “They won’t come and help, sweetie. Make the best of the time you have with him”.’ She cuddled her child and took precious photos of him, but he died in her arms less than two hours after his birth. Miss Capewell, who has a five-year-old daughter Jodie, went into labour in October last year at 21 weeks and four days after suffering problems during her pregnancy. She said she was told that because she had not reached 22 weeks, she was not allowed injections to try to stop the labour, or a steroid injection to help to strengthen her baby’s lungs. Instead, doctors told her to treat the labour as a miscarriage, not a birth, and to expect her baby to be born with serious deformities or even to be still-born.

She told how she begged one paediatrician, ‘You have got to help’, only for the man to respond: ‘No we don’t.’ As her contractions continued, a chaplain arrived at her bedside to discuss bereavement and planning a funeral, she claims. She said: ‘I was sitting there, reading this leaflet about planning a funeral and thinking, this is my baby, he isn’t even born yet, let alone dead.’ After his death she even had to argue with hospital officials for her right to receive birth and death certificates, which meant she could give her son a proper funeral.

My response to Obamacare people:

Is Obama Set To Appoint Yet Another Czar?

Yup. It appears as though manufacturing is about to get the rubber fist up the ass treatment next from Obama. He is set to name Ron Bloom to be his "Manufacturing Czar".

Who is Ron Bloom? Why, he is another union hack who, as Just a Grunt over at JWF points out, has a long history of hammering businesses, with the auto industry the most recent victim of Bloom's tactics.

Also at the hearing, Bloom denied that the government had coerced Chrysler's debtholders into dropping a legal protest that they were being treated unfairly in court. Some holders of $6.9 billion in secured Chrysler debt initially protested that they were being pushed behind unsecured creditors such as the United Auto Workers union's retiree health care trust.

But the debtholders dropped their protests after receiving $2 billion in cash to wipe out their debt.

Yeah, this should go well.

Big Brother is watching you

If you thought the flag@ email was Orwellian level creepy, that was just the beginning.  The administration is now hiring some contractor to start building a database of people and profiles from places like Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, Youtube, Flickr and other social networking sites.

They'll be seeking out profiles of people both supportive and critical of Our Lord and Savior.  There's no disclosure clauses, in fact they state that information is not to be disclosed in the contract proposal (Alice notes that this information should fall under the Presidential Records Act, which means it should be publicly accessible).  Seriously, this shit is creepy and we need to shut it down, now.

Profit is theft

In a WaPo op-ed by a couple of liberal pointy-heads that urges Obama to tack left (more so, I mean) and encourages the Axelturfers to get out there and annoy their friends and neighbors about ObamaCare and the rest of the left's dream agenda, I noticed an Obama quote that I don't think I'd seen before:

Throughout the campaign, Obama cautioned that enacting his ambitious plans would take a fight. In a speech in Milwaukee, he said: "I know how hard it will be to bring about change. Exxon Mobil made $11 billion this past quarter. They don't want to give up their profits easily."
Um, what? Since when is a business supposed to "give up" their profits? And just who, Comrade Obama, are they supposed to be giving that money to? Furthermore, if they're not going to cough up the cash "easily," what are you gonna do about it?

The scary thing is that there are three more years during which we might have those questions answered loud and clear.

Harry Reid: Man Of The People

Aha! Dingy Harry finally found a job he doesn't want to "save or create".

On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber's board members for a meet-'n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal's director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal.

Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: "I hope you go out of business."

Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants the Review-Journal to continue selling advertising because the Las Vegas Sun is delivered inside the Review-Journal.

Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.

Exactly. These fucksticks need to be taken down a peg or five. They fucking think they are untouchable and can do what they want? Fuck that shit. Fuck it with a tube sock stuffed with billiard balls. We send you ass clowns to Washington to represent us, and this is what you have in response? Threaten a businessman?

