I'm sitting here feeling like I'm not worthy of him.
Thanks for posting this, dpud.
It just reaffirms my notion that no high school graduate should be allowed to graduate w/o seeing Saving Pvt. Ryan or something equivalent - so they have a buffer of reality against the BS thrown at them both in the world at large and in college if they choose to enroll. I know my kids won't leave home w/o having seen SPR.

Lemur King, I would rather show them Band of Brothers. That's a much better example of the greatness of our troops.
I've always thought SPR, while a great movie for its effects, wasn't a very good war movie.
Like the line where the guy says that saving Private Ryan might be the only good thing they accomplished (or whatever they said exactly).
Ummmm, ridding the world of Nazis isn't a good thing?
And notice the translator wussy dude apparently only becomes a man when he commits a war crime.
I've never understood how killing an unarmed prisoner makes up for allowing his mate to be killed while he pees his pants.
Nope, I much prefer Band of Brothers'
Or... either Pork Chop Hill (the most realistic war movie, characterally and situationally speaking, you'll ever see) or some WWII propaganda movies like They Were Expendable, or some later stuff like In Harm's Way (yeah, two Duke movies, so sue me).
The last war movie, besides Band of Brothers, that doesn't slander our troops was the Green Berets. (another Duke movie, you'll have to refile your suing me papers).
