Because it's not like I hated flying enough

So. A passenger ignited a powdery substance on a Delta flight landing in Detroit from Amsterdam.

Guess who gets to fly Delta through Detroit tomorrow!

Gee. It's Almost As Though The Iranians Really Are Bad Guys

I mean, what are the odds of this being a mere coincidence?

Ramin Pourandarjani, a doctor at Kahrizak, later testified to a parliamentary committee and reportedly told them that a young protester he treated died from severe torture. He said he was also forced by security officials to list the cause of death as meningitis, according to opposition Web sites.

Pourandarjani died on Nov. 10 in mysterious circumstances, with authorities initially saying he was in a car accident, had a heart attack or committed suicide.

Forensic tests showed that the doctor died of "poisoning by drugs" that matched doses of propranolol found in a salad that was delivered to him, Dowlatabadi said Tuesday. "A large number of these pills must be used for a person to pass away from them," he said.

Propranolol is used to treat high blood pressure, rapid heart rate and tremors, and can be lethal in high doses.

The restaurant delivery man told investigators that he gave the salad directly to Pourandarjani and described how the doctor took it from him at the door of his room, then closed the door behind him, Dowlatabadi said. The delivery man is not under arrest, he said.

Calypso Louie Just Renewed His Membership In The Krazy Konspiracy Klub

Sadly, this clown is not the craziest conspiracy nut to cross the innertubes today. That award goes to the one and only Louis Farrakhan, who blames the Ft. Hood shooting on (wait for it)...

....

....

Teh Jooos. Shocking, I know. At least one would hope that Louie would be able to credit the Lizard People or something.

Major Al-Qaida Attacked On NY Subway Foiled?

Wow. You mean that despite Obama's willingness to give in to Iran and Al-Qaida, they still want to kill us? Color me shocked.

The chemicals bought were similar to those used to make the 2005 London Tube and bus explosives which killed 52 people.

Zazi, from Denver, Colorado, is understood to have been given instructions by a senior member of al Qaeda in Pakistan over the internet.

US authorities allegedly found bomb-making instructions on his laptop and his fingerprints on batteries and measuring scales they seized.

A phone containing footage of New York's Grand Central Station, thought to have been made by him during a visit a week before his arrest, was also found along with explosive residue. Zazi was also said by informants to have attended a terrorist training camp in Pakistan.

The alleged plot was unmasked after an email address that was being monitored as part of the abortive Operation Pathway was suddenly reactivated.

Operation Pathway was investigating an alleged UK terrorist cell but went awry after the then Met Police counter-terrorism head Bob Quick was pictured walking into Downing Street displaying top secret documents.

Eleven Pakistani suspects were arrested immediately after the gaffe but later released without charge.

However, security staff continued to monitor the email address which eventually yielded results.

The British discovery also came at just the right time – the US had threatened to sever intelligence links over the release of Lockerbie bomber Al Megrahi.

A British security source told The Sun: "This was excellent work and highlights the fact we produce good information.

"(The US authorities) were delighted with the intelligence we gave them and believe it helped prevent a catastrophic attack."

Ho Hum. Another Taliban Strike In Pakistan.

Except that this one seems to have been a little too close to a nuclear facility.

The suicide bomber detonated outside a security checkpoint near the Kamra Air Weapon Complex in the district of Attock, Geo News reported. Three security personnel and four civilians were killed in the blast, and 12 more were wounded.

The attack is the latest in a string of suicide strikes and military assaults by the Taliban against Pakistan's security forces, the government, and civilians. Today the Taliban assassinated a senior general and his driver near the general's home in Islamabad. Yesterday the Taliban conducted a dual suicide attack at Islamic International University in Islamabad. The Taliban has announced it is at war with the state so long as South Waziristan remains under military siege.

The Kamra Air Weapon Complex is one of three military industrial production facilities in the Wah Cantt, according to Global Security. The Pakistani Ordnance Factories, a collection of 14 factories that produce arms and ammunition for the Pakistani armed forces, and Heavy Industries Taxila are also contained within the Wah Cantt. More than 40,000 Pakistanis are employed at the factories.

Kamra is believed to be connected with Pakistan's nuclear weapons program. The Pakistani Ordnance Factories are believed to store nuclear weapons at a "screwdriver level" - meaning the components are stored disassembled and can be assembled within hours of needed use.

I'm sure this was merely a coincidence, right?

I Guess It Was OK, So Long As They Didn't Burn Those Crosses

Wow. I knew that Sudan was so fucked up, basket cases call up to tell them to straighten their shit out. But this is fucking ridiculous.

