Now see, this is how you do it, GOP leadership

Rep. John Carter proposes the Rangel Rule Act of 2009, which would allow anyone who had to file to pay back taxes to the IRS to write "Rangel Rule" on their return to have penalties and interest waived.

See, this is exactly the kind of smartass, snarky thing the GOP should do to the Democrats, and they should have been doing it during their time as majority too, along with, you know, actually reducing the size and power of government.  Maybe they're finally learning their lesson.  Maybe.  We'll see.

Maybe they aren't totally spineless

At least in the House, all of the House GOP opposed the Bankrupt America Act of 2009.  Hey, GOP leadership, more of this, please.

Not-so-random thought: 2010 Midterms Edition

How many House and Senate seats could the GOP win back if they had one simple, cohesive message:  No more bailouts.

Certainly, recruited candidates could be mavericky on other issues from district to district, but I think that by 2010 an anti-bailout message could be very popular.

Finally! A Republican challenging a Democrat for office.

I'd rather not think of Sens. Kit Bond (R-LAME) and George Voinovich (R-FAIL) right now, so here's something positive.  Former U.S Attorney Chris Christie has announced his intentions to run for Governor of New Jersey against Jon Corzine.
