Gee, Yet Another Liberal Pundit Using The Same Line Against Limbaugh.

Earlier in the week, I posted something about the seeming coordination among liberal pundits regarding their handling of Rush Limbaugh. Well, a thord pundit is using the same phrase, verbatim.

PAUL BEGALA, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: And a good choice. It's none of my business, it's not my party. But Michael's been here in THE SITUATION ROOM many times, we've debated issues. Terribly smart guy. I like that he's run for office. He served as Maryland's lieutenant governor. He had some failed bids for office, which is good too. You learn a lot from the canvas. So, good for them.

But I think Candy's piece is instructive. The real leader of the Republican Party in America today is a corpulent drug addict with an AM radio talk show, Rush Limbaugh. He's the real power in the Republican Party. And so Michael Steele is going to need to stand up to Limbaugh if he wants to actually lead the party of Lincoln.

Gee. Somehow, I get the feeling a talking point is circulating.

The Drop In GDP Put In Perspective

As a disclaimer, I want to note that things are rough out there right now, and if you have lost your job, or know a person who has, I am not attempting to minimize it or downplay it. But, the drop was not as bad as predicted.

I know the Deciders are still trying to overhype the drop, with this as example:

The weakness in the fourth quarter was masked by a buildup in inventories, which adds to output even if they are unwanted. Real final sales for domestic product, which excludes inventories, decreased 5.1% in the fourth quarter.

Nice try buddy.

Anyway, I don't want to go all Kos-like in my conspiracy theories, but I wonder if the Deciders want things to sound worse so that they can hype The Magic Unicorns, and then claim that The Messiah's policies have lifted us out of this slump, and not the natural business cycle.

...that we're going to see plenty of this over the next four to eight (or eight to ten, depending on who you ask*) years?

Bush laughed off the blunder, but the pictures still live on as part of Bush's lame duck legacy. However, there was little note taken of Obama's rookie mistake.

Is It Just Me, Or Is Some Coordination Going On In The Media?

Remember back in 2000, when almost all of the deciders starting talking about Dick Cheney and "gravitas" all at the same time?

Well, I almost wonder if another batch of coordination is going on in the more diseased parts of the media. Remember the Kos "Townhouse" system of sending out talking points to various bloggers, resulting in virtual unanimity of thought? I almost wonder if a "Townhouse" system is now in place, where the more unstable members of the media parrot the same lines on the air in support of The Messiah.

What A Shock That The Moonbats Can't Get Over Their BDS

In a move that will shock nobody, when not shilling for Obama or attacking The Messiah's critics, the moonbats still can't get over George W Bush. Almost nightly, some show on MSNBC is calling for mass arrests and show trials of former Administration officials, or blaming some problem Obama faces on the former President.

Not surprisingly, Keith Olbermann is on the vanguard for this mental illness, going so far as to claim that some "innocent" dude's time at Club Gitmo caused him to become a terrorist. Never mind that his network's own military and terrorism experts disagreed with him.

Nice to see Olbermann never lets the facts get in the way of his work.

I figured out why BHO rescinding the ban on international abortion funding isn't "divisive"

Earlier, the AP noted that President Obama's* first week was totally wicked awesome and full of Change^tm and togetherness.  DrewM was confused about this, noting the multitude of divisive things our Lord and Savior had done in the last week that were not exactly the most post-partisan, including The One allowing funding for international abortions. 

I knew He worked in mysterious ways, but it took our Deciders across the pond to figure it out for us (emphasis mine):

Mr Obama has pledged to end the culture wars on social issues that have riven American politics for a generation and did not allow television cameras to film him signing the executive order reversing the Bush abortion funding ban on aid agencies abroad, in order not to provoke pro-life groups.

See, it's not divisive because he didn't allow himself to be filmed doing it.  If I were more cynical, I would have thought it was to bury it, since He did it without television cameras on a Friday and all.

But wait, there's more!