Marauding bands of guerrillas have "crucified" seven Christians during a series of raids on villages in Sudan, with one man tied to a tree and mutilated while six other victims were nailed to pieces of wood and killed.

Villagers who found their bodies near the town of Nzara said it was like a "grotesque crucifixion scene", the Catholic Herald reports {as opposed to a clean one?-ed}.

Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of Tombura-Yambio is appealing for international help to stop the cycle of violence and attacks by members of the Lord's Resistance Army, saying the government at home appeared powerless against it.

No, Bishop. I hate to say it, but I get the feeling that the "government" of Sudan, as awful as it is, probably condones, or will at least look the other way, as this savagery happens. And you know what is odd? Suddenly, leftarded Hollywood types don't seem too interested in Sudan anymore. It's almost as though something happened within the last year or so to change their minds.

Zazi Indicted on WMD Charges

Odd considering the lack of any indication that chemical, biological or nuclear weapons were present in any form.  Now, it may be the case that they were and we just haven't heard about them yet but if they weren't, we now have proof that Iraq was chock full of WMD's since apparently the term has been toned down to include any device intended for the mass harm.

Anyone have any information on what they mean by WMD in this charge?

Worthless Aide To Worst President Ever Should Just STFU

Seriously, Ziggy. Shut the fuck up, take your glass of warm milk, go to bed, and leave your dipshittery at the door.

DailyBeast: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?

Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

DB: What if they fly over anyway?

Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

Shocka! Released Jihadi Repents And Becomes Peace Activist.

Actually, that would be a shocker. Instead, yet again, we get the truth as to what happens when jihadis are released back into the wild.

A terrorism suspect recently detained in Pakistan is the same Swedish national {?!1!1!! Fucking Scandis!-ed.}once held by the United States at Guantanamo Bay, police said Monday. He and others in his group were reportedly trying to join al Qaeda in the country's lawless tribal areas {Well, thank goodness this guy had nothing but the pre-2001 maps and road guides to use.-ed}.

The development appeared to underscore the difficulty with predicting the path that detainees at the U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will take upon their release, with the Pentagon having acknowledged that a small but notable percentage {you mean, like damn near 100% if they were able to do so?-ed}of one-time inmates have joined, or rejoined, militant groups.

No. Fucking. Shit. And to think, an imbecile like me can figure this shit out, so why can't the geniuses in Washington?

French Schools Redefine Truancy To Include "Forced Marriages"

Ummm....am I wrong, or is this just totally and completely buttfuckingly fucked up?

“For a long time this used to be considered a cultural thing,’’ said Fatima Lalem, who is in charge of gender equality at Paris City Hall. “Something that happens, but that people don’t look at too closely.’’ Over the past year, France has begun to tackle the problem more aggressively. Last November, Paris City Hall published a guide advising officials on detecting forced marriages.

But former victims and activists, many of them second- or third-generation immigrants working in France’s multicultural suburbs, said such moves were unlikely to help women married off abroad, or scared into silence.

Zeliha Alkis, who works for Elele, a nonprofit organization that mainly helps women of Turkish origin, cites the example of a young woman of Turkish descent who was married to a Turkish man at a Paris town hall this summer. On her wedding night, she was locked in a room, and when she protested, her grandmother tied her up so the marriage could be consummated.

In many other cases, the women are married in the family’s country of origin. Reasons include the family wanting to ensure the woman marries a candidate deemed suitable, settling a debt, and procuring a visa for the groom. Unlike arranged marriage, which can be consensual, these weddings are performed against the women’s will.

The Ironing Is Delicious, Iran Nukes Edition

Funny, Iran all of a sudden wants internation law and treaties to come into play.

Instead, all of the diplomats said the Iranian initiative seeks support for a generally worded document prohibiting all armed attacks against nuclear installations anywhere, when 150 nations convene for the September general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency {an agency more impotent than an old man without Viagra-ed.}.

"We are not worried about Israel," said Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran's chief envoy to the IAEA. "Nobody dares to do anything against Iran."

He said an Iranian resolution will seek a worldwide ban on such attacks as "a matter of principle." {yeah, the principle of using nuclear weapons on Israel-ed.}

"I think this is an urgent concern for all of the international community," he said. "All member states will support the idea."

We'll see. And just remember, this is all for Mother Gaia, not Iran's nuclear missiles.

