So, Are You Stimulated?

Ok, we know that the Funemployment jumped again. But remember how Obama claimed that he would "save or create" a bazillion and eleventy jobs with his Porkulus bill?

Ummm.....not so much.

  • Over 6,500 of all the “created or saved” jobs are cost-of-living adjustments (COLA), which is really just a raise of about 2% for 6,500 people. That’s not a job saved, no matter how you calculate it.
  • Over 6,000 of the jobs are federal work study jobs, which are part time jobs for needy students. As such, they’re not really “jobs” in the sense that most other federal agencies report job statistics (We don’t count full time college students as “unemployed” in the statistics.)
  • About half of the jobs (over 300,000) fall under the “State Fiscal Stabilization Fund”, which can be described like so: Your state (perhaps it rhymes with Balicornia) can’t afford all the programs it has running, but when the state government tries to raise taxes, people yell and scream and threaten to move. The federal government comes in with stimulus funds and subsidizes the state programs. Consider this a “reach-around” tax in which the state can’t raise taxes its citizens any more, but the federal government can. So the federal government just gives the state the money to keep running programs they can’t afford on their own.
  • There are, scattered hither and non, contracts and grants that state in no unclear language that “This project has no jobs created or retained” but lists dozens, if not hundreds, of jobs that have been “saved or created” by the project. It makes no sense whatsoever.
  • Not only that, but it appears as though more jobs were lost last month than Obama has "saved or created". So, in other words, no progress has been made at all under Obama. Things have actually become worse.

    How fucking presidential

Over a third of the speech for 'shout outs', and seems more like his teleprompter has broken than that he's actually grieving during the last two thirds.

God bless our troops, and God bless those who have lost their lives or are injured today.

    Senator Bennet, you dodgy scumbag

Just who the hell do you think you represent, Senator Bennet?  The people you had arrested for seeking an audience regarding Obamacare?  Apparently not.

I can't wait for you to be a less-than-one-and-done.  You walked away from Denver Public Schools, reneging on your promise to stay the course, and now you're walking away from your own constituents.

    Beyond incomprehensible

I can't even begin to understand why someone would think setting fire to the 9/11 memorial chapel would be OK.  Unless he was told by his government that September 11 was really Green the Block day and he thought he was just doing his part to clean up the area.

We are in for a helluva upswing!

    http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/allish/DPUD/37408929.jpg

That's the only explanation for these numbers that I can think of - not only have 49 out of 50 states lost jobs since the February stimulus job creation estimate was put out, but eight states have lost more jobs than they're supposed to gain by the end of next year!  If we accept the premise that we all know is true, that Obama is infallible, then we're going to have OVER! SIX! MILLION! NEW! JOBS! within the next 14 months!  WOOHOO!!!!!1!!!ELEVENTYONE!!!

Even Helen Thomas thinks Obama's an idiot

Helen Thomas thinks Obama's fighting a losing battle against Fox.

I really wish Mary Katharine Ham had followed the lead of some other blogs and posted a picture of, say, herself, instead of Helen Thomas, so as not to require the eyebleach.  In other words, there's a picture over there that is gonna make you double over in pain.

    Stupid question of the day

(yeah, it's been a few days, but I want to bring the prime stupidity)

Is it legal for an employer to ask who someone voted for in the last presidential election, and make a decision based on that?  I wouldn't write off a liberal just for being liberal, but having voted for Obama shows such an utter lack of judgment and foresight that I don't think hiring someone who voted for him would be choosing someone with good long-term planning skills.

Maybe The Russians Didn't Hear About The Nobel Prize

You mean Obama's efforts to diminish the United States on the World Stage have not worked with the Russians? Color me shocked!

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that the threat of sanctions against Iran would be counterproductive, resisting U.S. efforts to win agreement for measures if Iran fails to prove that its nuclear program is peaceful.

Lavrov spoke following talks with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is trying to gauge Moscow's willingness to join the U.S. in imposing sanctions if Iran fails to come clean on its nuclear activities.

Lavrov said Russia's position is that under current conditions even the threat of sanctions against Iran would be counterproductive.

Yup. Looks like the Nobel Magic has worn off.

    Obama's next job

Since Japan loves Obama so much, can we ship him off there?  He could be Emperor - no real power, just a figurehead, couldn't really do any harm...

“Mr. Obama’s English is easy to understand because he pronounces words clearly and speaks at a relatively slow clip,” said Professor Tadaharu Nikaido, a communication specialist here.
It would probably be too easy a shot to point out that a teleprompter only moves words so fast.  Or the dangers of trying to learn the geography of 57 states from our president.  Or trying to learn how to communicate that you're having an asthma flareup

Just what does "We will not back down" mean?