I hope those polls which show you losing in 2010 are correct, Harry, because you need to be fucking taught a lesson. I hope your margin of defeat is wider than the collective sphincters at Media Matters after a Saturday Night Dance Party so that ACORN can't save your smarmy ass.

Remember When Civil Libertarians Accused Bush Of Setting Up A Neo-Fascist Thugocracy?

Yeah, I remember that.I remember how they claimed they were protecting us from the evil Bushies. That's why I expect these Vanguards of Liberty to be all over this story like Oliver Willis on a Filet O Fish.

The Rockefeller proposal plays out against a broader concern in Washington, D.C., about the government's role in cybersecurity. In May, President Obama acknowledged that the government is "not as prepared" as it should be to respond to disruptions and announced that a new cybersecurity coordinator position would be created inside the White House staff. Three months later, that post remains empty, one top cybersecurity aide has quit, and some wags have begun to wonder why a government that receives failing marks on cybersecurity should be trusted to instruct the private sector what to do.

Rockefeller's revised legislation seeks to reshuffle the way the federal government addresses the topic. It requires a "cybersecurity workforce plan" from every federal agency, a "dashboard" pilot project, measurements of hiring effectiveness, and the implementation of a "comprehensive national cybersecurity strategy" in six months--even though its mandatory legal review will take a year to complete.

The privacy implications of sweeping changes implemented before the legal review is finished worry Lee Tien, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation in San Francisco. "As soon as you're saying that the federal government is going to be exercising this kind of power over private networks, it's going to be a really big issue," he says.

Probably the most controversial language begins in Section 201, which permits the president to "direct the national response to the cyber threat" if necessary for "the national defense and security." The White House is supposed to engage in "periodic mapping" of private networks deemed to be critical, and those companies "shall share" requested information with the federal government. ("Cyber" is defined as anything having to do with the Internet, telecommunications, computers, or computer networks.)

"The language has changed but it doesn't contain any real additional limits," EFF's Tien says. "It simply switches the more direct and obvious language they had originally to the more ambiguous (version)...The designation of what is a critical infrastructure system or network as far as I can tell has no specific process. There's no provision for any administrative process or review. That's where the problems seem to start {no fucking shit.-ed}. And then you have the amorphous powers that go along with it."

Kanjorski: Rebuild Faith in Government

Congressman Kanjorski was on CNBC this morning when he left this gem pass his lips:

We have to take the time, now, to start rebuilding faith in government. I mean, after all, if we start thinking about it, the government and the people are one and the same in the American system. So, if you're going to condemn the success of government, you're condemning the success of the people.

Few words are more abrasive and offensive to conservative sensibility. As our political system drifts further away from the prescribed Constitutional order, Kanjo's statement becomes increasingly scary.

The whole video is just under 9 minutes. Skip ahead to about 6:50 to hear the question and response.

Leftist propaganda would be hilarious

If it weren't so goddamned dangerous.  The media's new meme is that there are a bunch of angry whities running around and toting "machine guns" (I'm not going to bother trying to explain the difference between a MG, assault rifle, and a semi-auto version of a military rifle, you know the difference, and they don't care) to protests, and they're doing it to intimidate,

And the always obnoxious and pathetic EJ Dionne,

Yes, I have raised the racial issue, and it is profoundly troubling that firearms should begin to appear with some frequency at a president's public events only now, when the president is black. Race is not the only thing at stake here, and I have no knowledge of the personal motivations of those carrying the weapons. But our country has a tortured history on these questions, and we need to be honest about it. Those with the guns should know what memories they are stirring.

So...he doesn't know what the motivations of those who are open carrying are, but he's just going to assume it's racism because Obama is black.  Right...  I'll just take this moment to point out that that this,

...is the guy with the AR-15 that triggered the huge,

http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x73/doubleplusundeadmeenu/ohnoesiy6.gif
Liberal elites show concern about Open Carry protesters standing around with AR-15's doing nothing at protests

...collective shitstorm of handwringing and panic from the liberal elite.  Well, if I had to guess, AR-15 guy is either black, or that Arizona sun is a lot harsher than I realized.  MSNBC of course, in that clip above where they were screeching about ZOMG WINGNUT WHITEY LYNCHMOBZ!!1!111ELVENTY!ONE!1, decided to edit out any evidence that the black dude with the AR was indeed, not a whitey, in order to meet their narrative.

