There's a story on People's website with the following headline:

and then we have this video:
I don't see where either of these responses could be construed as 'lashing out'. Palin's commentary seems well-composed, Bristol seems calm in her interview.
Has 'lashes out' become a phrase that means 'delivered an oppositional response', or is there a not-so-subtle attempt to portray the Palin women as venomous?

Didn't you get the memo? When conservatives, or even the KIDS of conservatives, say anything other than what the MSM meme says they should say, it's 'lashing out'.
Example: Barney Frank could get caught taking it up the wazoo from a custodian in a House men's room. The Rep congressman who mentions it to FoxNews would be 'lashing out'.

You know in the old day, the kind of swill Mercedes and now apparently Levi were peddling, were met with a recourse to non legal sanction. I just say, it's not a good idea to tick off someone who's that good of a crackshot. By the way if you think this is a coincidence that this line of attack is happening now, well I have the Gravina Bridge to sell you. For you see, Mama Johnson's (the one who was making 'hillbilly heroin" at home, while her son was dating Sarah's daughter,) new attorney is a well connected, radical attorney with strong DNC and a real grudge against the governor, in an Alton Maddox/Johnnie Cochran sort of way. How else does one explain the Tyra Banks, the Star Magazine tie, ABC News stalking him. This is an attack as transparent as the 'rape kits', the whole Trig delusion and Troopergate.