Update: graphic shamelessly stolen from Electric Blues

    http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/allish/DPUD/obama-homophobe.jpg

It's possible the gay community has paraded so much, it's become ineffective.

Vowing not to back down from urging Obama to follow up on his campaign promises to gays, many gay activists view Sunday's March for Equality as just the beginning.

They want President Barack Obama to follow his words with actions and end the discriminatory "don't ask, don't tell" policy of homosexuals in military service, and to take a stance on the Defense of Marriage Act.
    (h/t)

The White House responds by telling a reporter that the demonstrators aren't being taken seriously.

So we move from "I Won" to "governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult" (h/t) in a mere 260 days.  But a lot can happen in 260 days, that's almost as long as it took Obama to win a Nobel.

I could see Obama doing away with DADT - it's largely a failed policy as soldiers have continued to be asked indirectly (i.e. do you have a girlfriend back home?) and thus forced to lie, and I'm sure Obama would take whatever chance he had to take a potshot at the military. But Teh Won has already taken a stance on DOMA - I'm guessing we're going to see a whole lot more of "I really want to, but I just can't" thrown at the gay community.

So does "We will not back down" mean the gay community will actually vote against a candidate who pretends to have their backs while stabbing them in it next election season?  At what point will the gay community realize that they will be collectively thrown under the bus each and every time they let it happen to themselves?  Or are they only fooling themselves in the same way we fool ourselves every time we cast a vote for a RINO, telling ourselves the alternative would be worse?

Hey, illegals! Come on in, we don't want to deter you!

Joe Biden is relieving us of any concerns we may have had that the Obama administration will fail to secure our borders

Under a two-year-old agreement with the federal department of homeland security, Arpaio and his deputies had been authorised to enforce federal immigration law by arresting suspected illegal immigrants in the field and by checking the immigration status of people arrested on other offences.

But after drawing thousands of complaints and a civil rights investigation from the justice department, Arpaio was this week stripped of his federal authority to make immigration arrests. County attorney Andrew Thomas, one of Arpaio's supporters, condemned the "setback in the fight against illegal immigration".

So, What Do We Know About Obama's "Safe School Czar"?

Ummmm, just go to Zombie's website to find out.

    Two quick points:

First of all, I don't give a shit what two consenting adults do, so long as no laws are broken, but praising a man who advocated the shit NAMBLA endorses, well, that has no place in our discourse.

And secondly, yeah, I am going there regarding the guilt by association thing, considering that if the left wants to try to link a blogger or talking head on our side to some shady character, I believe that tying a man entrusted by the President of the United States, and beyond the normal oversight that Congress has over Cabinet officials, to do anything more than sweep the floors should be held to the highest degree of scrutiny (see: Jones, Van).

And let me conclude with this snippet from Zombie:

Fuck this guy sideways with a chainsaw

With a chainsaw doused in napalm and set on fire, at that.

I had a feeling something like this was going to come up - there's a bizarre relationship between the gay community and NAMBLA that seems to result in the gay community not squishing those creepy pedophiles like the cockroaches they are.

What is surprising is that no one is mentioning reports that [Safe Schools Czar Kevin]Jennings publicly stated that he was inspired by one of the biggest promoters of pedophilia in the country — Harry Hay.  Hay actively promoted sex between men and boys and supported the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).   Transcripts of a GLSEN conference in NYC on October 25, 1997 indicate that Jennings said, “one of the people that always inspired me is Harry Hay.”
Besides being one of the people who lobbied for NAMBLA to be included in gay rights activities, Harry Hay was also a member of the Communist Party, the Gay Liberation Front, and cofounded the Radical Faeries and the Mattachines.  Harry Hay considered the exclusion of NAMBLA from gay rights activities as part of a dangerous exclusionist trend.

There's a serious cognitive disconnect on the left regarding admiring activists and actually looking at their activist enterprises.  The fact that the person now appointed to keep our schools safe isn't able to recognize that someone can do some good things but still be fundamentally sick and harmful to others is way beyond concerning.

So President Obama, can we please fire this asshat now?  Or are you writing his extremist alliances off the same way you wrote off Bill Ayers' past actions?

    That's bad bad

He's doing stuff we will never be able to fix.
ICANN is becoming an "International Body" and the US gov't is no longer in charge of the Internet.
Yay! I hope the wonderful, impartial, totally not-dominated-by-dictators, UN will be in charge. That way, China can protect all of us from bad stuff.

Well, Obama has his Panama Canal. I have a sinking feeling Georgia is going to be his Afghanistan.
I figure Putin will wait until spring so Obama won't have the opportunity to boycott the Olympics.

This really deserves a witty comment here but I got nothing.
Insert your own for me. Make it good, I have a reputation to uphold.