When he finally did sign the order he issued a statement in a bid to placate abortion critics by promising to "reach out to those on all sides of this issue to achieve the goal of reducing unintended pregnancies." He added: "It is time that we end the politicisation of this issue."

We need to end the politicisation of the issue by leaving our arguments at the door.  You see, Obama needed to reach out "to those on all sides of this issue" by reaching out to his side and telling everyone else to STFU. 

The saddest part?  If McCain had won, I'm pretty sure I would be writing this same post right now, except about Guantanamo, cap and trade, offshore drilling, taxes, the stimulus bill, and/or immigration.

Name That Party: Portland Mayoral sex scandal edition

I've read through this story two or three times, and I'll be damned if I can find any mention of the guy's political affiliation:

The mayor of Portland, Ore., told city commissioners Sunday he will not resign despite calls for him to do so after he admitted he lied and asked a teenager to lie about their sexual relationship.

Mayor Sam Adams publicly apologized this past week for lying early in his campaign about the relationship with an 18-year-old man in 2005.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess he's a Dem, seeing as how the AP probably would have put the word "Republican" in flashing red fifty point type in the headline if he happened to be one of ours.

Shocka! The Deciders Have Discovered (Post Election) That Obama Is Centralizing Authority

Good thing The Deciders were busy with the important topics during the election, such as Trig Palin's parentage and Joe The Plumber's Tax Files. But the best part, to me, are these tidbits:

Pulling power close is something all recent presidents have done – and on the campaign trail, Obama spoke out against George W. Bush’s attempt to expand his executive authority.

But when it comes to building his own team, Obama is taking the notion of a powerful White House staff to new heights, leaving little doubt who will set policy and guide the politics of the his newborn administration.

Name That Party, Hooker Edition

Apparently, a high priced call girl was arrested recently in Chicago. In and of itself, that is not big news. But a paragraph from this story caught my attention.

Cohen allegedly solicits customers under the name Charlie Sunn, with a Web site that touts her attributes -- 34D-24-34 -- as well as the services she offers. The Saigon-born, 37-year-old woman is Vietnamese and Swedish, according to her Web site. Public records show she is a registered Republican and holds a hunting license in Nevada.

Ironically, in the preceding paragraph, Eliot Spitzer's name was mentioned. And guess what was missing from that article?

So, I emailed the writer, Frank Main, to ask if they were playing "name that Party". Send him some love as well.

Newsbusters Should Probably Start A New Website Just To Take On MSNBC

I know Ace posted something (I forgot the link) chronicling Round 1 of Newsbuster's coverage of MSNBC and its comically blatant bias. Well, they are up with almost four new posts (and counting, I'm sure) exclusively on the network that gave up even the faintest pretense of neutrality long ago. And of he new ones, my favorite has to be this one, where Matthews and Olbermann take on those who heckled President Bush.

Now, Matthews did criticize the hecklers, because he thought it was bad form. So far, so good. Nice to see he at least had a modicum of respect for the man and the office. Olbermann, however, stayed true to his moonbat roots as his reasoning for calling out the hecklers.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Don’t do that. Don’t boo, don’t boo, don’t boo.

RACHEL MADDOW: That’s a surprise. We’re hearing some booing and that is a surprise.

MATTHEWS: Bad form here.

MADDOW: That is not what I expected.

[SPECTATORS CAN BE HEARD CHANTING "Hey, hey, goodbye"]

KEITH OLBERMANN: Far be it forme to have been critical of anyone critical of this President, obviously, but, unfortunately, during that demonstration, something of the introduction of Mrs. Obama was lost because people were singing the, they still are, the "Hey, hey," song from various sporting events over the year, towards the 43rd President.

My emphasis there.

Get that? Olbermann was upset that the hecklers took away from Mrs. Obama. Nice to see he has his priorities.

I have a feeling Newsbusters will be extra busy keeping track of the Olbermann Netwrok.