Now, this just made me laugh, the last bit from EJ Dionne,

Will some group of responsible conservatives, preferably life members of the NRA, have the decency to urge their followers to leave their guns at home when they go out to protest the president? Is that too much to ask?

Dear God that is beautiful.  You have to love when some Marxist shitbag like EJ Dionne has to beg the NRA and conservatives like this.  Do you think you'd even read something like that five years ago?  No way would a leftist lower themselves to begging the NRA like this.  This is so fucking awesome.

Open Carry protestors took a huge gamble doing a carry at big events like this, it could have caused a huge backlash.  Fortunately, thus far they've done it in a smart, responsible way, and I think the shrieking, dishonest hysterics from the media, combined with the "eh, it's legal" response from the Administration, is going to be a victory for Open carry advocates as long as everyone continues to do things responsibly like this guy in Arizona, along with many others.

Yawn. More Astroturfing And Rent-A-Mob Bullshit From Team Obama

Seriously, this shit is starting to get fucking old. This time, it's in Michigan.

Here is a statement from some Michigan Reporter on the astroturfing,

Several readers have criticized the Citizen Patriot's coverage of last week's health care rally outside U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer's office, where hundreds came out — both to support and oppose — President Barack Obama's reform plan.

The chief criticism was that we failed to mention that some supporters were bused in from around the state.

It is true, and it wasn't included in the original story, but not because we were trying to slant coverage. The simple truth is it was a difficult fact to nail down.

You're reading this story today because Tuesday I was able to confirm with the Service Employees International Union that it rented vans and encouraged people to carpool to the event. About 100 SEIU members attended, from as far away as Muskegon and Detroit, said Zac Altefogt, a spokesman for SEIU Healthcare Michigan.

While covering the rally last Thursday, myself and another reporter were told by several opponents of the reform plan that supporters were bused in. But we did not see the buses that night and were unable to pose the question to the supporters' organizer before our deadline.

We left it out of the Friday story because we cannot print speculation as fact.

On Friday, we followed up with Organizing for America, which put out the call for supporters to attend the event. OFA state director Aletheia Henry assured us that her group had not bused people to the rally.

We wrote a short follow-up Saturday and thought it was resolved.

Then this week, some readers e-mailed us photos of supporters standing in front of a bus from Trinity Transportation parked several blocks away near Family Video, 1111 W. Ganson St.

My colleague followed up with Henry. We told her we understood OFA hadn't chartered the buses, but we wondered if she knew who had. She refused to answer the question and then hung up the phone.

Seems like an overreaction to a news organization simply looking for a straight answer.

I give credit to SEIU for not being ashamed to let the community know they used mass transit to get their members to the rally.
So, will that count as a job created or saved by Obama? And what about the carbon footprint for this venture?

Trouble At A Union Backed Town Hall? Surely You Cannot Be Serious.

I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

Hundreds of people showed up for a town hall meeting in Orlando to have their voices heard in the healthcare debate, but most of them never made it in the door.

The meeting hosted by Congressman Alan Grayson was held in a union hall that had a capacity of 125 people. Inside the hall the crowd was passionate, but under control. Outside, however, it was nearly a mob scene {gee. I wonder where that meme came from-ed.}.

Before the meeting even started, hundreds of people were lined up outside but only 125 could get in. People lined up outside the meeting venue were fired up and chanting.

"He picks hall with 128-seats, fills half of them before we get here," said Mike Dwyer, concerned citizen.

Seriously, are you shocked, Mr. Concerned Citizen, that a Union Backed Democrat would stack the deck at a town hall? How naive can you be?

But, at least things didn't get as rowdy as they did in NC.
