So. About that mosque at Ground Zero thing. Yeah, all us paranoid freaks have a right to be concerned.

I maintain my position on this - I'll have no problem with the mosque being opened there when I can walk down a street of Mecca holding hands with my girlfriend on the way to a synagogue.

I missed Draw Mohammed Day yesterday thanks to accidentally chlorine gassing myself just a little bit, so we're going to pretend that this picture is my contribution since it's just bizarre enough that I wanted to blog about it anyway:



Here's the link to the Ebay auction.  I have two comments about it.

   1. I never would have thought to describe this as "romantic", and
   2. Thank heavens this is not a used item.

Oh, and no, this isn't what I was looking for on Ebay when I found it.

It's Draw Mohammad Day! Here's my position on this - I will respect the views of the portions of Islam that believe it is forbidden to show illustrations of Mohammad once they respect my right to continue to be alive and queer. Until then? Yeah, not interested in hearing about how their poor little feelings are hurt.

Now, I can't draw. My drawing abilities are worse than my mathematical abilities. Thus, I'm posting a 16th century woodcut (mainly because I love woodcuts):

It's fantastic to see this. Religious cop in Saudi Arabia stops a couple in an amusement park to ask if they are married. Remember, it's a crime in Saudi Arabia for an unmarried woman to socialize with a man. The guy collapses. The chick? Beats the shit out of the cop.

Good.  It's about damn time.
