It's just a lot of posturing and bullshit. The rating agencies are a bad joke, as anyone who watched their AAA rated CDOs turn into toilet paper can attest.

Interesting. So it's basically a wimpy little warning in a Droopy voice, when they should be cratering the US rating. Good to know.

Yep. From my (admittedly limited) perspective the markets have been treating our debt as if our credit rating has already been downgraded, so we've got that going for us.