The IAEA's general conference already passed a resolution in September 1990 entitled "Prohibition of All Armed Attacks Against Nuclear Installations Devoted to Peaceful Purposes Whether Under Construction or in Operation."

But Soltanieh, who said his country was a key architect of that document, said a fresh resolution was called for because "nuclear installations all over the world are increasing and any sort of threatening attacks ... will have radiological consequences all over the world."

But Israeli warplanes have attacked nuclear sites before, and Iran appeared to be trying to ramp up diplomatic pressure on the Jewish state in hopes of reducing the chances of an attack.

The country's war planes crippled Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor in 1981 to prevent Saddam Hussein from the means of developing nuclear weapons. More recently, an Israeli air attack nearly two years ago destroyed what the U.S. says was a nearly finished nuclear reactor in Syria that would have been able to produce plutonium when completed.

Israel, which is considered to have nuclear weapons, has been quiet publicly regarding its military intentions but has sent several signals to Iran.

Thanks to Veeshir and the Lemur King.

I wonder what signal that was and is.

Comforting News From Pakistan

Three times?  Great.

Pakistan's nuclear facilities have been attacked at least three times by home-grown extremists in little-reported incidents over the last two years, according to security experts, reports the Times of India.

The incidents include an attack on a nuclear missile storage facility at Sargodha on Nov. 1, 2007, and a homicide bombing at the nuclear airbase at Kamra on Dec. 10, 2007, as tracked by Shaun Gregory, director of the Pakistan Security Research Unit at the University of Bradford in the UK.

Sleep tight.

In somewhat more reassuring news, it seems there is some strife at the top of the Taliban power structure:

A top Pakistani official says the government has information that a leading candidate to replace the Pakistani Taliban leader believed killed recently was shot dead Saturday in a gunfire exchange between supporters of senior Taliban leaders.

Hamas. Labor Unions. The Mob. What's The Diff?

Actually, not much. They are tight with Obama and the Democrats and support them. They use violence, bloodshed, and intimidation to achieve their goals. And they engage in shady business dealings regarding building projects.

So far, Hamas has taken control of millions of dollars transferred monthly by Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad to the UNDP and designated for Gazans whose homes were destroyed during Operation Cast Lead last winter.

At the meeting, Hamas officials told the UN representatives they wanted to be able to draw up the list of people who would receive the money, according to the Defense Ministry document. The sides decided to set up joint committees and to continue to meet in the future.

"This is an indication to us that there is no effective mechanism that can be established that will bypass Hamas and ensure the money goes straight to the Palestinian people," the senior defense official said.

Israeli government sources said it was "no secret" that UN officials in Gaza were having talks on a technical level with Hamas regarding the distribution of humanitarian aid there.

According to the officials, UNRWA and UNDP had "no choice" but to have some contact with Hamas officials in order for the assistance to be transferred. They added that Israel could live with that situation as long as the talks remained only at the technical level and did not become political in nature.

One official said efforts to develop a mechanism through which money for the rehabilitation of Gaza could be channeled into the region, without in any way strengthening or helping Hamas, is continuing. This effort has been going on since the end of Operation Cast Lead in January, and hundreds of millions of dollars of international aid that has been contributed for rebuilding the Gaza Strip is not being allowed in until such a mechanism is created.

Of course. Blame Teh Joooosss and not the hopelessly corrupt Hamas crowd.

Thanks to Alice.

Attractive financing also available on bridge in Brooklyn

A bunch of ordinary, non-extremist folks gathered at a Hilton in Oak Lawn, IL this weekend for a conference called "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam," which was not at all related to anything shady...

Despite the charged rhetoric, Hizb ut-Tahrir insists that it condemns terrorism "by all means," spokesman Mohammad Malkawi told reporters Sunday.

"It is not in our dictionary," Malkawi said. "We condemn it by all means … From our perspective, our records are clean on this issue."

Malkawi said the group had "never indulged in recruiting" jihadists.

Yeah. Be sure to click on the link to find out about some of the group's Gandhi-esque alumni.

More Uighurs Must Be Angling For A Trip To Paradise, And Not The 72 Virgins Type

Jon at Exurban League tweets that the Uighurs may be stirring some shit up again.
Hmm...seeing as how the USA and Britain are paying for those four Uighurs to live in Paradise on Earth in the Caribbean, these folks must believe that they can get the same treatment.

Can you blame them? If the choices were an all expense paid trip to the beaches of the Caribbean, living as an oppressed minority in China, or having to live with 72 women for all time, with no hope for anything better, wouldn't you pick a trip to Gitmo, Bermuda, or Palau?
