Geek Tech - Build your own Microsoft Surface multi-touch platform

Yesterday I can across a vid of kids at Carnegie-Mellon developing a Dungeons and Dragons application for the Microsoft Surface

D&D on the Microsoft Surface from CrunchGear on Vimeo.

Posted it on facebook and today a friend of mine sent a link to an article on how to build your own.  This is cool.  Who wants to give me $850 so I can build one.

(and yes this deserves the hotassery tag.  It isn't as cool as machine guns and flamethrowers but it is cooler than shoes  :-) )

When I saw something like this in Avatar, I thought it was purely CGI.

...after I finish reading the article, and googling the crap out of this, I suspect I have a little project I'm going to be working on. Soon.

3 Well we can be sure, based on the evidence presented in this video, that these are true, hardcore, D&D players. (And before anyone gets all wadded up about my comment, I played it from the ages of 9-14...then I moved on, full-time, to grown-up stuff like, err, video games.)

I moved on to video games, but never left tabletop behind.  I still D&D when presented with the opportunity - since I moved, I don't know anyone who plays.  I miss my weekly games!
