Morons get results

The proper credit to Iowahawk for this post was initally left off the site. 760KFMB regrets the error.
That's a good start, but you know what would be so much better? An apology from Rick Roberts, admitting that he stole the piece (graphics and all) from Iowahawk.

Thanks: To Russ over at Moron Central for linking and getting more Morons involved.

We're number one! twenty-four!

DPUD was ranked #24 in Right Wing News' list of the top 40 conservative blogs for 2008.  We ranked higher than smart people blogs like The Next Right, Power Line, Hugh Hewitt, and Jihad Watch.

Thanks, John!

Think you'll like this

Some of you may have noticed, a few of us who contribute to doubleplusundead have been getting pwn3d by Real LifeTM.  As a result, the amount of crap quality content we provideaily has dropped somewhat, which meant it was time to do some recruiting.  I think you're gonna like my first pick.  If you read this crappy blog or Ace's on any regular basis, you probably already know this person.  Got a guess?  Give up?  Okay, here you go,

Hopefully this'll get fixed soon, an email has been sent.  Ouch, sorry for your bleeding eyes, all you IE users.

This Moron has been busy

I've been pretty busy most of the weekend, but I did get a chance on Sunday to talk to Jeff Beatty (website - donations), who is running against Sen. John Kerry this fall.  I should have a write-up on that by tonight.

Fingers crossed.

A meeting of the minds Morons

I met fellow Moronblogger XBradTC for a few beers tonight, just down the road from the real historical marker in Brea Canyon that's my blog's namesake. We mostly talked about military matters (Brad is an Army vet, while according to my lefty betters, I'm a Chickenhawk), politics (especially our mutual dismay over the rise of Captain Bullshit), and the Moronosphere. Brad is a very nice, well-mannered guy, though he swears more than any self-described Evangelical Christian I've ever met, something he chalks up to having a couple of Catholic Chaplains in the service.

We both agreed that we have to get together with more SoCal Moronbloggers over beers sometime in the near future (we're looking at bloggers like you, Malor) and that we ought to try to lure dpud out of Pennsylvania for a visit to the Golden State, if only to slip him some roofies and take compromising pictures of him for blackmail purposes. (Just kidding about that last part. Or am I?)

At any rate, Brad is a stand-up guy, especially since he picked up the entire tab for the evening. I totally owe him the next time we get together, especially since he's the only Moronblogger who knows what I currently look like and can describe me to police sketch artists who would be very interested in information regarding the disappearances of several hobos, not to mention the hijacking of a truckload of Val-U-Rite vodka.

(Cross-posted at my crapblog.)

Update: Here's Brad's take on our meeting. All I can say is that he's a filthy liar. Except for the stuff that's true. Which is everything. Although he totally downplayed how ruggedly handsome I am.  Not cool, Brad.

Thanks for your submissions!

I'd like to thank all of you for giving me suggestions on candidates for Down the Ticket!  I've added some of them to the list, and hope to post on as often as possible.

In the meantime, Ladies Logic has a great post up on what the author has termed "The Stepford Democrats."  She notes how universally shared the talking points are for several of the Dem House candidates, including Bennion Spencer, who is running against one of Down the Ticket's sponsored candidates, Jason Chaffetz, in Utah's 3rd District.

You can donate to Jason Chaffetz by clicking here!

ATTENTION ALL MORONS: Big Announcement & Call for Help

As is clearly evident today, most of us are disheartened with the current GOP presidential (and possibly vice presidential) candidate for 2008.  But it gets tiring writing and criticizing the bad within the GOP day in and day out.

To that end, a friend and I have started a new blog to promote conservative candidates.  The new blog is called Down the Ticket, and the URL is www.downtheticket.com.  Right now, we are focusing on 6 candidates for the fall election, and 2 candidates in GOP House primaries.  The fall 2008 candidates include:

- Andy Harris (Md. - 1st)

- Chris Hackett (Pa. - 10th)

- Jason Chaffetz (Utah - 3rd)

- Lou Barletta (Pa. - 11th)

- Tom McClintock (Calif. - 4th)

- Lt. Col. William Russell (Pa. - 12th)

The 2 candidates who still have to win GOP primaries are:

- Rep. Jim Ryun (Kan. - 2nd) - primary on August 5.

- Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell (Alaska - AL) - primary on August 26.

I am open to adding more candidates (including gubernatorial and senate candidates), so if you have any ideas, please leave them in the comments section, and be sure to add Down the Ticket to your blogroll and favorites.  I didn't cough up $15 for a domain name for nothing.

***{doubleplusundead} *Bumped!*  Thanks for the link See-Dub, be sure to offer Vintage any suggestions for conservative candidates you can for Senate, Congress or Governor races****

Okay, one moar

Our current set of co-bloggers is excellent, but there's a problem, we're all dudes, so its time for a lady to join the team.  I had actually offered this person a co-blogging spot here in my initial search for co-bloggers, but they had just went on hiatus, but I let the offer stand.  She's back though, and ready to post again, so I'd like to welcome,

doubleplusguestblogging

This'll be fun, a few days ago our crappy little moronblog was listed #24 on RWN Top 40, which was surprising given the names on there.  What was more surprising is that John Hawkins then asked me to post items for a week at Conservative Grapevine while he was out on vacation  So, I'll be doing that starting Monday as well as posting here, so be sure to drop by Conservative Grapevine now and then to see what I have posted, maybe it'll be some of you morons.

Free Rice

Been a while since I've seen the Free Rice word game mentioned, so I thought I'd give it a plug.  If you haven't played it, they give you a word, and you have four other words, you choose which of the four is the best word to define the one given.  Corporate donors give 20 grains of rice for every word association you get correct, something to do when you've got a few spare minutes.

doubleplusundead ranked #24 on the Right Wing News top 40

Nice, thanks John!  Not bad for a little moronblog that's been around for little over a year.  All credit to MP, Vintage, Sean, bmac, plebian and Cuffy though, I highly doubt doubleplusundead would be on the list without their contributions.  Honestly, as amazed as I am we even were included, I'm even more amazed by how highly ranked we were!  Hugh Hewitt took one look at where we were listed, and where he was listed, and declared that John Hawkins was "not to be trusted as an analyst."

So, thanks again to all our readers for continuing to drop by, especially all you AoS morons, and I hope you continue to enjoy our site.

I hadn't checked in at RWN yet, so thanks to the Eggman for the heads up.

Welcome back, blogger

Bryan Preston makes a brief appearance at his old blog JunkYardBlog, before he handed it off to See-Dub to go to Hotair, which See-Dub then left to write at Malkin's.  Heh.  Anyway, he's been doing producer work on Laura Ingraham's radio show since then, but he makes a brief appearance to offer an editorial on the joke our energy policy has become, do check it out, and if you've been missing Bryan since his departure from Hotair, drop by and say hello.
