Leva responds

So, if you missed out on this whole thing, Todd Leva, a sometime columnist for the Holland Sentinel had a lengthy discussion with some of us morons over a column where he was critical of Rush's "fails" comment.  Leva has a new column up, which is worth checking out

CNN cites commentary from "heralded," "noted" "conservatives"

Trust me, the scare quotes are really, really, really justified here.

Breaking news!

The nation has waited on pins and needles to hear Barack Obama's stance on an important issue...

For his part, the president has refrained from settling the issue -- at least publicly.
But, soon, we may have an answer.  Thank God.  We can finally exhale.

This is why the MSM got a thrill up their collective leg

Instead of giving grant money to retrain blue-collar workers who have been teched out of their jobs, the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership will be contributing to a fund to retrain journalists to figure out how to write for the Intarwebs.

I have a better solution - fire all the print journalists and hire a bunch of bloggers.  No retraining to deal with technology required, but we might have to be mesmerized into Obamazombiedom.

I can't decide...

...whether I should picture the authors of this WaPo piece drooling on their keyboards, hyperventilating into paper bags, or doing something altogether more obscene as they fawn over Obama jamming the Spendulus down our throats.

I love Jake Tapper

He's easily the least in-the-tank reporter I've seen in a long time.  Plus, any reporter who frequents Dennis Miller's show can't be all bad.

Diabeetus

Gaze upon the kind of sugary sweet cutesy-poo hard-hitting journalism we can expect from the MSM over the next four years.

Yeah.

Hey! You Know Who Thinks Iraq Is Going Well?

ABC News, that's who. Now, they are doing so as a means of helping The Messiah defend a withdrawal from Iraq, but any port in a storm is fine.

SCIUTTO TO MAHMOUD OTHMAN: Is this the end of the war?

MAHMOUD OTHMAN, IRAQI PARLIAMENT MEMBER: If the Iraqi leaders could get together and work together sincerely, yes, this could be the end of the war.

SCIUTTO: The end of the war here?

OTHMAN: Could be.

SCIUTTO: For the U.S., a different kind of relationship with Iraq, less protector than ally. Jim Sciutto, ABC News, Baghdad.

The New York Times wants Daschle out

It's a weird day when the New York Times is (I'm guessing) to the right of more than a few GOP Senators

Update:  I think I've found the perfect candidate to replace him.  He's recently become available and is looking for work, and he and Pres. Obama have mutual admiration for each other.  And if you don't agree, then you, sir, are racist.

Diane Sawyer is a consummate professional

It looks like Anderson Cooper wasn't the only one who had a little too much Hopey Changey fun on Inauguration Day...

Hollywood leads the way

I was reading this article on Obama and celebrities and what their relationship may be like, and this bit jumped out at me:

“The more active Hollywood becomes, the more active the public will be,” said Phil Viardo, a Los Angeles-based agent and producer. “Hollywood is a huge motivating factor. One thing is undeniable: People can say all they want about Hollywood’s opinion, but the majority of Americans look up to and listen to celebrities.”
I don't know about that, Phil. Lots of people like reading about celebrities or watching celebrity news (especially when said celebrities are getting knocked down a peg for doing something stupid) but when was the last time you (and I'm not talking to Phil here anymore) heard someone say something to the effect of "Gee, I wish [insert celebrity name] would talk more about politics"?

On the other hand, there are a lot of stupid people out there (somewhere around, oh, say, 52% of the public) so Phil might be on to something.
